Now That We Have Mimic Stones...

Having the new Mimic Stones is great. What we really need now is something else, another stone perhaps, that allows us to change the style of a PREVIOUSLY CRAFTED item to a new style THAT WE KNOW. With each new DLC we get new motifs to learn. Some new styles may have more appeal than older ones and for the average player we cannot afford to craft new VR16 gear just for the sake of an appearance change. ZOS, please find a way to make this happen. What do other players think about this?

Plus sometimes you make a new piece that looks cool from the small picture we can look at but ends up looking atrocious. But since you sunk 150 mats to make the v16 item you don't wanna let it go to waste. Atleast give us a section in character select screen to model all gear in game and maybe dye them as well so we can see what looks best

Also we need a stone to change the armor trait as well.

And a stone to increase the armor's level.

I've wanted this since launch; it would work just like "Convert to Imperial."

Changing the armor trait with a special item would be great as well, to agree with @Didgerion.

Not a fan of the mimic stones.

What the game really needed was a style material exchange, where you could trade a large amount of common material or proportionally less uncommon material for one that's rare. But no, ZOS went the counterfeit/bootleg route where you get a knockoff product instead.

Yeah, you can call that fake Prada purse a "mimic" all you want, but we all know you paid some guy in China $12 for it...

Not saying no because I dislike the idea of transforming gear. Indeed, I think it's super important and want it ASAP. But I don't want yet another crown store stone to do it. It should be like dyes, where you invest a lot of time getting there but then can do it for free forever. Whether this involves just learning the motif, or investing a certain amount of crafting stones per set piece, or what, I don't care, but the system would see way more use if it followed that model instead of having to buy a stone every time you want to switch between Glass and Trinimac or whatever.

We also need a stone to change the stone back to original stone.

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

We already have this function for imperial, no reason it shouldnt exist for all known Motifs. It is 100% aesthetic, so there are no counter arguments for balance or anything like that. It might actually make me more aggressive about getting all the new motifs out there. As it is, I dont see much of a point. My gold gear is made and not changing at least until thieves guild (and only then if something better comes along). I would love to be able to change the style, but I certainly would not re-craft perfectly good gold gear just to change the appearance. I only see an upside with this.

Thats something I noticed when they raised max level crafting gear mats quantity.I was like, wow so many styles but now it so hard to change styles if you wish to.To expensive. So basically if you are max lvl and like to have max lvl gear ,collecting motifs is not even worth it.And that there is bad design decision.

Also if they ever add something like this, and they should,it needs to be cheaper to get in-game and in crown store. Why cheap? cause not being able to switch styles often its the result of ZOS decision of increasing end game crafting mats quantity.

No. As a crafter, I need the business from fashionistas redoing their wardrobe every season. It's something to keep the economy churning; something to strive for even if you have outfitted all your max rank alts and are now eyeing the bank mule judgmentally.

ESO is already transforming into an instant gratification theme park.

image removed for being way too pedantic

It really depends on how they implement the restyling, though. If it requires you to know the motif first, then you'd still get all your fashion-conscious folks coming to you for their gear, but you'd also be able to redo your own style, basically becoming your own advertising board. "Oh, this old thing? Yeah, I could make you one in a similar style, just make sure you dye it that same delightful green as the Breton Robe you wore to last spring's gala." *bats eyelashes*

Yes, we desperately need yet another stone... ;)

But seriously, a transmogrification stone only available in the crown store would likely bring a lot of money.

I would not spend real money on looks myself, but the big masses seem to spend more money on mount skins and pets than DLCs.

Since it only affects style I think P2Win and instant gratification are not really an issue.

I voted yes, but NOT AS PART OF THE CROWN STORE!!!

This should work similar to the convert to Imperial function, but only if you know the style you want to convert to, and it consumes the racial stone to convert. Heck, make it require a skill point or 3 (one each for BS, CL and WW)

Also, it should work on any dropped sets. With the possible exception of the monster sets. Let's face it, Footman's is a useful set for tanks, but fugly as. If i could convert it to khajiiti or Trinimac style, I would be so happy.

No, the in-game economy is bad enough already. Crafters still have the glimmer of hope that someday, someone might want new armour because it looks nicer. Don't take that away from us.

Please ZoS, introduce some way of re-stylizing gear, give us the ability to melt down our old gold gear without loosing 7-8 tempering alloys and re-make it the way we want. you are constantly adding new motifs which is great work from your art department but for me, it is making my gear outdated way too fast. hell, make it a crown store stone I will pay.

    Food for thought.

+1, but I'd guess there'd be some restrictions such as you need to know the motif you're converting the gear into.

Before I read up on mimic stones this is what I was hoping they were. It would be really nice especially when you use dropped set pieces which dictate the styles you have to use for the rest your gear.
