As others have correctly pointed out, it was the fact that previous respecs were forced that caused issues. So why not just mail every character a bound, consumable respec token and leave it up to each player whether they want to respec once for free or not?

I agree, I have only found out about these complaints through hearsay - I've never seen complaints about it anywhere. It just makes sense when they make so many sweeping changes to skills. Many other online games do the same for their players after such changes.

Yes and it should simply be OPTIONAL. For a week after they do big changes like this respecs should be free for each character on your account. That way people don't get annoyed at the forced respec they may NOT have wanted and those who DO want/need a respec can get it on the specific characters they want it on, up to including all of them. This isn't rocket science and ZOS clearly has the know-how and ability to do it. I am very disappointed that they didn't.

No, WE didn't. A select few did. I blame zos not warning people beforehand more than anything. That and not making it optional in the first place.

Respecing 6 alts is costly.

The whole purpose of the alts was to avoid often respecing and save gold. Now with these major changes I need to respec all of them to be viable.

I think ZOS should offer us a respect, but it should not be forced. It should be in the form of a scroll/potion/consumable. It's fine by me if it has an expiration date after pickup.

Absolutely. If skills and abilities are changed as much as they were with this patch, it's a no brainer. Pretty absurd to not offer an optional respec, in my opinion. Major brainfart on this one.

Yes

Major changes to skills and CP should always give you an optional free respec, it's pretty much standard practice in MMORPGs.

With how convulated the skill trees and champion points are, free respecs should be on a timer basis regardless...

But that's beside the point, yes, we should have one for this release and for dark Brotherhood since apparently it will have "major" stamina love.

What they should do at every patch is very simple (they have done it before): Make re-specs cost 1 gold for 7-14 days following the patch. It's such a no-brainer. I have respeced CP on 4 toons already and done skills on another 2. I have gold so its not a huge issue for me, but I know some people that are really struggling.

After an update like this they should reduce the respec cost to 1 gold like they did before.

Don't force me to respec all my chars but I am having to do every chars champion points and some I would like to repsec. The issue I had with the forced respec is that I can't remember what morphs I took and end up with a gimped char I then have to respec again.
