DISCLAIMER(EDIT): Annnnd for the last time, this has nothing to do with me wanting to play drag. These are examples for ZOS's lack of effort put forth into modeling their costumes. These are more noticeable on male characters, so I've put these examples up. This applies to even female characters, too. For those that don't like to read but like to wing it and just post, read below quote.
.... why are you wanting to wear female clothing on male characters any way?

Well, nobody said anything about wanting female clothing for a male. Not sure why it's even an option... Only costume I've purchased from the crown store was the Stealthy Rogues Pack; mainly for the costume I showed in the second screenshot.

Anyway, main point of the topic is why's ZOS putting zero effort into something that potentially funds their game because of the sales they make from these costumes. Even though I'd never buy 'em, it's something that needs to be brought up at some point and needs to be criticized, because at this point it looks ridiculous and makes ESO look unprofessional.

Just started up ESO after taking a worthwhile break and decided to look in the crown store of the wondrous outfits added over my break.
EXAMPLE:(Yeah, this monstrosity is $10)
27b8b18508.png

My female characters don't look so purty either. The modeling work put into these new costumes are honestly distasteful to a level that I cannot comprehend. Have some people been laid off or what? I understand that these are crown store items and don't need to be purchased, but this is simply criticism and legitimate questioning as to why these recent costumes look like they've been made in half an hour with zero effort.

I mean, the older costumes look like work was actually put into them.
EXAMPLE:(This is only $7 and comes with 2 other costumes)
561c7429db.png

So I ask, why can't costumes work like armors where they actually take the dimensions of the body you chose when you created the character?

I'm afraid they didn't address the "inflated ribcage" issue, yeah. Clipping and texture issues seem to be fixed on PTS, but they still deform my characters' bodies. I really hate that.

Right now, there are six (yes, six) outfits in the Crown Store that I would love to buy, but I won't buy them until this is fixed. If it is never fixed, well, then I guess I'm not getting any outfits :T
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Agreed. I keep screaming it at the sky, but I think we need a proper cosmetic store with actual articles of clothing that can be mixed and matched. Outfits could merely be sets of such articles, and players could then either buy the set or just one or two articles, mixing and matching as they see fit.

Having a cosmetic store with a small selection of static and often uninspired (as you noted) apparel is sort of counterproductive to making money off of a cosmetic store.

They could do so much better. Invest the talent and the money it makes will pay for it... And you will have players more engaged and invested in the store itself. Win/win.

They definitely need some quality control... I believe whomever creates these costumes is very two-dimensional in thinking because a lot of the stuff in that crown store is bloody hideous and most of it doesn't fit well. It's like a jewelry store selling cubics at diamond prices.

Afterthought: I'd still tap your Redguard as long as he leaves his veil on. Hahaha.

For it being the Crown Store, having such poor QC go live really isn't re-assuring for premium options.

On this case, the issue (outfits deforming the character's body) is more noticeable on male characters than on female characters. I think it is because of the generally broader rib cage, but I don't know. It is not nearly as noticeable on my characters, who are all females, but it is still there.

Since the OP has female characters too, my guess is that it is because it is easier to notice the issue on males, so people will see and say "hey, there really is an issue".

    -sigh-

This is why I'm not a fan of the whole "costume" thing and wish they'd at least add an option where you could wear certain armor pieces instead to "hide" your real armor. (LOTRO's cosmetic system comes to mind)

Cash shop costumes and outfits always seem to end up janky at some point, no matter what MMO it is.

Sad, because I really like the upcoming TG costumes, too.

this isnt the only thing that the costume team has cut corners on, many other threads describe how alot of the female costumes complelty do away with the custom dimesions of your own body and place a male torso on alot of them. Really sucks when Zo$ already charges an arm and a leg for some costumes (im looking at you Nord costume)

You're missing the point, which is the deformation of characters torsos with costumes lately.
He uses the male pic because it's easier to see.

@ZOS_GinaBruno you might want to take note of the number of threads about this. Paying premium prices for a Crown Store costume should mean quality, not shortcuts.

Someone should pick up the habit of reading the thread/posts instead of assuming some dude wants to dress up and play drag. If you don't want to take the time to read over threads/posts, I'd suggest that in the future to not post anything at all  Just a suggestion.

Don't understand this either. If you want your charachter to look female, roll a female character. Unless cross dressing is your thing.

Also more generalized to the many male characters that wear them and not solely to the op.

Not really. ZOS is part of Zenimax Media which owns several studios, including Bethesda and ID

    Size isn't the issue.

But it's not fitting on a female character either. So I dont get this argument.

Most new costumes have this problem, as in sloppy design. They're not following the body of the character, instead it completely replaces it with a much less flattering look.

There's a reason you rarely see female characters using any of the dresses or other non-combat looks you can buy in crown store.

I made my female characters slender, but putting on any of these newer outfits they suddenly look bulky, stiff, muscular like some centaur woman and with huge torso and chest. I mean if you made your character look a certain way at character creation, you dont want that look "downgraded" when when using costume you even paid 10 Euro for.

Older costumes as well as disguises, are however made to fit and follow your characters body so they look really good on. Why I'm still using 2 years old disguises as my main outfits.
