A standard Bow PvE DPS rotation should be able to generate and maintain Hawk Eye stacks throughout a boss encounter, and this keeps it out of reach of Crouch burst or hybrid builds who only use Bow to keep up Volley or Poison Injection.

We like the counterplay that Magelight and Revealing Flare have against stealth and invisibility, but agree the current lockout period is too punishing.   • Piercing Mark will no longer prevent you from entering stealth or invisibility. It will match its behavior currently on the Live megaservers, and will only give the caster of the Piercing Mark unerring vision of you.
Unlike Magelight and Revealing Flare, you can constantly refresh Piercing Mark on an enemy. Being able to indefinitely prevent you from entering stealth or invisibility was too strong, especially since Piercing Mark has an extremely long range and duration.

We’d also like to clarify to say that the current interaction of Clouding Swarm and reveal abilities is intended. The global change to revealing noted above will make this less punishing for players who pick this morph, but we will be keeping a close eye on how it performs when compared to the Devouring Swarm morph.

    Good changes but bows may still only be used for buff bars and volley injection, and the odd occasions that you have to stay ranged for a bit.

    Not that I'm complaining.

    15% Sustained DPS increase on all bow damage including damage over time may just put bows on the board for single target DPS in PvE considering that Mighty will be poison and physical damage after the update.

    I'm not saying it will parse for top DPS, but will certainly be more viable.

    I'm happy that zos tries to buff bow builds, but I'm not sure if the change is as good as people think. I never tested all bosses properly, but I know that some of them, including e.g. 2nd boss in vicp can be set of balance, so you only get a dps increase if you didn't set them off balance before. But since most builds had at least 75 points in thaumaturge or mighty, you should have done that anyway to benefit from the cp passive.

    FINALLY!! A stack building mechanism. I'm actually looking forward to see how this works out for Stamina DKs with their poison change. Might be some interesting PVE DoT builds in the future.

    I just peed a little bit. I LOVE bow! It's why I went Bosmer. I don't have to parse the highest with Bow, but to hear they are trying to close the gap makes me extremely excited about this!

    Awesome changes, thanks for getting the word out on bows because I was just creating a Bosmer archer and then I kinda got put off by the fact that bows aren't as strong as they should be, but this changes things.

    Yeah, now they need to give us alchemic poison usage on bows and all will be fine again - not unisono poison damage, but the ability to use a specific poison on a bow to be applied to the target via the next arrow shot - just like in other TES games.

    They significantly changed a bow passive skill Hawk Eye, not the armor set.
