Here's my plan for my character (now that I finally have one at 15 I feel like I have a solid primary character):

First bar is for situations where being stealthy is a good option: cc, ambush ability, good one on one abilities.

Second bar is for situations where direct confrontation is my only option: magic, aoe abilities, solid damage and survivability.

Will dual wielding for both bars.

I guess I just want some insight on how to go about building a hybrid nightblade. For magic abilities I will be using guild abilities, and for stamina abilities I'll be using assass tree and dual wield tree. Thanks for any and all insight!

To be honest if you go hybrid you'll be mostly just gimping yourself. Your damage is based, in part, off of the stat the skill draws from. If you do it the way you're intending you'll just do mediocre damage on both bars. I personally would suggest one or the other unless at some point they reinstate soft caps. This is highly unlikely to ever happen.

    ah, what they said.

Choose Stam or Mag and go all in.

Agree, this game is "play the way you want" but that does not mean that you will be full competitive

Concerning damage, abilities that activate with Stamina scale with weapon damage and max stamina. Those using Magicka scale with spell power and max magicka. Ultimates scale with the highest max of either stamina or magicka. As such mixing up abilities that deal damage between the two stats weakens both.

You can easily mix utility skills like Cloak, Mass Hysteria, Siphoning Attacks or Grim Focus into a Stamina build. However Stamina doesn't have near the utility skills to offer a Magicka build. A few builds use Rearming Trap, but it has niche applications.

As others have said: your damage will be reduced by doing a hybrid due to lower max stats but to what extent - I don't know. However, it also creates other output complications such as how you're going to simultaneously increase both your weapon & spell damages and critical %s when you get to in to Vet Ranks through Armour Sets, Glyphs, Mundus Stones and CPs.

I've thought about this once and then decided against it but if I were you, I'd do something like this:
    - 5 Hunding's Rage & 4 Julianos (due to the Spell benefit from DWing) on a 5/1/1 basis to make use of the Undaunted Mettle passive but I don't know what would be best for the 5, out of Light and Medium.
    - a Magicka Mundus Stone (unsure on whether damage or crit would be best)
    - Weapon glyphs and traits to try and balance the Stamina side due to the Magicka Mundus.
    - 30 CPs in both Apprentice (to get Spell Critical passive) and Ritual (to get Weapon Critical passive) although you'll have a tough and notably underperforming first 5 or so Vet ranks until you get these as they are both in Mage. Then the excess CPs once unlocked can be used in whichever "tree" to balance your stats.

Being a hybrid it's all about balance and it kind of defeats your goal if you have - for example - Weapon Damage and Crit significantly greater than your Spells.

On my StamNB I still utilise a few Magicka CC abilities on my "utility/travelling bar" such as Cloak, Mark, Mass Hysteria and Double Take. But as there's no damage related to them, I'm not negatively affected by my low Max Magicka.

On the plus side, you'll be able to buy blue recipes for Magicka & Stamina on the cheap :)

I've been playing a hybrid Nightblade (my only character) from day one and it's not been easy; I've generally had to do skills and attribute respecs. fairly regularly following major updates. My DPS is pretty poor but I've stuck with it because it's the sort of character I want to play (I believed Zeni's Play the Way You Want Too claim!). It's not helped by the fact that both Cloak and Fear seem to fail to work for me on a regular basis just wasting Magika.

Oddly, despite having 1044 Stamina Regen and a 21% Stamina Regen buff from Medium Armour's Wind Walker passive against just 1000 in Magika regen, my Magika seems to regenerate quicker that my Stamina; I do have more points in Stamina.
