Also not hyperbole, DX11 GPU prevalence just passed the 30 percent mark in gamer PCs three months ago, that means 70 percent of gamers couldnt play ESO today.
You gonna pay for all those new computers bucko?
I can save $20 a month to be able to afford a new graphics card at the end of every 12 months. Maybe folks should stop going out to eat so much. If you can't put away at least 20 a month for savings, you have much worse problems than not being able to play a game.
Well if someone could afford to pay the mortgage maybe the world would not be suffering. Seriously, a lot of people got destroyed by that event and some are still trying to recover from it. All because you can, doesn't mean everyone can. I've played Devil's Advocate, I've even said that ZOS gave a reasonable reason for doing what they did. But coming on here saying I can do this, I can do that isn't helping. Wait till ZOS say "Hey we're going full steam with Win 10 and not support any other version of Window" then you'll have a massive uproar. There's been 64 bit CPUs for over 11 years, but only now are we seeing a 64 bit game client, don't see ZOS dropping 32 bit do you.
This event has taken away a fair portion of the player base. It's going to effect guild, your friends list, the amount of people available to run quests, trails and pledges.
Do you maybe know a way of circumventing the problem with the DX11? How do we go back to playing the 32 bit?
There isn't mate, I'm in exactly the same sinking boat as you, but I'm sitting right next to the leak as I'm on a laptop and 10,100 crowns that I can not spend. The only hope is a change of policy by ZOS but let's be honesty that isn't going to happen unless there is a severe drop in population.
It's a shame yes, maybe ZOS will make a call to Bethesda and come up with some way to compensate us for our lost crown but I doubt it.
Then,..I guess that's it.Until I can figure out hoe to get a new PC,which I cant.Mine cost me $1,300.00,and I'll never be able to go better than this one.
To upgrade someone told me that Id need a new OS,.motherboard, and more.
You should be able to just replace the video card unless its 10+ years old. Whats the specs?

This is the info I have:
Intel Dual core i7 CPU
930 at 2.80GHz
6.0 gigs ram
and an NVIDIA GeFORCE GTX 250,upgraded.
It's only 6 years old.

You can upgrade your graphics card to anything you want. I suggest at least a GTX970 or R9 380X.

I bought my DX11 card in May 2012 (card launched in 9/2011) for $100 after rebate brand new from Tiger Direct. It's a GTX 460 v2. It's pretty outdated now, but it still runs ESO. The thing that holds me back the most in ESO is my slow CPU. I plan to rebuild my entire system this year. I'm just pointing out that they aren't "ultra expensive" and they do not require 800+ watt power supplies. I ran my card on a 500w supply until about 6 months ago. That 500w PSU was an "ultra" cheap "Ultra" brand PSU that was FREE after rebate. LOLMost gamers are still using 10.1 DX cards, DX11 cards are ultra expensive and most require 800+ watt power supplies.
I bought my card, a GTX 460 v2, in May 2012 and it's DX11 compatible and runs ESO right now after the update. I don't know why you think you would have to have a GTX 700 or better.Even if you bought a brand spanking new gaming rig in mid 2013 (just under 3 years ago) you only have a 50/50 shot of having a DX11 card (GTX 700 and Radeon HD 7700 or better)
I don't know about this "native" support that you are referring to, but I'm playing ESO right now, using the 64 bit client, and I'm doing it on my GTX 460 v2 released in 2011. Idk if it's "native", but the game runs fine post-update.(ie: win 7 came with DX11 in 2010, but video cards that supported it natively without relying on DX10.1 codecs didnt come out until 2013 Q4 with the GTX 680)

ZOS stated that DX9 was holding the game back from where they wanted to take the game in the future, it was not capable of rendering the graphics they want to bring to the game. So what you're saying is that players shouldn't get improvements and a better gaming experience because we should remain beholden to graphics capability from 14 years ago. I say HECK NO to that idea!

I went there about 5 minutes before I posted, but I read about the requirements going up to DX11 over a month ago. I wasn't concerned because I knew that the video card that cost me $100 four years ago was DX11 compliant.stewart.leslie76b16_ESO wrote: »The chances are you went specifically to that page within the last 24 hours didn't you.

I've been a player since the beta. I have bought the limited boxed Imperial edition, Imperial City DLC, Orsinium DLC, items from the crown store, and very recently, even the crowns to buy the Thieves Guild DLC. I was ready and waiting... but now I can't even play the things I DID pay for, and I did invest quite a bit...

Only "6" years old?
Theres yer problem.
Thats nearly the equivalent to 1/16th the power available from computers on the market today.
At the very least, one should replace their hardware every 36 months tops.
The cost will be relatively the same, and the performance will be nearly tripled.
It will cost about $1400-1800, but thats what it has always cost. Save yer cash and be ready to trade in yer old for the new, or lag behind and suffer.
My current beast is already at its mid-life; being 1.2 years old.
Its a 7th generation Asus Republic of Gamers, and my first was a 3rd generation.
By 2018, I will replace it with a 12th generation equivalent, assuming Asus continues the brand and remains on the market.
Given the specs I have now, theres not much I can imagine doing with 64GB of RAM, but thats what I said about 32GB when I got it, and I use 18-20GB on a daily basis.
The 32bit ESO client can easily gulp 2+GB itself, so how you folk are managing on a measly 6-8GB is beyond me.
Computers are NOT cars. Theyre not intended to, nor can they be practically feasible for a decade or more.
Theyre obsolete within 3-4 years, and thats presuming you buy state of the art.
If you buy a cheap piece of junk, it was actually obsolete before you bought it.
Granted, I dont see the need for DX11 flare; the game was already gorgeous by itself with DX10, but even DX11 is obsolete, as the next generation DX12 is was released on July 29, 2015.
Tech moves fast. Gotta keep up with it or get left behind.
