Soul Siphon vs. Rite of Passage (Healing Ultimates)

With the changes to the Nightblade ultimate Soul Siphon (caster now receives healing as well), how well does it stack up as a team-healing ultimate compared to the Templar's ultimate Rite of Passage? I'm a console player so I'm hoping some of you PC Nightblades out there have checked out the changes to Soul Siphon and can share your experience using it. Thanks.

It was amazing before as a NB healer. I don't see why it wouldn't be now.

I've loved using the Nightblade ultimate on my healer. I find it much more convenient because I love to move around, and Soul Siphon allows me to just run in and bam!, and then leave afterwards. Before, this put me at risk because I wouldn't be healed, and I'd be soaking up whatever damage came my way when I threw myself into the fray. Now, it'll be less daunting.

The templar healing ult is something i use as an ''o crap my magicka is low''

I haven't used Soul Siphon a whole lot because I don't play my magicka Nightblade super often, but I can tell you that the Templar Rite of Passage is pure garbage and inferior to barrier in all situations. So I'm guessing the Nightblade ult is at least a step above that.

As a templar I never use rite of passage. I keep it slotted just incase but the only time I use it is on accident.

The only ultimate I use in dungeons is war horn with the 30% crit morph.

On the topic does right of passage with the full passive that gives you a temp armour boost does that put you over the armour cap or does it Cap you.

Say I have 25k resistance and I cast it will it give me 41.5k resist or cap out at the 33k?

Rite of Passage is substantially better for healing, but mainly because the Light Weaver passive gives you 12500 armor and spell resistance while channeling it. (So you can basically be invincible for 6 seconds and heal everyone while you're at it if your armor and spell resist are high enough.) Soul Siphon is a good heal though. My main issue with it is that the range is a lot shorter than I'm comfortable with, so I have gotten into the habit of using Lotus Fan right before I use it.

Remembrance is useful for unavoidable high damage situations like vet fungal grotto last boss hard mode but other than that I don't use it often. As a night blade I've always thought veil of blades/ bolstering darkness was a better healers ultimate.
