First and foremost, I have no disrespect for this player. He's a great templar.

I just want to send a message here. I'm seeing way too many people obsess over ranks/titles that they won't even attack certain players in Cyrodiil. This player is the highest ranked PvP player on PS4, and has arguably the most prestigious title in the game. At first glance, I understand the experience shown in his credentials make players like him intimidating.

The point is, you don't need maelstrom weapons, max cp, crazy amount of AP or even a fancy title. You just need a build that you're familiar with, and the confidence to just do you without reading too much into another player's build. Good gear and some CP will help no doubt, but if you just go all in with some confidence, you just might surprise yourself. Also.. animation cancel. A lot.

P.S. Thank you Camron for breaking that really, really awkward silence.

I wish I could smack you in your virtual mouth. You dare to talk about beating a magicka templar with a stam nb 1v1? Doesnt matter what rank or level you are. A decent magicka templar will lose to a decent stamblade. I cant believe you posted this

Lol from a dueling standpoint magicka templars are strong with cp and magicka det. I can name 10 that can beat almost every stamblade I know. That's besides the point though, you missed the entire purpose of this post. Y so salty

The best magicka sorc I've ever dueled uses an ice staff. He uses an ice staff, so what. This is exactly my point. I'm encouraging new players to embrace their build even if it's not fotm or meta, and to just fight confidently regardless of who they might be up against. This thread already has enough elitist remarks from your two posts, gg.

The reason people approach that player with caution is because in a group you have to focus them or with their healing and support their other group members will run you over. However, said player is not an accomplished duelist. A fact easily seen when they let you proc Assassin's Will with no pressure. I don't think that beating a player out of their element truly is the best demonstration of the point your trying to make OP.

Often, High pvp rank = master AP farmer.

And many toons with mid-tier ranks are alts of a very experienced and skilled player. Rank should not be seen as an indication of skill, whether high or low.

I'm not saying he isn't good - however, a vast majority of people on console who have a high AP rank on console are either a) PC transfers, b) mutagen spammers, or c) both.

I don't blame anyone who does it, will even admit to it myself on some of my characters to try and rank up fast.

This is why I shy away from grouping, I can't learn my weaknesses when others cover my tail in the thick of a fight. I can't rely on very many people to cover for me in sticky situations except myself. Because at the end of it all, the only person saving me from enemy players is me. Learning how to play my character has always been a top priority for me personally in PvP.

On the other hand like you said Reverb-- A majority of farmers only know one copy-pasta thing and thats their role in a grouped farming scenario. When they are separated from the main heard of sheep they have no idea how to defend themselves. The thought of playing PvP in that manner is something I do not believe I will understand. Group synergy is a huge part of this though. If you cannot get a long with others this mental aspect of PvP cannot be trained up properly. Yet, yes your words do hold a ring of truth to it.

@jzholloway "The vast majority" is a bit of an over statement. I know Tribune's that started after console launch and have never touched a restoration staff. You may be right that AP farming is not hard or indicative of a good player, but most people that I know that have a decent cyrodil rank did not mutagen their way through the ranks. You and I are clearly exposed to different players.

Am not sure about PS4 but on Xbox that's not the case most players that I seen with High PVP ranks do not spam Mitigation and the rest are not PC transfer. They just farm Ap a lot and duel a lot and are in general very Good players.2 of the highest of the top of my Head might be higher just the two from the top of my head are Tmick a DC and maybe Morning Kushman a EP.Their might be some AD but haven't seen a their ranks.Highest I think I saw was a player name King Mike and his group during a Guild V Guild battle.

@Takes-No-Prisoner I have to agree with you one of the best thing that could have happened to me is my main PVP guild leader leaving and forcing me to play Solo more.Which as a result made me a better over around player IMO.

It's not really conceit to be honest, man. Not really sure where all the salt is coming from in this thread, holy ***. I'm simply stating the following by posting this video...

    - I don't have maelstrom weapons.
    - I don't have Max CP.
    - I can only really play a couple hours a day IF that, so my PvP rank is pretty low, considering how long I've played.

It's kind of sad, really. This game used to be allllll about elitism. Then came battle leveling, then came excelled CP gains, and the playing field has forcefully been mitigated of anything resembling elitism. Now, those "elite" players clutch on to things like ranks, titles, and flashy weapons. I'm very simply stating, for NEW players, not to be intimidated by that crap.
