I really like the idea of a magicka nightblade but I haven't really ever run a stamina build so I'm keen to do that too!
What would be more viable For Maelstrom arena?

Not disagreeing, just don't know...what makes a magicka NB tanky?

No utility is a bit of a stretch for a stam NB.
Stam NB is better than a magica NB with rapids and vigor. Plus, I run mag/stam regen drink, so I do quite well running fear and purge too.
