What happened to jumping after the last patch?

I feel so restricted, like I can't jump over even the smallest thing. Is this a bug or an intended change? how do everyone else feel about it?

Is this like the last big patch where jumping in stealth was suddenly changed? Feels like someone is hitting me in my face when I try to jump foward. I really hope this is a glitch that will get fixed.

    +1 I have died so many times due to this change to jumping mechanics. Combat feels so slow with this in which has been made worse by no regen sprint and nerf to speed buffs. Disengaging from battle without bolt is very hard now.
    Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

    Exactly my thoughts, and i feel like i get snared way to often. Almost as if everything that hits me also snares me. Extremely frustrating.

    I didn't notice any difference in jumping, however there's still the same ongoing bug where you would slooowwly glide down along an obsticle when you couldn't quite make it to jump on top of it..

    What I did notice right after I started walking/running the first time after the update, is that my character seems to take much larger steps, and it's slower than before also. Maybe it's related to any (new) jumping issues?

    I read somewhere they adjusted something with hopping.

    I'm going to get it wrong but jumping kills forward motion and you loose any speed bonuses.

    Not sure I think I heard it @alcast stream when he was doing the new dungeon on PTS, he may have a better idea.

    Many paths over rock formations are now impossible to jump. There is also now much more of that slow levitate back to groud effect. I was collecting skyshards to a low level alt in Auridon. The usual shortcut from Nestmother's Den to close-by skyshard and to Vafe dolmen via Torinaan was very difficult to jump. It's the levitation that screws jumping. ZOS try to get that skyshard NE from the Den from the southside road or from the lake.

    I noticed this too. There is some broken masonry in one of the Cyrodiil quest towns that I always used to be able to jump over while stealthed EVERY time... now I fail to jump over it every time unless I come out of stealth. It's really frustrating because it's looks like a tiny bit of rock that nayone should be able to just walk over... but I can't even jump over it !@#! At first I thought ZOS must have changed the map & placed an invisible brush on the rock... but when I came out of stealth, then I could jump over it (on the 3rd attempt).

    Jumping has always sucked in ESO. God forbid you land on the edge of a rock and 'fall' for 5 minutes while you slowly reach the ground...

    I noticed that too...and I noticed that it's really hard to sprint with horse when going on even the smallest raised rock, everytime the sprint goes off even if I keep the shift button pressed.
    In fact the whole new zone of hew's bane is a pain in the *** because you have lots of impossible-to-jump rocks, worst fps ever seen in a such simple looking video game (even after the "hotfix") and the unsprinting horse...everything feels so snared x.x

    I'd really like the possibility to jump higher, jump while sprinting and, maybe, an acrobatic jumping (I loved FNIS because of this)

    Or at least jumping that takes in consideration my POV, using the camera view as partial orientation.

    ESO compared to Skyrim has let us sprint and jump further or even leap from standing still. Which is now very very hard.

    Yeh I also noticed jumping feels slower, I'm wondering if its tied to normal movement seeming slower as well.

    They had a jumping issue after a patch a while back (you couldn't jump over the smallest rock while stealthed). They acknowledged it was a bug and fixed it a short time later. I hope that's the case here as well...

    I agree that exploit environment for shortcuts is wrong, but there are so many invisible walls, most of them in so many unreasonable locations that kills the whole purpose of exploration.

    Now, with Thieves Troves to find I would really like to climb moderately small rocks or walls to check if there any hidden in an unusual place.

    The game has TOO MANY mountains. Leveling a new character is always a pain when I remember how long it takes to walk around part of the geography because ZOS don't want to let me jump. We, players, are human beings... well, there are mutant cats and lizards but you got me, why on earth we can't jump higher, sprint and jump, do some parkour (that's exaggeration, I know...)

    The only single thing I miss from Morrowind (which is a crap game IMHO - that's it I said) is Acrobatics. Of course, I don't want to be a virtual version of John Carter but still, let me jump or I'll get fat

    I can barely jump over small obstacles now unless I have a running start. I used to be able to jump from a standing position and 'nudge' my character over to clear it, but this movement seems to have been severely reduced, making something as simple as this much more challenging. I should be challenged by enemy forces and puzzles, not by small bits of map geometry.

    I can't jump very well anymore... That mission where you're joining the veiled heritence is a frickin' nightmare to do. You have to jump on top of the boxes, ZOS... You have to jump on top of the boxes!

    Snared on a beetle at one point while fleeing a particularly nasty mob. I couldn't believe it!

    Mobility is terrible in combat. My mount seems to stick on small objects and slow right down too.

    Just wait until you try to collect the Skyshard from Dune in Reaper's March... took me several minutes because of the constant "slow fall animation". You have to find 'just the right place' to jump successfully up that rock to get high enough to reach the Skyshard.

    Jumping has always been terrible. Sometimes trying to get over a pebble you have to jump and the characters will jump straight up and down. It's AWFUL but I haven't noticed any difference, it's always been this way.

    Your characters speed is not being taken into account when jumping now. (Disclaimer: this is purely anecdotal, but I have tested it quite a bit.)

    It seems that the base speed while running forward by pressing W (or whatever joystick on console) is the max speed you can move while jumping. Rapids and sprinting are not affecting the speed your characters moves while jumping, and they seem to just turn off when you do jump, then back on when you hit the ground. This is not applying to jumping while mounted.

    You used to be able to push yourself in a direction slightly after jumping. Now when you jump that is barely possible. It might be more realistic but its certainly not making things easier.

    I've always committed my character to jump in a certain direction before doing the button pressing. It sometimes stops you dead in mid air as if there is an invisible barrier.

    So nothing about this in the patch notes for v2.3.6.. thats disappointing.
