How does the Exp work?

So when you are Solo or with a group, and some other people you are not grouped with kill enemies around you or near you, do you get that exp or do you have to get a hit on the enemy or killing blow?

Destyran✭✭✭✭✭If you tag them with damage you get exp. best group for exp is 2 never more. Best possible set up would be a group of 2 with rings of mara on exp scrolls aoe zombies with fighters guild passives0 -

✭✭When TG drops I'm going to be doing a lot of testing on this subject.
I've watched a lot of recent PTS videos and I've noticed that on the bottom of the screen, it will actually show experienced gained when killing a mob.

You have to get a hit in, you don't get xp from being near randoms fighting mobs.

Try this and watch what happens to your character.
Go to a dolmen and kill 1 and only 1 foe. Let everybody else close it down. Just stay out of harms way and don't get further involved with the dolmen. Stay nearby until it is destroyed.
Depending on your level and that of the dolmen, you may get loot. But you should see your level bar on the screen appear briefly which increases even tho' you only killed 1 foe. The other players took more part than you and you didn't group with them, yet you still level up to some degree.
{Solo & PvE} If you are in a dungeon and looking to kill a boss for an achievement, you may find that by the time you locate said boss, a bunch of other players are bringing him close to his/her death. Hit the boss with a long range shot quickly to bring you into the action. You don't need to strike the killing blow.
Again, although you are not grouped with anyone, you will get the achievement, the loot from the Boss' corpse and also the experience.
