Yeah, the point is he doesn't like this game anymore, so what? Nobody cares.Ironically this guy has a point.

"Im strictly a PvP player"
Not surprising then that you find the DLC very underwhelming. However, those who are not "strictly PvP" might not be swayed by your self-confessed bias.
This game is not just about pvp and grinding like other mmos, it is about exploring, enjoying the scenery, building your character in the way you want, so yes, if you treat it like a completely regular mmo, you won't enjoy it, because thats not what it is

To answer the OP's question, I'm enjoying the latest DLC but I'm primarily a very casual, PvE centric player. I've been playing the game quite slowly and don't plan on quitting soon. I have been reading the number of PvP complaints though and really hope they start to address some of them. A healthy MMO caters to all playstyles and should be balanced in that regard. Like what some other posters have said, I find many things to do in this game and have a hard time getting around to all of them.
I have taken a bit of a detour though to try out Black Desert Online since I've heard this is the second coming of MMOs (sorry---I don't get it. I guess that it gets better but so far with 3-4 or so hours into the game, I find it confounding and awkward to learn--I keep coming back to ESO). I do admit that at times ESO can become stale and when that happens, I find something else to do. No use getting so upset and bitter about a game that is supposed to be an enjoyable past time.
Good luck OP and I hope you find something else to play that is more to your liking.

^THIS! Even Matt Firor says this game is an RPG vs traditional MMO. is
