Cyrodiil quests

In AD and fighting for our home keeps and yet still getting capture keep, resources and scout missions for dragonclaw/warden/Farragut. How about getting some missions closer to home ZOS because this happens everytime I go to the mission boards. Where is the extra incentive to do something useful in my alliance/campaign

The missions you get are random. Sometimes they'll be closer to home, others all the way across the map. If you join a group you can share quests among you, so chances are someone will have a relevant quest; just drop the one you got and ask them to share.

drop quest, pick up quest until you get one you like. Works with scrolls anyway.

Agreed. There should be a priority order on AvA missions.

In my opinion, there should be a precedence of keep missions, detailed below (assuming your alliance owns nothing at the top of the list, and everything at the bottom), in which the ones higher up in the list are more likely to be given:
    1. Join an in-progress Assault/Defence (inner wall above 50%)
    2. (Re-)Capture Home Gate Keeps
    3. Defend Home Gate Keeps (enemy controls 2 or 3 resources)
    4. (Re-)Capture Home Hub Keep
    5. (Re-)Capture Home Ring Keeps
    6. Defend Home Hub/Ring Keeps (enemy controls 2 or 3 resources)
    7. (Re-)Capture Home Outer Keep
At this point, your alliance owns all of their Home keeps, and none of the Enemy keeps. No bonuses are given for controlling Enemy keeps if you don't control all Home keeps, so recapturing Home keeps should have mission precedence over capturing Enemy ones.
    8. Capture Enemy Ring Keeps
    9. Defend Home Outer Keep (enemy controls 2 or 3 resources)
    10. Capture Enemy Hub/Outer Keeps
    11. Defend Controlled "Enemy" Keeps (enemy controls 2 or 3 resources)
    12. Capture Enemy Gate Keeps
    13. Defend Home Keeps (enemy controls 1 resource)
    14. Defend Controlled "Enemy" Keeps (enemy controls 1 resource)

If you want missions closer to the home base - avoid scout missions, those missions are always across the other side of the map in one of the other 2 alliance territories. This is because your team or the other remaining team could b sieging the forward fortifications, where as there's little chance to siege one of the forts at the back (unless the team is trying to cut off one or two of the forward forts). So yeah best advice for wanting missions closer to home is to avoid scouting missions altogether and stick to the kills boards and whatever the general/warlord/ whoevers in charge tells you what to do.

Yeah, I'm EP and I always get Scout Castle Brindle!

I agree that scouting missions should be the next keep past your lines or maybe one keep further (to make sure the enemy doesn't have reinforcements).

The Capture quests can be shared, so if you are in a group, see what everybody gets and then do the one that is most convenient.

I usually keep my capture quest until someone else shares a better one or I actually go to the keep that needs to be captured.

    It's not really random.
For example, if you alliance controls the whole map, teh only available mission will be the kill x players, and the scout farthest keep, If you're DC it's drakelowe, if you're AD it's dragonclaw, and if you're EP it's brindle.
The capture ones, in a not one-sieded map will always throw you to one of the imperial keeps of the alliance higher in score, or if you got all emp keeps, the keeps / resources from highest score beside your own.

In short, they always give you a mission to harass either the winning team, or the team closest to outrank your alliance.
You also very unlikely will get a mission to a scroll that's already being walked. And if your home scrolls are taken, you'll always get those missions until you have all your scrolls in your temples

Scroll missions are fine but I'll be trying to get out of my own gate and yet still getting capture quests on the opposite side of the map. Despite abandoning and reaccepting the mission I still have to travel to the other side of the map for the keep.
I'm also not always in a group in order to share missions with each other because of RL stuff. It's not always possible to play while the main group is online
