I know most are griping about the new bugs and problems and crashes and whatnot after the new TG DLC....

I'm sad about the fact that it was even smaller and more worthless than the IC DLC... Geez, Orsinium was so great...WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?!?!?!

sub cancelled....I know no one cares, but hopefully others will push this ticket.

I like the dlc, they should have added more then one small area but its a nice city, and I like the way they have done theives guild, I like the thieves den in the dlc better but wished they ported the sexy armor from skyrim, into the game.

I'm sure the questline is great...that is one thing this game has NEVER lacked...

The zone is so small and petty...and sure, we get dailies to go pickpocket, but the rewards are dramatically less than those from simply pickpocketing.

The city IS kinda cool...ya have to find the one and only way to get to where you're going...but idk...overall, just really doesn't feel like a purchasable DLC to me.

Orsinium is very awesome , but the new dlc 20$ for only 1 small map look a bit expensive , idk this dlc is for pvp ? because the pve look so small ?

The quest line is awesome, the zone feels bigger than it is, the repeatable quests feel fun and worthwhile, the thieving is butt-loads of fun, the delves are interesting and refreshing (although there are only two of them), the world bosses are a nice challenge and are fun as well.

I dunno, each to their own I guess, but I am really enjoying this DLC, even more than Orsinium.

Only thing I missed were some side quests about Hew's Bane. I mean, what's up with Hubalajad's Reflection? Tava's Beak? Maybe more interaction with the merchant lords? The world design has been once again stellar, but compared to Orsinium it lacks a bit of story.

I also remember in the announcement video over a year ago they showed a statue of Nocturnal. Guess that didn't make it through production ...
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

It was a tiny DLC, tiny, but the little content that was included with it was pretty excellent, imo.

    I finished the DLC. *SPOILERS*

    I liked:
    - The zone, although small. did everything in less then 3 hours except finishing main quest
    - Thievery
    - Story, although short
    - NPC animations during story and effects
    - Heists (can they be done co-op? )
    - Ability to hide in crates (wish there where more scattered also in older zones. If there are, I haven't seen them yet)

    I disliked
    - New zone + main quest to easy. I expected boss fight in end, but the Iron Wheel dude just got a bump in the head by NPC companion and the other bad guy I let rot in cell.
    - new sound bugs (in PvP sometimes all my sound disappears)
    - lag not fixed in PvP
    - Horse speeds up and slows down in PvP like he is on steroids but suffers from a burndown real quick
    - FPS drop, also in PvE
    - new sets that make no sense and can ruin PvP experience
    - V16 mats droprate still drop to slow, or better yet, V16 gear take to much mats (how will they do this when Veteran rank is gone? Will the mats needed be based on CP needed for gear?)

The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. I dont play the games tons, and when i do i take my time. So personally i feel that 10 pounds (on phone, seem lack a pound icon. Grr) for 20 plus hours entertainment is good value. Very little you can do for fun in uk for 50 pence an hour.

The trouble is if they had made it longer and more expense people will still have said it was too short and expensive. It is impossible to provide enough new content for the hours that some people put into this game.

If Pete Hines kept his promise:
"We feel pretty strongly about the support we're going to have for the game and what you're going to get for those dollars," Hines explained in response to a question of why The Elder Scrolls Online was not pursuing a free-to-play model. "We're also very confident in our ability to support it with content. And not content of the magnitude of, it's a new month, here's a new sword or here's a funny hat — but content that is real and significant and it feels like regular and consistent DLC releases."

People would not starve for content. But how mich of these
content that is real and significant and it feels like regular and consistent DLC releases
have we had now in the 2 years the game is released. 3? 4?

Quality of Wrothgar was great. Good story, great xploration. But is finished by a casual in 1 week. And now we have to wait for another 6 months for new DLC. I know DB is around the corner, but Thievesguild was so small which a casual can do in 3 days. If DB is around same size it will be also 3 days. They do add something to the full game though, but all that thievery and stuff is more for a new player or character. I won't deny in the long run all these small DLC really add to the world of Tamriel

I agree that would have been nice, but it was a very different financial model back then. With £8 a month guaranteed from x users it secured the new content. But, for whatever reason, the financial model changed and future income is far less secure and predictible now.

If they released a new dlc a month for just £10 then people would complain about that. It's too expense, they release too often etc.

The biggest problem is no matter how large you make the dosome people will finish it very quickly. I would be interested to see the dlc completion time in a bell curve. Take off the fast people, and super slow people, and get an idea of how long it takes the average person to play.

This is what many people, me included keep saying. This is MMO, it requires extensive server support, which in turn is expensive. To make profit you need to have certain lvl of players always present online. TO have that certain lvl of online presence you need a decent repeatable content.

Agree, all quest in this dlc put together only take a few hours to complete. But it actually take 2-4 days because you need to repeat daily and repeatable mission to proceed with the main quest. In total this dlc offer no more then 20 quest, and half of these are really simple, short and straight forward

The delve are nice, but it only take 1 minutes to run all around...really like the tomb one, how I wish there be more to it...

The crafting set is strange, am not exactly sure who will use them, but I definitely couldn't fit them on my character.

The motif look nice, but instead of making player work for it, they make people grind for it...

The assistant is extremely lame...a non existence to me

The story are good but much left untold, I sorta felt like it isn't complete. Say quen find her fathers treasure...and? What was it? The lizard had some issue with he's childhood friend...it seem to have just resolve on it own? Confusing.. The dummer lady and her cat lover and her son? What's next? Live happily ever after? And the guild, we have spread our influence to new land..shouldn't there be something exciting? It is like saying "good job,but you can retire..we don't need you from now on"

As of the side quest..they are totally insane and poorly designed. First the strongbox mission which take forever to complete. Then the search for specific type of item which also take forever. God knows I visit every kitchen and I couldn't find any clean kitchen ware. Nor do scholar carry writing on them.. Most of them just carry child doll or drum for some reason... The pickpocket mission are ok, but quite boring...would be so much fun if it were pickpocket specific person for specific item...

The heist is fun..but also very short. You have only seven minutes of game time...and only once per day...the reward are poor as well.. No better then normal repeatable thieve mission.

World boss are ok, the snake lady are rather traditional, have seen it in game several times. As of the slaver..it just a mass spawn.. So many trash...

Side mission.. There are none, beside two none repeatable mission-one for each delve. And one for the new trail....straight forward and simple little quest. It is as if this expansion is only about tg and nothing else... Which is never seen before in eso...

The skill line is boring.. You would think join the thieve guild becoming a master thief will aid you in your thief ability...but it really offer none.. It will not improve your pickpocket chance, or your help you sneak a little better, or allow you to fence more item...but no, thieve guild are for silly beginner who constantly get caught.. Most of the ability are about escape from guard and loosen your bounty quickly...well there is one that decrease crime detection range...but I can assure you that I have not yet notice any difference... The haggle skill may sound very attractive, but you only get 8% bonus and it require level12in tg and 4skill point. Really if you want to introduce something this lame, at least make it a 1skill point passive. Plus your new assistant charge you a fee of 35%... 4 skill point and days of hard work only worth 8%...while a cat that does absolutely nothing other then save you maybe a minute of walk worth 35%? Imo the entire skill line need some serious rework....

Serious when I bought dlc I was expecting Daedra prince relate quest...the nightingales and skeleton key... Or treasure vault..secret trove... Instead it is mostly still those old stuff....there are some new zone that give bounty if anyone spot you, but those spot do not offer anything good, they are dangerous with no additional reward...which make them really lame after the main quest line....also thieves trove are not secret nor hidden, nor do they offer anything good...and most importantly they are no where to be find. Their content are no better then normal strongbox.

Edit: overall I joined the infamous thieves guild and become a master thief..but my skill in thieving has not improve one bit... Beside a daily quest and daily heist there are absolutely no change. Nothing I couldn't do before I join the thieve guild...very disappointed..was expect some special power like skyrim.. Or lots of riches and legendary treasure(eg. Gray cowl, skeleton key). But instead they are nothing... Other then a guild assistant who constantly attempt to rob me blind.

I think the zone and quest design are great, as usual, though TG quests create too many loading screens (remember the 15 core zones where we could sometimes play for hours without a single loading screen? While doing TG solo content you get a loading screen every 1-5 minutes; there really should be a wayshrine inside the thieves den or another option to port there directly; every time you turn in a quest you need to port to the Abah's Landing wayshrine first [long loading screen] walk 20 seconds to the entrance of the thieves den [second long loading screen] until you can finally turn in the quest).

The reward systems and long-term progress designs are lacking though.

The TG skill line is almost a closed system: The skills only make you better at gaining levels in the skill line (and at making gold easier and slightly faster when stealing items from containers and safeboxes and selling them to fences; hint for developers: the main reason why some people stole so many items was because it was the most effortless way to make a lot of gold in a short amount of time or they did it solely because they wanted the Black Market Mogul achievement!).

You can do some repeatable TG things for a tiny chance to get sets that make you better a doing those repeatable TG activities, but you don't really need those sets, so few people want to farm them (there's no reasonable way left to farm them anymore since thieves troves have been "fixed", but at least those set items aren't BoP so players can do trade with them).

For new players, the TG update made stealing more interesting, fun, and easier though it will cost them a lot of skill points if they want to invest into the TG skill line before they reach veteran rank (it can only be done if you don't put any points into crafting or werewolf/vampire).

Updated material nodes in scaled zones make it A LOT easier and faster to gain VR 16 mats now (you already see the prices dropping on all VR 16 mats on the PC EU server, for example Repora which dropped from 2.3k each to around 1.8k; it will probably soon drop to 500 gold or less; Rubedite Ingot, Sanded Ruby Ash, and Ancestor Silk will soon drop to near NPC value [800 gold per stack of 200], Rubedo Leather will also drop in price, but not quite as far as the other mats and not quite as soon). This removed the main incentive to farm Tel'Var stones for profit, by the way (VR 16 potency runes). So there's no reason why anyone would still farm Tel'Var stones unless they want a Tel'Var set (Shield Breaker or Phoenix, for example), or a chance to get one of the Xivkyn transformations. Hakejio are still exclusive to IC though, as far as I know.

For old players, there's the new motifs that can be gained by doing Wrothgar dailies (Malacath and Trinimac), the motifs that can be gained from Cyrodiil treasure chests (Covenant, Dominion, and Pact), and the ones that can obtained from TG world bosses (Outlaw) to farm, for a few weeks, for those who enjoy doing that.

One of the main selling points for older players should be the new trial. However, I think it's still not open enough to players that aren't in the top pro raiding guilds. Increasing the difficulty far beyond what it ever was in previous trials won't get more players into doing trials. Normal mode should be easy enough so a group of 12 random players with some experience in the game have a chance of completing it and getting a reasonable reward.
There's not enough incentives for old and new players to do that trial.

The old trials should have been scaled up to VR 16 (make VR 15+ version of the trial only available to those who have purchased the TG DLC if that is the reason why you can't scale up the old trials), as well as all group dungeon drops, and Cyrodiil bag merchants.

A system to update the quality of jewelry and the level of items in general is badly needed. If there's any way of removing the veteran ranks and introducing those systems before Update 10 (Dark Brotherhood), please do it >< I also find a system to change to appearance of an individual item more valuable than a barbershop.

Edit: To end on a positive note and not to give a false impression. All this being said, I really enjoy(ed) doing the TG content and I don't regret buying the DLC and I enjoy playing the game right now.

I have done mainquest without doing any daily. For the quest to continue all you have to do is leave the zone and come back later.

Sorry.I'm the exact opposite of you.I love Hew's Bane. You can do tons of different quests besides just the main questline. Repeatable ones, heists, and other quests that take you all over Tamriel. At the moment I have two different pickpocketing quests going. One takes me to Glenumbra, the other to Skywatch. Plus the retrievables. Every day there are more of them to do.

I just can't get into the dailies...which are entirely pickpocket this zone, then this zone, then this zone....and what do I get out of it? Literally JUNK loot to turn in to a fence. Do the questline? Yay, gear pieces to make the dailies easier. The zone is a joke. Maybe the new motifs are cool looking? IDK, I'm a tank, so I don't get loot amongst the mobs and mobs of players farming the bosses.

Again, the city is kinda cool. You can't just GO where you need to go, you have to find the one all over the place way to go. That's fun.

New trial, right? That's cool. I've yet to find 11 others to even attempt a trial(since beta)...I know there are tight guilds that run these religiously...so no complaints, I'm glad they throw in things for each niche of players over the DLCs.

Pickpocketing is just really boring to me....I drudged through it to up my Leger skill line, was all there was to do back then. I'm certainly not going to do it all again to raise another worthless skill tree, or run dailies that give me junk loot. Sure, everyone will be bloody rich thanks to this DLC, but what does gold get you in this game? Jack Squat.

That is why it cost 33% less.

I agree that the narrative isn't or the same caliber as Wrothgar, but the town is pretty a pretty awesome location. It feels a bit light and I hope DB will feel a bit more hefty.

On the other hand, the combined costs of the DLC are a lot cheaper than a sub would have been. Especially considering the periodic 40% off crown sales. The cost of the TG DLC ends up being under $9 if you stick to the crown sales. Not a bad price.

I subbed for 4 months....so the sub cost was cheaper in my case. I was happy supporting them, and I have tons of crowns now if something comes out that tickles my pickle. I did everything in Orsinium and in IC...So I was happy with what I spent. I lost interest day 2 of TG, plus the loading screen every 10 seconds really did me in.

I spent $60 over 4 months, so it was cheaper than buying DLCs for me. The DLCs are crazy expensive, anyway. I'm sure they do that to inspire folks to sub instead, which IS the much better deal anyway.

If you play ESO only to "get something" out of it,you'll always be unhappy with the game. You'll always want more than it can give you.I havent been a fan of pickpocketing myself, really, but I'll do one of those a day.I'm in Glenumbra doing one right now. (well, when I head back inworld) Still,if you do the Heists, there is no pickpocketing, and you get timed. If you dont beat the clock, you still get a reward though.Just not one so nice.

If you dont beat the clock, you still get a reward though.Just not one so nice.

what do you mean, exactly? I've LOVED ESO up to this point...and have been very happy with my money & time spent. This DLC just really, really disappointed me. Maybe they hyped it too much...on paper it sounded so amazing, but then when I actually played it, I was borderline offended.

Oh,I wasnt disrespecting you.Nono.
I was only saying that when you have high expectations you will always get let down. I was a bit let down at first, having seen the TV commercials for ESO. I expected to see a game that looked and acted a lot like Morrowind when they said it would have all the elements of Tamriel.I bought the game before it was released, and when I got my invite for the first betas,I was so excited.I got in,and it wasnt giving me the familiar Tamriel feeling. However,I did love it anyway.I just had to let go of my high expectations and enjoy what was offered, and it has been a wonderful ride ever since.Well,..but for the DX11 fiasco. I triumphed over that hump! XD
Oh,and I am really happy with Hew's Bane and all that goes with it!

Hmm well let's see their are players like me who don't like to play the thief or murderer. So why should ZOS make a massive DLC for only a handful of play styles ? DB is most likely gonna be the same small new area with few new quest lines and that's it. Only reason I have TG is cause of ESO plus... plus wanted the skyshards but that's it.

Because you are in the minority.Pay them large lumps of money and maybe they wont make any more DLCs that "you" dont want.

Pretty much ZOS's view of endgame also. The give a big middle finger to anyone that wants to play this game seriously with its very little endgame content. They would rather cater to the casuals instead of seriously building up a solid endgame.

You asked why ZOS made a DLC for only a handful of player styles, and insinuated that a small minority of people play.
Perhaps I might have read your comment wrong.
Those handful of player styles is because it is about thievery,as the Thieves Guild is a part of TES lore.As is the Dark Brotherhood(assassins). Yes,it will be about murder and other things.Maybe you might ignore those places?
I do not mean this rudely.
(I keep having to state that these days)
