What kills PvP for me is the objectives.

Sure there is lag, but I believe that ZOS is really trying to resolve it. I've worked on performance tuning projects for large enterprise applications and it can be very complicated to find all the causes of bad performance. If it gets really bad we go to a different part of the map and find something else to do.

Sure there are exploiting players, but you can "rez" at the keep and it doesn't really cost you anything.

Sure there are rude players that whisper to you because you killed them, and they were supposed to be invincible, but I promptly ignore them.

What kills PvP for me is that Alliance Points (AP) has become the objective instead of the incentive. So many times lately I have gone into Cyrodiil hoping to help my team conquer the map, and all it seems like anyone wants to do is farm AP. There are AP farms at the bridge, there are AP farms at the farm, they set up AP farms with a scroll... etc.

Maybe a group will eventually take the keep when they get bored of AP farming, but a lot of times they move on to more fertile territory and leave the keep unmolested, because taking a keep doesn't generate enough AP to be worth doing. Also I have observed that the most "elite" groups will not fight each other, because that doesn't generate AP fast enough. They would rather go find a group of "noobs" to grind.

If I am incorrect in my assessment then I apologize to those that are like me and want to play PvP the way it was intended, but this is the trend I have observed since the game was released and it seems to be getting worse.

I don't know how you "fix" this problem, but for me I hate farming and grinding, so I just get bored and leave. Does anyone else share my frustration, or is everybody happily farming AP and I just don't understand?

I agree it's pathetic. They need to make capturing/defending keeps and resources worth more AP. The need to make capturing and holding scrolls worth more AP and give bonuses to AP accumulation so it is more worthwhile to fight for them.

I'm there to capture and fight over keeps, resources and scrolls not farm players or watch my stupid team mates become potatoes and run into a choke point a dozen times to be farmed over and over.

They need more objectives before tying AP to objective based pvp.

Till then the AP system works, especially now that groups of 1-12 receive equal AP numbers to a full raid.

I am not sure I would use the term "works", but I guess it does get people in Cyrodiil.

Personally I'd rather player kills granted no AP.

Maybe they could make AP like Tel Var, except if you take a keep you get all the players that are defending it's AP, and if you fight off an attack you get a large AP reward. The defenders will become juicier targets the longer they defend.

Our pvp group is one of the most objective focused in NA PC. There are two changes in this patch that make us deviate from this now.

1 - they released broken sets that are near must haves. You can't buy them, so you must farm mass amounts of AP to combat the rng BS. Well over a million AP so far, no jewelry pieces, like 15 maces of fury. We won't stop farming AP until we have our guys and gals geared for this (awful) meta.

2 - with forward camps, siege, and burst dmg buffs, and mitigation, healing, and mobility nerfs - being able to take an objective on your own isnt a reality in many cases. Everyone is stacking up and hitting a single objective, something accurately predicted many weeks ago.

The new sets are quite powerful and I have observed the jewelry drops are very low... Updated v16 PvP bags can't come fast enough I guess...
