Sure there is lag, but I believe that ZOS is really trying to resolve it. I've worked on performance tuning projects for large enterprise applications and it can be very complicated to find all the causes of bad performance. If it gets really bad we go to a different part of the map and find something else to do.
Sure there are exploiting players, but you can "rez" at the keep and it doesn't really cost you anything.
Sure there are rude players that whisper to you because you killed them, and they were supposed to be invincible, but I promptly ignore them.
What kills PvP for me is that Alliance Points (AP) has become the objective instead of the incentive. So many times lately I have gone into Cyrodiil hoping to help my team conquer the map, and all it seems like anyone wants to do is farm AP. There are AP farms at the bridge, there are AP farms at the farm, they set up AP farms with a scroll... etc.
Maybe a group will eventually take the keep when they get bored of AP farming, but a lot of times they move on to more fertile territory and leave the keep unmolested, because taking a keep doesn't generate enough AP to be worth doing. Also I have observed that the most "elite" groups will not fight each other, because that doesn't generate AP fast enough. They would rather go find a group of "noobs" to grind.
If I am incorrect in my assessment then I apologize to those that are like me and want to play PvP the way it was intended, but this is the trend I have observed since the game was released and it seems to be getting worse.
I don't know how you "fix" this problem, but for me I hate farming and grinding, so I just get bored and leave. Does anyone else share my frustration, or is everybody happily farming AP and I just don't understand?
Playing since beta...
