Why doesn't talons have cc immunity?

Especially with DK's making a comeback, though I always thought it should, talons should grant cc immunity. There shouldn't be any spammable cc's in the game

Sorc mines don't give immunity and neither does Bombard. Roots don't count as CC

Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. Not a hard cc. You can still defend yourself in talons.

Every class has access to one so it is just as balanced as no class having one.

It is a Root AND a snare. Honestly, I think it's the best root in the game since it 1.roots you, 2. Drains some of your stamina on hit, 3.snares you, 4. Puts a DoT on you, 5. Is ranged.

whether it's a second or not, it's still an immobilize and at the heart of your arguement it is still a problem of not granting immunity. You're upset that DKs can spam talons, but a Nightblade can AND HAVE spammed Teleport Strike to perma root their foe (the debate of how effective this is is something for another thread) Crippling grasp has the same treatment. the 1 second root is arguably stronger than Talons because they can cast it 28 meters away while a DK has to be 5 meters close to their target. 1 second is still long enough to perma root you if spammed right which is the cause of your frustration

c'mon man, Talons has a 6 meter radius. the easiest way to deal with talons is to literally take a step or two back. If six people get taloned by a single DK then maybe they should have spread out a bit

    So is Ambush.

Anyhow, in my humble opinion when you dodge roll you should gain a very short (2" maybe) immunity to roots.

It's not about Talons only. Bombard spam is even worse. I've also been a *** (Cheney) on my Sorc spamming Encase on groups and it's hugely effective. And I'm currently farming a Maelstrom Ice Staff because with the damage buff to Wall of Elements the root + slow applied by the Ice Staff is OP.

The problem is that these roots are spammable with the sustain of 500CP builds, but dodge roll isn't because of the cost stack.

Purging it won't do much either precisely because of that reason, you'll get immediately rooted again. And most of these roots (Encase excluded) also do some pretty decent damage which the Purge wont heal. Please tell me the last time a non-mobile magic build (DK, Templar) got out of repetitive rooting thanks to purge? Yeah....

Before you say "well it works, why change it?" let me say this. Yes, roots never gave an immunity, but:
    a) Dodge-roll didn't always use to have a cool-down. That was added afterwards. And..
    b) Retreating Maneuvers immunity (which is the only real way to get freedom from root-spam for magic classes) will be removed from you the moment you receive a heal in the upcoming version. So when all these root+damage skills hit you, you either get immunity but can't heal or you heal but you have no immunity.

Basically roots are about to get a helluva lot stronger because people won't be able to speed-buff their way out of them. So I think adding a very short immunity (shorter than dodge-roll cooldown) after a dodge roll to give you a chance to gtfo, is only right.

Let me say one final, but very important, thing. Whenever CCs become too strong that is to the detriment of small scale PvP. Like the dreaded mini-stun on gap closers. When in a large group, you mostly meet things head-on. But in small-scale you gotta be able to hit & move to be viable. The stronger the CC becomes in this game the worse it is for solo players & small groups. You need to have a chance to disengage, a chance to avoid getting zerged. And a 2" immunity after a dodge-roll would give you exactly that, a small chance.

    Is this a serious thread?

What the **** is wrong with some players, stop asking for nerf/changes which will negatively impact the DK class once more, talons don't even do significative dmg is just a soft cc which allows you to cast or do whatever **** you want.

If you need to dodge talons then you have some L2P issues because nowadays you simply don't roll dodge out of a root since it's a waste of stamina.

It's true that back in days talons spam was OP to generate insane amount of ultimate but those days are over.

I've played every class and still playing all so don't think I'm defending DK class because I'm a DK.

In general stop asking for unnecessary nerfs/changes unless some skill is really OP or broken.

Templar don't need to use purge, then have purifying ritual which is a lot cheaper, costs less to purge the root than for a dk to cast it.

Sorc mines don't give immunity and neither does Bombard. Roots don't count as CC

Bombard is also 500% more effective and annoying when used as crowd control. Talons is lol. Mele range with pitiful radius. Magicka DK's on live also do below average dmg. You can choose to stand in Talons if you fancy saving stamina or not using purge.

Sorc mines...you really dont have to activate all of them unless legally blind.

But Bombard seriously the most annoying *** zerg skill in the game atm. Massive range. Moderate high dmg, cheap and constant immobilize with no cooldown. Good luck trying to move or getting out of lag clusters in PvP these days. Since the zergs started spamming Bombard, you're screwed, stuck and dead. It's like having some guy AoE'ing broken gap closers on everyone lol.

So yeah nerf Talons ok
