Returning player; champion points?

OndursKelto
How do champion points get accrued? And if an upcoming patch will convert my veteran rank into additional champion points, whats my best course of action, considering I dont like my main race/class combo? To be clear... I have a VR 5 DK (breton). I kinda want to roll a sorc or NB now but im feeling obligated to finish off my Breton DK for more champion pts. If I were to drop him as is, and focus on getting a NB leveled up, would that hurt me in champ point accrual in the long run?

Only Vet Ranks can earn Champ Points, but all characters can use Champ Points. So, you would be best served to grind or do things on the VR5 while leveling your other characters

They accrue based on the Experience you earn. There are two states in the game, Enlightened, and Not Enlightened. If you don't login for a while, your Enlightened and earn Champ Points at 4X the normal rate. Early Champ Points take less Exp or CXP to earn, as you get points it takes more and more for each point. But, the ramp up is slow, so you get lots of points early on.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

You should lvl the vr5 toon to vr16. When the next dlc launches, they will remove vr and give you 40cp if you have a toon that is vr16.

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

What do you mean by ''they will remove vr and give 40cp..."? Will they remove veteran ranks? And does it have to be v16?

Yes, veteran ranks are being removed. And ZOS will give 40cp to players who have at least 1 vr16 toon.

That sucks. What will be then? More level?

Awesome info. Thanks. I thought I could earn CP on my new lvl 4, but good to know I cant.

Not really. all you will have to do to get an Alt to max level* is get them to L50 and that can be done in a short period of time if you focus. Unlike the VR Leveling, which although streamlined now, is still a time sink for those who's focus is End Game

*Or at least the same level as you character that earned the most champ points

Huh, so we will only start with 40cp, or they giving us a extra 40cp on top of what we will have when they remove vet ranks?
