Using this logic here are some suggestions using the same logic:

Night blade used cloak and went invisible i couldnt find him, nerf pls

Someone used a healing spell and healed himself, nerf pls

Someone used destructive staff ability and killed me, nerf pls

Dragon knight used dragon leap and leaped at me, nerf pls

Use a gap closer,

you dont even need to be a class to have a gap closer on your bar, and even then every single class has its own unique gap closer and as 15 guys your tell me one guy didnt have a gap closer on his bar, i cant streak away from people 90% of the time as they use gap closer, stack speed buffs, and run like they are on drugs so i have no chance to escape, just use a gap closer and use potion of major expedition or if you a stamina build use gap closer, and rapid manuvers and you have catch him np

its called bolt ESCAPE for a reason

Afaik, bolting out of a gap closer range breaks it LoS, so your character just stops in mid-charge. And it's quite easy to get out of range since you can stun with the first bolt and then keep spamming bolt to get away if the enemy is too close, or just turn around and flee if they are far enough.
In both cases though, I just don't bother chasing a sorc, it's just to expebsive for my resources.
I just see it as NBs cloaks, a "oh $#!t" button to spam when in sticky situation.
The only things that makes me smile is that there are sorcs out there who complain about NBs cloaks but they want their similar (relatively) skill to be untouched.

Let's look at what happens if you take the OPs suggestion wrt bolt escape seriously...

1. Bolt escape becomes essentially unusable for all sorcerer builds that are not built for max magicka and magicka regeneration. So stamina builds, non shield builds, and max damage builds. This is because 1 bolt escape will never actually help you to escape... unlike one cloak (though to be fair that will change with TG).

2. As a consequence of 1, more sorcerers will change to max magicka and high regeneration in order to at least have a chance of using bolt escape and hence you will complain about them bolt escaping and using their shields.

3. Every time the cp cap increases then bolt escape will have to be renerfed. But if this is true, then roll dodge would also need to be... and probably also sprinting costs and maybe blocking as you can do more of these with higher stats and regeneration too.

In other words, the fact that one sorcerer can play well and still bolt escape away (presumably also dropping mines or caltrops to slow you), and it took him 15m to get away means it was probably a lot of effort to escape and he was always close to the wire. If it was truly op, he would've vanished over the hills in 15s and been back attacking in 30s.

I don't really see a problem with how many times somebody bolt escapes...6 or 7 times is nothing considering one of my friends can cloak pretty much permanently, and I can spam BoL over and over, probably 20+ times before my magic starts to get low. Why can't people just concentrate on improving their own characters, and stop trying to ruin everybody elses? It's not like a sorcerer spamming streak is doing much in the way of killing anyone anyway
