I'm v16 Templar, all gold kagrenacs /kena/torugs all gold max mag enchants and all gold sd enchants on arcane willpower and still only hit 30k...I'm a Dark elf so I get 9% max magicka and I have 250 cp.

you can get up to around 50k magica with health/magica food, magelight buff and a bunch of cp wich increases magica by around 15-20 for each blue cp spend

Are you using max magicka food? I use Twice Born star and 3 piece Julianos with inner light and max health + max magicka food. My magicka is 39k on my imperial Templar

Wear Twice Born Star armor, all divines, with Mage as one of the Mundus stones. Use Inner Light instead Radiant Magelight. Make sure Entropy and Meteor are slotted on your main weapon bar. Undaunted passives can help a lot if you have them.

The REAL question, in my opinion, is how do some guys reach 50K?

also mages guild passive increasing max magicka by 2% for each mages guild ability slotted

i get 45k on my sorc with blue food

"How do people hit 40k max magicka?"

On my sorc I just hit 56k magicka. Not maxed yet... :D
But it's another story about sorcerers.

    - Champion points are pretty important. They make a huge difference.
    - Try to get the undaunted passives (if you havent maxed it already).
    - V15 Buffood. (green if you want to have the biggest magicka boost).
    - You could also get the mage mundus stone (I wouldn't recommend though. Only in specific cases.)

Why are people saying champion points are effecting max magicka? Last time I checked, there isn't a constellation that effects any MAX stat. Was this a change in the PTS?

I hit 43k with TBS set and archmage. Jewelry is willpower. And blue vet 15 mag/health food. Mundus is max mag and spell dmg. It is a breton sorc, sadly tho.

each champion point spend actually does give you extra stats.

red=hp blue=magica and green=stam.. its around 10-20 for each point.

just remove your cp and you wil see that you have less of the main stats.

If you are any class other than a DK, its easy to hit 40k. However, with DK, the max magicka you can have with the most common build is about 41k~ fully buffed, and thats with everything arcane, gold, kena/julianos/willpower. However, you could probably squeeze out a few more if you had a set that gave more max mag.. but obviously TBS and julianos are the best right now, and they only give 1pc of max mag.

In regards to the CP gaining magicka... Unless it scales, which I didnt check every single point, but you gain ONLY 7 magicka per point, so with 167 points into mage constellations, you get 1169. I tested and confirmed this completely naked, no % boosts, no skills. Just create a low level and add cp and you can see. However, I only tested maybe the first 10 points of mage, which gave me 70 magicka. Health is more closely related to 10, but I think it's like 9.5 or something, and stam is same as magicka.

The constellation tells you it increases your max mag, health, or stam for each point. Read the tooltip of warrior, mage, or thief and it tells you. Its not under the hood information.

If you have Undaunted maxed and wear a 5/1/1 setup you get an extra 6% on all your stats. Other than that, Inner Light Buff, food. Mages Guild Passive and CP all add up.
I believe I have ~43K magicka on my Breton Magblades PvE setup at the moment. However Nightblades get an extra 8% magicka for having a siphoning ability slotted.

We're not even counting templars as class now, it's that bad :bawling:

Just like DKs, they get 0 magicka bonuses from class passives and skills. So it's not hardest to reach 40k magicka on a DK. Only reason a DK might have less magicka than a templar is because they actively choose to run Sea of Flames for higher dps while ditching Inner Light.

@templesus If you want 40k max magicka on a templar, without sacrificing more important stats, you need to play a race with 9-10% magicka bonus. My Imperial templar 501 CP in max dps setup only reaches around 39k magicka while my Breton one gets around 42k.

So again, on a race without magicka bonus you would have to ditch even more crucial stats like spell power&crit, to get over 40k magicka. Not really worth it since a dps loss.

Sorc&NB gets over 40k magicka without even trying from either Siphoning Passives or Bound Aegis toggle.

How can I achieve 40k mag as a dunmer but still maintain decent regen?

I read a very informative post a while back that showed the stats increases for CP investments. While I do not have the information in front of me, and am not going to take the time to search for it atm, I remember it was a diminishing return system, i.e. you get more of a stats increase at lower CPs and then it dramatically decreases as you get up there in CPs. The information was player submitted, so of course it can be wrong, but they had pretty pictures and bar graphs...so I will take it for gospel lol.

    As others have said...
    * Take advantage of the Undaunted Mettle passive - use 1 hvy, one med, and five lt armor pieces.
    * Have Inner Light double bar'd (you can have it only on your main bar, but you waste magic having to racast when you wpn swap since it is a toggle {tho note that this is changing when Thieves Guild goes live}). Inner Light gives 7% max macicka, 5% once the skill is fully leveled and another 2% for the Mage's Guild passive. Also consider putting meteor on your front bar to get another 2% max magicka from the MG passive. My Templar is a healer so I keep Meteor on my front bar for the stats boost and War Horn on my back bar for the group buff (set up mostly as a Trials healer); tho I swap Meteor for Nova situationally. Templar DPS makes Meteor front bar a no-brainer.
    * Dark Elf is suitable, but High Elf or Breton would be better from a min/max perspective. Race change options should be coming out soon (hopefully Dark Brotherhood DLC Q2), so that is an option should you choose.
    * Consider your choice in sets, as some offer Max Magicka as well as damage boosts. TBS is still a very viable DPS/Heals option and it gives max magicka. Tho, if you are a healer, SPC is the current standard and soon SPC combined with Twilights (TG DLC set) will likely be the way to go.
    * You can go max magicka mundus, but there are better options (Sp Dmg, Crit Chance, Crit Dmg, or {if required} Regen)
