Any new Nord Roleplay Builds?

After scouring the webs for hours I have come to the conclusion that the only reason to select Nord for your race, is that it fits in with your rp goals. Seriously. Is this what it's come to? Are we even recommended for tank builds anymore? I realize healing and dps are out of the question. Sure min/maxing isn't everything but it's nice to be the best or even good at something. Does rugged even matter?

Please realize that I've played forever now, have other toons of other races, and am extremely salty right now. I'll keep playing my sub optimal nords as well. Just wanted to see what everyone else thought and vent a bit.

My main is a nord dk magic dps and I will never change that. Yes there are better builds for magic dps dk but when my group starts to go down and it's just myself or me and another person I am the one who can save the group. I am that special kind of tanky. It's really all about playstyle and if you can get the nord to work for you, you will have a ton of fun while looking cool as shiz.
Plus, on the upside, you get 8 character slots, so you can have all your alts be min/max. Probably not the answer you want but, it's the answer I go by.

I agree friend. Trust me, my main is a nord stamplar. I just feel overall they've done the race a great disservice when it's passives make it one of the least optimal selections for all builds. I'm mostly just ranting though, as I'll never give up on my nord.

My main is Nord DK. His main purpose is to adventure into PVE areas and to tank pledges sometimes. So no min-max-ing needed here. He does not do PVP.

However I have several other PVP DPS classes that have the most beneficial race for the role (aka min-maxed)

Lets not mention the coldfire ballistas and trebs in PVP that with the next update will hit like a mactruck filled with trucks.

I hear ya. What are your thoughts on end game pve though? I feel the lack of decent racials has a pretty big affect there as well.

I have one slot left to roll and that's the stamplar and all I want to do is run Nord, but I know that stamplars already suffer from lower resources... Redguard is the only option so I can put all weapon damage enchant glyphs on my jewelry in which you need to make use of the balanced warrior passive.

If they had 15 % stam regen we'd be rolling more nords, but even in pve all builds are being nerfed and enemies are being buffed so little changes like this can destroy a build in late game.

I've played a Nord in every elder scrolls game I've played. ESO is no different for me. I play a nord stamina NB, bow and either two hand or DW and I am enjoying the heck out it. It's taken a little time to get my DPS dialed in but I am very happy with my build. I took somethings from proven stamina nb builds and mixed it with my playstyle and the outcome has be great!! PVP I'm ok and PVE my nord is awesome!

Love this bruh. As a Nord Stam NB I get the same thing. The damage reduction is nice. I just don't go down as easily as the other DPSers and it shows in trials. I had to tweak a few things in the build but I've gotten my DPS where it needs to be. I'm not the greatest PVP ganker out there but I don't really care that much cuz I hate PVP anyway. And in PVE I'm awesome and tend to outlast my companions.

So really the only people who can complain that there's no reason to be a nord are the PVP min-maxers. If you ask me though, there's options to mix and match things to work well enough.

I will now pose this question. Have you guys completed vMA on your nord builds and how do you think it compares to your other non Nord toons? In my opinion, this is another key area where rugged is unnoticeable and the lack of solid resource racials becomes quite the problem. Not to offend but at this point, most content is so faceroll for any well geared v16, that the difference in racials has minimal impact. I still believe however, that in pvp and high end pve, we are severely gimped.

I plan to play a daoc style Thane. A stamina sorc Nord in chain armor (medium) wielding a big hammer.

You needn't mention it so often. Although it has no affect on gameplay, surely it is visually intimidating to the other races and in need of a good nerfing.
