This is a poll so Zenimax can see if the looting system needs to be reworked or not.
The actual system leads players on running the same dungeons over and over again before getting what they want.
Is that okay to us the players? Do you like it?
But not only that, the items you want may drop in traits such as Reinforced/Well-fitted/Exploration, etc. I personally think the system discourages players from playing, but let me and let Zenimax know what you think.

✭✭As I mentioned in another post... the key issues isn't even really how infrequentley an item drops... it's the crazy extra layer of RNG around traits.
I wouldn't mind waiting 20 or 30 runs or whatever for a certain set piece to drop... but when it then drops in Well -fitted!!!!!!
My solution.... leave drops as they are (Which realistically is the only option due to the established and intertwined nature of all those systems) but add a system to enable changes to the traits after they have dropped.
EG: Give master crafters the ability to change traits! But make it hard & expensive.... even if it was a case of gathering lots of a particular crafting material that allowed you to change a trait... either by farming, or quests, or whatever. That would be preferable to the current system as you would have an end in sight & would know you could get what you wanted at the end.
It would also add in a much needed gold sink, and add further depth to crafting.GM of the Unholy LegacyPC/EU/EP2 -

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.2 -

actually if the items droped infused and divines only it wouldn't be that bad, it would even be okay, still think on PvP things should be a lot different than they're aswel. Eptackt - Argonian Templar

Ilterendi✭✭✭I'd be more ok with Weighted RNG, where you enter a dungeon with XX points attributed to Stamina or Magicka and you have double the odds of receiving that type of gear/weapons. Getting a staff as a final reward for a stamina character is disheartening, especially when it's the 3rd or 4th terrible staff.
I don't mind RNG, but I'd rather not have to sacrifice a sack of puppies and kittens and pray my weapons drop. I want to be able to work forwards a foreseeable reward.1 -
nordsavage✭✭✭✭✭I found the title somewhat misleading. To me this sounds like you question the mechanic of the actual act of taking loot from fallen enemies or nodes/containers. The system is fine for the most part but a few drop rate to effort ratios could be adjusted for more time consuming or difficult runs as well as the trait type to armor type. But that is ZOS for you, keep you grinding to keep you playing.I didn't choose tank life, tank life chose me.0 -
Daraugh✭✭✭✭✭I hate the multiple layers of rng. The glass motif was such a huge letdown for me, I was really looking forward to a glass staff but not to the point of driving myself crazy grinding for a chance of a chance.May all beings have happiness

✭Its not so simple as people think, it depends on what direction Zen wants to take this, RNG can be fun if its like Diablo, with massive loot pool, that is. I personally think Zen should just drop it, it takes so much time to turn this into good RNG game, after Housing etc we have tons of endgame, more than enough. But good MMORPG with awesome RNG could be quite unique in the MMORPG market.

Jumper45✭✭✭100s of runs and still couldnt get a drop. RNG is fine. But there needs to be a layer of protection so you dont get stuck in the worst kinds of RNG loops. Granted im not talking about some of the best items in the games like orange which needs a low drop rate. But just middle ground drops. Monster sets as an example and the change to buying them coming years later. The layer of protection i speak of is being addressed soon i believe. But i am speaking about side currency to buy the item after like 50 + Runs. Got my Skora and Kena, but that Engine Guardian....
I have spent SO MANY HOURS over 6 months, just grinding almost everyday....*** it so frustrating.....but....
Thats how its supposed to be...
You earn things, not everything gets handed to you on a silver platter.
I have no problem running that stupid ass dungeon, over and over for ONE piece of gear.
It will just feel that much better when I do.
This entire monster vendor things is ridiculous to me....and a "token" system would be just as stupid, imo.Tripped over my friends bra.....

Guess sit depends on whether the vendor RNG is any better than the dungeon drop RNG.
I'm not sure why people are SO excited about the new gear vendor... I mean they stock ONE piece for just 2 days per week... and the traits are still random.... I mean with a dungeon you can keep running it & hoping.. but with the vendor if the exact piece you want isnt there then you're just sh*t out of luck.
