Riding Lessons 50% Off

When I logged in this morning before work I noticed that riding lessons are on sale in the Crown Store for 50% off.

So, if you just bought Crowns at 50% off (as I'm sure many people did), and now you use those Crowns to buy riding lessons at 50% off, you're getting your riding lessons at 25% of the normal actual cost!

I'm going to predict that a lot of people will be upgrading their speed and capacity...

For the record, on my main account all of my characters have been at 60/60/60 for about a year now, without me ever using Crowns for it.

I can't reward mediocrity. I quit trying to level an alt to be honest.

I can't even log in every day to bother just paying 200g for a 20 hour cool down. My toon is still not even half way maxed.

Riding lessons need at least a 90% cost reduction before I'd even consider using them. Basically, I want to spend like $15 to max ALL riding stats, not a ridiculous $150.

Try 6 months to max a horse. Can level the character 3x before the horse is maxed. I was excited for new character slots later this year, but the thought of spending another 6 months to level a horse and I'm not excited any more.

5 of my 8 are maxed. One has 4 days left. Second has 9 and last has 14. Can't wait.

I have mixed emotions about this sale.

This means I have to delete a Mule and start a new character. I have been wanting to do this for a while now but I was waiting for the Crafting Bags.

Otherwise, all my characters that matter (6 out of 8) are fully maxed on horses.

I already had my 8 characters when the upcoming change from feeding horses to getting riding lessons was announced (this coincided with the announcement of the switch from the sub-only model to the B2P with optional sub model), so when it was announced I got 3 horses on each of my characters (at the time the horse that you got with the Imperial edition cost 1 gold), named each horse after the food type that I'd be feeding it, and fed 3 horses on each character each day - 1 horse for speed, 1 for capacity, and 1 for stamina.

By the time the switch was made, I was almost at 60/60/60 on all of my characters.

Why wait? This way you can create the character now, max out the inventory with riding lessons (and use any of the other riding lessons you want to use), and keep using that character as a mule until the crafting bags come. You won't lose out on any inventory as you'll still have your mule - it's just that instead of your old mule you'll have a mule who will eventually be a full character. When the crafting bags come, then you start actually playing that character.

I'm in the same boat. On my main account (I use the alt accounts for storage and bwb pvp for kicks with friends) for both Europe and America I've maxed all 16 characters at 60/60/60 riding skill. Even on the alt account I like to get speed up purely for Cyrodiil. I can't see myself paying crowns to do it though when I can spend a minute or so a day going forward.

I bought 3 capacity. I like the mount system in this game. Having everything maxed is not essential at all, and no one is forcing you to purchase anything. I did it because I want to support the game, and I think the 1500 crowns (3x capacity), was worth the money.

I know, but the little guy has grown on me. I purposely made him as ugly as possible, and now he has that whole bulldog so ugly it's cute thing going on. Unlike my characters I tried to make look good that came out looking ugly and I won't insult bulldogs by making that comparison.

See, I was also hoping unreasonably that they would also offer more character slots around the same time, so all birds could be killed with one shot.

Then again, I have been itching to see the new Wailing Prison, I have not done that since release week.

I like making ugly characters. They don't all need to be beautiful.

I also use to own a wonderful bulldog, may he rest in peace. They're great pets, but their lifespan is sadly too short.
I too look forward to do the day when we can get more character slots if only to meet my need to have one of each race + some.
