What pisses me off about thieves guild

The fact that the main quests are dailies.

Okay for all the console gaming scrubs out there that have only ever played eso and think the terms in all mmorpgs must be the same, a daily quest refers to a quest that has a cooldown. A repeatable quests refers to the same but one you can repeat.

I never said You could repeat these quests I've said how ever many times that I do not like the cooldown period between the quests.

    You just haven't gotten far enough along in the story yet whereas I've only got one more quest left and the last 4-5 have been dailies :)

    You just get a bit further and you'll find out, also notice how I said main quests.

    The Main Quests most certanly are not. A lot of the sidequest are, but the main Thieves Guild questline, along with the storylines for each of the main characters are absolutely not repeatable.

    I've finished all the Quests in the Thieves Guild. The 'Main' quests are not Dalies. They are single time story quests.

    What pisses me off about it is that I didn't buy it but I still have to see those damn treasure troves everywhere.
    I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
    Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

    Daily quests and repeatable quests are different, I never said you could repeat them. A daily quest has a cool down.

    So why then since I went into the tomb have all the main story quests been dailies?!

    1. Went to the tomb found out the old guild leader was a trader, went back to do more couldn't

    2. Did the tip board, oops no more available, did the daily heist which clearly states heists are dailies, oops no more available today, did the re acquisition quest, oops no more available.

    Logged on the next day did 1 heist reset main story quests which then became available.

    That is the pattern I've been forced to follow since the 7th which was the release of this patch I'm now up to the quest before the last and I've got to wait till tomorrow because it's a daily.

    You can't repeat the main quest. Once you do it on one character that's it. The only repeatable (daily) quests are Heists, Reaquisitions and Crime Sprees, which have no bearing on the main quest at all.

    Nope, they're not dailies. Just like the Mages Guild and Fighters Guild you have to reach the next level in the Thieves Guild skill line before the next quest becomes available. It's got nothing to do with having to wait a day, although depending on how you've been doing your side quests and the actual dailies, you may not be able to level up the skill line until the next day.

    Story quests aren't dailies either, they're based on guild level. If you're high enough you can complete the main quest in one run.

    This is what I meant when I said you may have to wait until the next day to level up the skill line: if you're not doing much of the tip board then you're probably not going to be able to level it up fast enough to keep doing the main quest in the same day.

    You're missing the point, I'm already at 10 I've been there for two days yet I can only do one quest per day with the thieves guild, Heists, tip board, reacquistion etc..

    So it must be a bug then

    That's the reason for them being so bright, so you can see but not touch until you cough up the $$.. A bit like that supermodel turned escort.

    Yeah, that has to be a bug.
    Every time my Thieves Guild skill line leveled up, another quest arrow popped up in the cistern.
    Either a note from a member or an NPC telling me to go talk to a member.

    I see nothing weird here.

    You had to do side content for the Thieves Guild in Skyrim to actually beat the Thieves Guild questline (become the leader and fully restore the guild) thus making the side content missions actually main quests for the faction.

    Side content that was actually pseudo main quests were repeatable even after you did all that too.

    Inb4 blame Skyrim becomes a thing as to why ESO is like this.

    Daily quests = repeatable quests, so stop telling people to "learn to read" when you yourself should've clarified what you meant. Also, being abrasive to everyone who's trying to understand what you said isn't going to get you any favors. You don't have to be an ass to report a bug, state your opinion, disagree with people, or ask for assistance.

    First of all, I played on PC before going to Xbox so don't assume all console players on here are "gaming scrubs." Second, I beat it on my PC acc already and none were dailies. You're just mistaken on what is a main quest.
    This whole thread is an inflammatory cry baby post because you don't know how to do a quest and can't tell the difference between a side quest and a main one.

    A daily quest refers to a quest that's repeatable and resets every day. It's been a long term standard in the MMO world to refer to those type of quests as dailies. So you're getting the terminology a bit mixed up there, OP :smile:

    Anyway. The main quest is semi gated, though it's not that badly done in this DLC, it was even worse in Mists of Pandaria in WoW, the quest wasn't just gated, it was hidden behind daily quests and reputation gain. Never bothered about that story line, watched it on Youtube after gnawing my fingers of off boredom. Now that's a messed up game design.

    The thieves guild main quest is semi-gated through your progression, and it does make sense, you are after all climbing in the ranks of the thieve's guild, they don't know you and you don't know them. And the story is also build so that they need to "discover" what to do next, scout ahead if you like. I sort of like that idea, it makes the quest feel a bit more dynamic.

    I'm not the person that's too fond of gated content, but I think Zenimax made a good design on the thieve's guild main story.
