How often should I craft new gear?

Leveling a new character, how often should I craft new gear? Crafted myself some lvl 14 gear and at level 25. I just mow down every enemy within a few seconds. Should I just craft new gear when I hit vet rank? If so, how often after that should I craft new stuff

Go by the feel of your character. If you notice yourself getting slowed down, craft more stuff. It's different for everyone.

My general rule is when I start dying a lot or run out of resources really quickly.

Though sometimes I make new gear when I get to the tier where I had dropped gear that an alt used.

I was crafting new armor every 8 to 10 levels pre 50. Then about once every material tier at vet ranks.

if you do only pve, dont craft armor at all, everything you find is enough.
if you do pvp, then armor every 4-8 levels and weapons every 2-4

While leveling I just wore whatever gear dropped until level 40. Made myself a nice set of blues and wore it till vet with some upgrades at 48.
Made myself a vet set at VR 2 and another at VR 6

If I decide to do non-vet pvp I will prolly craft new stuff. You pull some crazy numbers with battle leveling. At level 14 39k max magicka and 2.5k spell dmg buffed. Same as my v16 with v14 gear lol

    When I leveled my sorcerer, I crafted new gear at the following levels: 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, VR1, VR6, VR11, VR14.

I'm now gathering the mats to craft him VR16 gear. I have not yet decided what sets I will use though...

I usually craft new stuff at 6, 16, 26, 36, 46, V1, V6, V12, V16. Pre vet gear gets upgraded to blue, vet gear to purple. But mind you I just stroll through the various zones doing the solo quests, and even the group pledges I only started doing at V16...

Ultimately it depends on what you need and what you are doing (pvp, pledges, grinding, or just questing).

you can get it better, you can easy go up to 2,8k unbuffed with purple destro staff, and nearly 3k regen too.

I totally believe it, I just didnt wanna spend mats on gear I leveled out of in 20 mins lol

I usually play with level 3 gear until I hit around 26, then I play with level 26 gear until I hit vr 1, then I play with vr1 gear until I hit vr9 then I play with that until I hit vr16. This game is so painfully easy you rarely even need armor, and a pick up weapon will do just fine.

For Level 1-50 I did new gear about every 4 levels and when I reached the next level crafting materials. For Veteran levels I did new equipment every level up to VR14. Then just used my VR14 gear until I was able to craft my VR16 set.

I upgrade my characters at the end of every materials tier.

So if dwarven is maxed at level 44 gear I make a whole set and bump it up to green and then chant it with whatever I feels like. Then do the next for ebony but only for its max level.

Same, except I do it at the start of the tier rather than the end.

Tbh I don't crafts gear still using level 14 gear, I am level 24 right now and just beat Baron Montclair. (Who's level 32).

I don't play solo so it's not much of an issue, then again half my skills get dodged..

    Probably after 26 ima craft..

This is generally what I try to do as well. Whenever the next tier of materials is available, I'll craft a set 2 levels into that tier.

I gather a lot of materials, so I craft new armor at every second level, mostly just because I get bored of the same look over and over.
With my main character (I played really bad, barely gathered anything) I would sometimes wear the same armour for a lot of lvs, broken and was still able to fight normally.

I use mostly dropped sets and stuff I've purchased at vendors (then I improve and enchant myself) except for my bows. For some reason, I don't think I've ever received a dropped bow, maybe early on. I craft those as best I can, since I don't have any research done. Maybe I'm just a pawn in RNGesus's world.

Levels 1-49 I craft a new green set every 10 levels. For VR 1-9 I craft a new blue set every level. For VR 10-15 I craft a new purple set every level. For VR 16 I craft a new gold set. I've been stockpiling resources since beta. B)

Really depends on your mindset. If it is to get to V16 ASAP like I do on alts, I craft gear at 4, 25, v1, v16. In other words, very rarely. On my first time through, I definitely upgraded way more than was necessary. If you are primarily PvE'ing, I would operate under the mindset that you can replace rather than repair with dropped gear. The content is just not that difficult, and long term, you are better off saving your gold an mats for a real set at end game.

If you are PvPing along the way, its a very different ball game. They way scaling works, you always want gear as close to your current level as possible. Therefore, I would generally upgrade at the end of each material tier.

I think im just gonna use the lvl 14 gear i crafted until i hit vet ranks. If I decide to hit non-vet i will just craft gear on the spot for that level.

Don't craft until V16. You can get decent gear without crafting up until then. If you must craft before V16 do not waste your gold tempers... Use purple.

Once you hit v16 how often should you craft? When there is a set that becomes available that you like more than your current set. My current set is julianos and nothing from the thieves guild update is good enough for me to burn another 40 dreugh wax

if you want to take your time leveling than its not really needed to craft untill the vet levels.

but if you enjoy some pvp in the meantime or wants to solo bosses/dolmens etc fo faster leveling than i'd suggest crafting a blue set each 4-6 levels as thats still quite cheap or else you'l just end up having to rely on others to much when taking on group content/pvp.

I've found that crafting blue-quality set gear (or better) can easily carry a new toon through 20+ levels. Usually what I'll do is make some very low-end gear (like level 4 or something) with training traits on most or all of it. Then I'll re-craft it at around 30, and wear that gear until veteran ranks.
