Travel to Imperial City like any other campaign

I hate Cyrodiil in its current state, so I'm always in IC. It would be nice if you could travel directly to IC without having to fight the lag and travel there via Cyrodiil. Usually there's no close keeps to travel to, so I have to horse it from the main gate which makes matters worse.

I drew up this lovely picture of what it could look like

8L0mkBO.png

Basically each campaign has a second level, which should be indented for obvious reasons, to allow you to travel directly to Imperial City (unless it's on a gated campaign and locked).
Any future PVP DLCs (lol) could be listed there as well for quick access.

As a bonus, you can view the current population in that campaigns IC.

I know, it's great right.

At first, I was fully into the whole "it's PvP, so of course you need to go PvP to get there" idea. But it's completely different play style and PvP experience.

From a PvE perspective. Imagine if you had to go complete a public dungeon quest line before you can get to the Undaunted enclave.

I like this idea a lot. Good suggestion!

Absolutely. Or imagine if you had to run through a whole zone before you could get to Wrothgar, instead of just porting there like you're able to now? Because that's pretty much what we have to do to get to IC :(

Why not just the previous suggestion to completely seperate IC from cyro and queue directly into imperial city #1 or imperial city #2 population would be completely separated to cyro and you would see how many people are actually in sewers vs in open world

People wonder why there are not more players in IC. Let me tell you why I am not there based on the few times I have tried.

Well, you need to go as a group or its just a recipe for being ganked. So, I have to find people that are on the same alliance as me to group with. Then, I have to make sure I am in the same campaign as they are, and if I am not, then what do I do then? Add campaign? What if I am already in one as I am with two of my characters? I usually don't pick campaigns on my characters because I can't get rid of one once I do (or I have not figured out how to) and I don't want to see all the messages about scrolls that I don't care about. Once I pick a campaign, then I have to wait (last time was 30 minutes) to even get into Cyrodiil so I can travel through it to get the IC.

So, it's a pain to get to IC and I don't bother with it because of that.

Make IC it's own campaign then we can all join that campaign and come and go as we want and not have to deal with Cyrodiil and its pop caps and wait times.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I would actually prefer IC to be its own campaign, especially because it's very underpopulated. I'm pretty sure this was mentioned in a previous ESO Live, having all the ICs flood into one, but they said it wasn't as easy as it sounded.

The Imperial City should never be disconnected from the Cyrodiil campaign it resides in. This would break the very little there is left of the mechanics that should have made the Imperial City an integral part of the overworld PvP.

The suggestion to turn the Imperial City into a seperate campaign because of population issues will result in the same crap we have in the overworld PvP. Lots of zerging.

I do like this idea but I would change it a little bit, still have separate campaigns etc but instead of having to run to imperial city they should give us the ability to teleport to imperial city using one of them shrines where you can teleport between keeps.

Seeing as when we leave IC , we get autoported to one of our scroll keeps. Entry to IC should work the same way. It can't be that difficult to add this function.

IC should be separate - When you are in a 30 day campaign and you have groups trying to score but can't get people in because the queue is full due to your alliance having everyone down in IC, that is a problem. Maybe have it set within a campaign so you can still score AP towards your home alliance, etc, but have a separate queuing system in place so you ca ngo into one or the other.

Just stick to PvE if it's too much trouble for you to try and take some keeps and reduce your travel time to a sewer entrance. This kind of whining has ruined so-called 'PvP DLC' more than enough already.

"Take some keeps"? Did you not see the map? It's not as simple as running to keep and pressing a button. And how has this kind of whining ruined IC? I have no idea wtf you are talking about.

I support a single campaign for IC, but it should have a population limit and if the limit is reached then perhaps a backup campaign can automatically become active to avoid queue times. You should otherwise be able to port in via wayshrine node on your map just like a dungeon. It sucks playing 10 minutes of Horse Simulator plus 3 load screens just to get to the damned zone.

They did say "it's not as easy as it sounds" on ESO live but what I heard was "we don't really feel like changing it."

You can basically solo any keep these days thanks to power creep.
There's only one useless campaign where IC access is actually tied to the keeps you own. Exiting IC ports you straight back to the home base in Cyrodiil. That's two of the best examples of how whining about "i paid for dlc blabla" ruined IC.

I like the general idea, but I don't want to see IC become its own campaign. I'll be the first to admit there is still a lot for me to experience in IC. I've done a lot, but there is still a lot more that I want to do but have not been able. Life has a way of sucking up all the air from virtual reality. :P I don't like the idea of pooling IC together though because I really wanted IC activities to effect the scoring of factions, and maybe effect the outcome of the war. This was originally how I thought IC was going to be but that never panned out. I love the maps and certainly think IC is cool, but I'm not sure I like it to be completely separate from Cyrodiil. Aside from that it would be nice if we could transport directly to IC.

It takes less time to run to the IC entrance from your base, then trying to understand this request.

Why do you want to remove your option to solo, or group in IC, without getting ganked?
Imp city is connected to Cyrodiil in many other ways then just being the same campaign.

Let's say Zos gives you a transport instantly to IC campaign. Do you think such a campaign EVER would be empty from pvpers, if you only seek the PvE part? Being lazy is very expensive you know.

If your reply is "Then make that IC non pvp", then I will kill a baby seal.

What? When did I mention not wanting to get ganked in IC? Why is it everyone else understood my request except you? The request was simple: Allow instant transportation into IC - so you don't have to port to a keep then run to the sewer every time. The map shows the enemy held every keep on the map, so I had to run from the main gate, which is just ridiculous.

The issue lies in where you log into a campaign where it says there are for instance 3 bars of AD, 3 bars of DC, and 1 bar of EP, but AD has taken the map because at least two bars of DC are in IC or doing tavern rp or something at one of the high rock gates.

I wouldn't mind them staying tied together if actions in IC actually affected the war in Cyro (although I'm not sure that I like the idea of having part of the pvp restricted to only those who have the dlc) but right now we have anyone going into IC is not only not helping, when it comes to keeping people out of the campaign because we are pop locked they are actively hurting us.

I'm in for this idea. Traveling to IC should be possible, as to any other campaign.
It's fighting against the lag in Cyrodiil. And if your alliance has lost all its keeps, you can't even go to IC as easy as you want...

100% support this idea, especially when 30% of your campaign pop in in IC farming vamps. It's annoying.

Make it a separate campaign. Make is so people don't need to guest into it either. They can just enter.

The issue is not whether or not IC is PvP and PvE together or not, the issues are:

1: Server lock is affected by numbers in IC, so:
    - You want to help in Cyrodiil, but can't because 2/3's of your alliance is in IC and the server is locked
    - You want to enter IC (a paid gateway) but you can't because your alliance is trying to win and the server is locked

2: you want to get to IC but:
    - you are not the great PvP player and can't start with a group at the closest keep so you get ganked
    - - Yeah, "get good," and, "you will have the same problem in the sewers," but you can only find a group for the sewers in group finder once you are there and/or it is a lot easier to find a group running sewers once you are there.

3: You want to be apart of your alliances effort, but:
    - There is no effort up top because everyone is in the sewers

Yes, you can change campaigns and find the one that suits you, but if it is your home campaign (because you want to earn PvP rewards as well) it costs 150k AP, is that really worth it?

My suggestion is for AP tallies, have IC and the normal campaign connected but have them on different server allocations. So, this would mean, I can pop into the sewers in say Azura Star. I run for an hour or so, decide I want to go on top and I enter the queue for Cyrodiil. Lo and behold I have to wait a bit because I am in position 2. I get in, run for an hour, decide to go back to IC, queue, position 5.

    Benefits:
You can enter either "campaign within the campaign" that you want by joinign separate queues.
You can see the server population for both the Cyrodiil and IC sides of each campaign separately
The queue times for the campaign as a whole will drop significantly
If people want to only play IC, they can, and vice versa
