Legendary Gear/VR Removal

Ever since I heard VR was being removed I started making a butt load of new characters and just signed for ESO plus to help with grinding and research. Can anyone confirm that VR is being removed? Or is it still a rumor?'
Also, is making gear legendary REALLY THAT NEVESSARY? I mean, it takes 56 dreugh wax to make a 7 piece light medium armor set legendary. And with tempering alloy being so rare and expensive, is it worth it? Couldn't you stop at epic? Or will the 3 point difference be that large?

And it depends on what you consider necessary? If you mean can you play content without doing so, sure. It's just for that extra power.0 -

Well, I mean I'm putting in sooooo much work to get more Dreugh Wax and Tempering Alloy and I just wonder with the all the nerfs to the Hirelings and how hard it is to find Gold Tempers if it is just worth it for the extra 3 points for Gold Gear.0 -

✭✭✭Upgrading to gold can give a nice boost on your weapons, and buffs on any other gear pieces can always help, but it's not mandatory. When I make a new set of gear I just upgrade everything to purple at first and then upgrade to gold as I find more tempers over time.@wayfarerx - PC / North America / Aldmeri Dominion1 -

✭✭✭✭✭Unless you're a min-maxer and loaded with gold, legendary armor is not a 'must'. You can get by just fine with epic gear, but I would at least make your weapons legendary.

Only a small edit, it's scheduled for Q2 which means April, May or June. It's not specifically designated for June.
As for OP the first thing you should make legendary is your weapons @gamerguy757 as they make the largest difference. But with Thieves' Guild coming in a few days you'd probably be best off waiting.0 -

Agree without question that the extra weapon/spell power from gold weapons vs purple is worth it. Big jump.
As far as set bonus increase,'cost wise it's not with it. If your attempting to be competitive then the story changes. To get mad damage one must go to the max but not the goal for everyone.0 -
gamerguy757✭✭✭✭✭Thanks guys. The reason I ask is I want to make a Nightblade with the new Huntsman Crest set, so I'm just farming a whole load of Wax to get the advantages of gold gear. Tempering Alloy is like so hard to freaking hard to find lol. And at 10k a pop it ain't cheap. It's not like I'm Sypher or Deltia here lol0

Your small edit is true. Q2 starts April 1 but I would not be expecting another DLC in a little more than 3 weeks from release of a DLC. More realistic is about the same time frame as this one.Edited by clayandaudrey_ESO on March 2, 2016 10:02PM1
