I really like those elite daedra and would love to see them in future games.

Basically means if it actually happens/exists in The Elder Scrolls series or not which is stupid because nothing Bethesda or Zenimax have ever made is canon. No idea why its being discussed.

You have that backwards, everything they've made is canon.

Xivkyn are a fusion of the regular Dremora (Kyn) with the Xivilai. They were apparently created at the Vile Laboratory in Coldharbour to serve Bal as Elite Troops, hence they are at the Imperial City (Dragonfires)

Shame ESO is set a thousand years in the past, preceeding all the ES games.

There were Xivilai in Oblivion. I believe Kyn is just another word for Dremora. Dunno what conclusions can be made from that, but there it is...

Xivilai exist in Oblivion; given the similar root I'm guessing that lorewise Xivkyn would be the precursors to Xivilai (though admittedly, those guys were way easier to kill than Xivkyn ). Given the often cyclical nature of ES lore, I don't see why we wouldn't see Xivkyn re-emerge in a subsequent Age.
AD is the best looking faction. I don't make the rules, I just enforce them.

I think its more like Dagon has them and they are called Xivilai, Bal has them and they are called Xivkyn, most likely just a rank assigned to this ''race'' of daedra.

Guys...Molag Bal has Xivilai too. Xivilai and Xivkyn are two different things.

Well then maybe its a rank on Bal's army.

Upon further research Xivkyn are a hybrid between Xivilai (Xiv) and Dremora (kyn).

Yup, in fact Molag Bal seems to have been the original employer of Anaxes. I guess he was fired, after failing to defend multiple anchors, and later hired by Mehrunes Dagon (Oops, Mankar Camoran).

You are correct. Their property, their series, their canon.

    It's technically both.

The stories, printed material, and various world-building items like soul gems are part of the canon.
The player's individual decisions and actions are, however, fan fiction. There will never be an official canon on which Companion was sacrificed, which sister Champion was chosen in Reaper's March, what happens to Valaste, which noble you choose in Shornhelm, etc.

TLDR Xivkyn are canon but your personal interactions with them aren't.

There are those who feel that parts of the story of ESO are incompatible with the lore established in the 5 Elder Scrolls single-player games. Plus, since ESO has a different developer, which leads some to assume that there would be discontinuities with the established lore. While not everything published within an IP is canon (even if it is official since they have legal permission to use the IP), it has already been stated publicly that ESO is canon.

Therefore, the real questions should be is X in ESO compatible with the 5 TES games and their established lore, not whether X is canon or not. Plot holes are common in anything as expansive as TES, so I don't let it bother me if there are incompatibilities.

Didn't they also choose this era specifically because it was a very unknown time and they could get away with writing mostly whatever they wanted without too many compatibility issues?

As they can just say "well as most records from that era were lost, then it could have happened but was forgotten"
