Maintenance for the week of November 17:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – November 17
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – November 17, 6:00AM EST (11:00 UTC) - 4:00PM EST (21:00 UTC)
• Xbox: NA and EU megaservers for maintenance – November 19, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EST (17:00 UTC)

Game sorely needs a difficulty slider, it's just too damn boring to quest.

It seems to me the people who often say the game is too easy or boring are the same one's who grind to max CP and and run trial after trial to get that end level gear.

If you want a difficulty slider, there it is. Go back to using low level weapons and armor.

Or, check out dome different MMOs. There are a few out there, where you will be griefer bait for the first, oh, two or three years until you can build up your own "skills" ... I mean stats.

Yet the OP said he's running a lvl 6 green bow and no armor except for the starter pants, no set items. He can't really do it less than that, yet still kills everything super fast.

I was actually replying to a different post than the OP, I should have quoted it. If someone has a low level char like that and are one-shotting things, then they probably have a ton of CP.

Again, it's normally the folks who grind out max CP who come back and complain the game is too easy.

There's a free market, and it's full of MMO's where you can be griefed constantly by higher stat players, if you find that sort of thing "challenging". None have the player base of quality of content that ESO has, granted.

Going back to the OP, remove your CP, then tell us you can one shot anything with your bow.

I don't have any CP. My only other character is level 40-something. The only skills I have are level 1 un-morphed skills, and I am not even using them.

    @Dahveed

Please post a video of you doing it. Then I'll buy it. Since I have never been able to do this on any of my toons of any class or race, I honestly emphatically do not believe that you or anyone else is doing it. I invite you to prove me wrong, and then show me what I'm doing wrong in order to accomplish it. Until then, I call B.S.

Ah, here's the quote. I wanted to find the specific quote in which he called me out.

I've posted the video. What is your response, jkemmery? Not going to call me a troll again?

I leveled up a nightblade last night. Did not apply my CP, never one shot anything. I applied my CP and guess what? You could do it. I think that is all the proof I need.

    That you're bad?

I guess so. I'm done caring about this thread. The point of it was for a difficulty slider, or something. I do NOT believe OP or anyone else goes around one shotting same level mobs with little or no armor, basic weapons and no CP. I find it sad that someone needs to resort to obvious hyperbole to make a point. I've proven to myself that it's B.S. and at this point, that's all I care about.

Someone mentioned GW1. The only reason hard mode worked was because the zones were instanced for the player or group. It was not open world like we have in ESO.

Unless we go to instanced zones, which would be a major recoding of the game and require more server resources, there is no way to scale the zone seperately for each character. They can't scale the zone because as it is now, the zone is the same for every character in it.

However, they can scale the character. The could make a menu/toggle that allows the player to chose how the character performs. For example, they could allow you to turn off CP points for the character. They could also make a checkbox list and allow you to choose any or all from a menu such as half the damage you do, half the health, armor, etc. You could as also do this as a slider instead of a list.

This would allow the player to make the content more difficult for that character for those that want more challenge while keeping it the same for those that dont.

LOL you have the video proof of exactly what I am claiming on page 1. You can clearly see my naked character one-shotting things 4 and 5 levels higher than him. You can also clearly see, when I open the menus, that I do not even have the conquest point icon anywhere on the top row, clearly indicating that I do not have any Champion Points.

Furthermore it would be ridiculous for me to even attempt to lie about such a thing anyways.

Just go away already. You've stated THREE TIMES already that you are "done" with this thread, yet you keep coming back to troll me.

    Exactly this.

It's nice to see at least some people are awake :)

I just wish people would really think it through, and realize that this is not some earth-shattering balance overhaul which devs would have to dump weeks into in order to remake their entire game.

It takes a very easy debuff using the same buff/debuff code that already exists in the game. They would just have to decide how to actually implement it: an actual slider in the UI? A poison or disease you could voluntarily contract? A curse? A doom stone? A costume in the Crown Store? Any of these would work.

See? THIS is a good attitude. I appreciate your understanding.

The way I envision this kind of change, it wouldn't affect anyone at all who didn't want to use it. Indeed the majority of new players wouldn't even notice it existed, because only players who actively seek greater difficulty would apply the nerf to themselves.

My rewards don't change relative to others, and the base game doesn't change at all for anyone who doesn't participate.

But the game just became enjoyable for me, finally.

I keep trying to come back to this game every couple months or so when I hear about new patches, DLCs etc., thinking maybe this time I'll subscribe and start paying the monthly fee so I can try out the DLC or something. But every time I just play it for about a half an hour then run away crying. The gameplay is just THAT BAD.

All it would take is a simple tweak in numbers; i.e., all my damage taken is increased threefold, all my damage output is decreased threefold, then BAM interesting gameplay with a cool combat system (it really is quite good for an MMO!), and a dangerous and unpredictable open world to explore.

Just having this OPTION would attract new players as well. I can think of about 5 people just off the top of my head who don't play ESO for the same reason as me, and I'm sure there are others.

If ESO doesn't want or need my subscription money, then fine, don't change anything. But for a relatively small amount of work (i.e. adding a new item to the costume shop in the Crown Store or something) they could potentially attract new subs.

    I'm not.

I really gave the game a chance, but have since stopped playing.

I want ESO to succeed because I am a huge Elder Scrolls fan. I keep hoping I can find the game fun, maybe pay the sub fee for the DLCs etc. But every month or two when I come back, I come to the same conclusion after about a half hour, that I just get bored running everything over with my godlike power.

I want to love this game. I really do. I wish I could.

That is why I keep coming back to these forums and arguing with people until my fingers are raw from typing, lol... hoping that the devs will somehow miraculously hear my suggestion for an optional player nerf and save the game for me.

Then I would gladly give them my money and probably sink hundreds more hours into this game.

Yes, go back to thinking that everyone around you is lying and such, I'm sure that works very well in real life, being that paranoid.

It's not paranoia, it's common sense.

You must be fun to hang around with.

In the "Is he serious or joking" kinda way.

Common sense to believe that everyone around you is lying? Sounds paranoid to me, and most likely to most other people too.

I have rolled 4 different characters so far, a level 47, a couple level 3s, and my latest a level 7, for a total of over 100 hours played.

I haven't found a single challenge in the entire game.

How many HUNDREDS of hours do you recommend I play before the game STARTS to be fun?

Now I know you're trolling... you're complaining that the game is so easy yet you've spent a hundred hours playing and the highest level you reached was 47, you're definitely trolling. Even when you add in a couple level 3s and a level 7, it doesn't take ANY TIME AT ALL to reach those levels- heck, you're at level 3 just by rushing through the Wailing Prison. XP doesn't STOP, so clearly there is absolutely NO WAY you could have played a character beyond the Wailing Prison if you didn't even get above level 3. Levels goes very quickly, so even to stay at level 7 means you haven't done much with this character at all. I can hit level 47 in less than 24 hours, so I don't know where you've been spending the other 76 hours because clearly it hasn't been playing ESO.

You don't get XP for reading a book.

You don't get XP for talking to NPCs.

You don't get XP for crafting things.

You don't get XP for going to the guild stores to shop for mats.

You don't get XP for farming mats.

You don't get XP for hanging out in towns and taking in the scenes.

Believe it or not, there are some people who play games like this for reasons other than just blasting through everything to get to the end as quickly as possible.

If "playing ESO" only means racing through mobs as quickly as possible to get through to the end of the game in 24 hours, then I know then this game DEFINITELY isn't for me.

    One less sub for ZoS.

Also, you can skip the wailing prison. I assumed you'd know this.

Is this normal behavior on these forums? You don't agree with someone so they are automatically a "troll"?
