Bow synergises well with nightblade stuff and you don't need much max stamina for it to be useful. (heavy attack from stealth does a stun, and scatter shot and bombard do a fixed cc effect) Then again it doesn't buff your overall damage so it's probably a waste compared to dual swords
On the other hand, about the only thing the destro staff does which you can't do with nightblade class stuff is knockback (flame touch). You can't stealth attack with a destruction staff.

I wish damn hybrid builds were viable, because a magicka nightblade with enough stamina for the bow to be decent would be a nice build

@The_Saint May I ask why you use destro on the main bar? Doesn't a resto staff fit way better with thaumaturg cp's? Or do you use fully charged heavy attacks with a fire staff?
I keep reading that as a Night"staff" one should use destruction staves but I don't see the point when you only need light weaving thanks to merciless resolve. At least I use resto on the main bar and dw on the off.
Feel free to correct my non-native english.

    I have fire malstrom staff...

Without msa staff, yes healerstaff and light attacks make more damage because thaumaturg and is better then fire.. especially when you wear kena and do only light attacks...

Don't know about PVE, but for PVP I like to use DW for the extra damage and Resto for the heals.

i dont know where you play, or what you play, or if you meant this answer for PVE or PVP, but there are so many things wrong with that answer.

OP asked for mag nb, and you answering with bow? you need a *** of stam and weapon damage for bow abilities to be good.
You can go 2 ways with mag nb in pvp. dw + restor, or destro + restro. dw is burst, destro sustain, both viable in their own way.
Then you can stealth attack with destro staff. Gives you a pretty heavy hit as opener in pvp.
You can weave with destro, gives you a ton of ressources back from SA, pve and pvp.

Yeah thanks people for helping not sure why bows were mention because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do much consider I'm magicka based and I would need all of it to dodge roll etc.

I run DW/Res for PVP but I also run it for PVE now (with a couple skill changes) unless I really need the des staff. You can get away with DW/Res for pretty much everything, save a couple circumstances.

Is better to go resto than destro then? Having 100 thaumaturge is better to use resto for light attacks than destro fire (being dunmer)?

Heavy destro fire hits really hard being dunmer.

You can also go 1 hand and shield passives on your second bar for AOEing if the mobs are too much but usually twin swords are enough

I run a destro on both bars on my magic NB, First bar is AoE and second bar is Single target , I use the best of the Destro staff skills mixed in with some NB skills, I pretty much just do PvE content so don't listen to me if you plan to do PvP.

I had 2 swords which did boost my spell damge "but" I couldn't use some of the destro staff skills I liked so switched back to staff and staff. Flame staff obviously being a Dark elf.

Depends on what your playstyle is. i run dual wield/resto as a sap essence nightblade. Dual wield swords will give you higher Spell damage with higher raw dps. Also gives you an extra set piece to play with. On the flip side, Thieves guild will favor destro medium weaving attack builds due to the merging of magicka damage into elemental cp tree. However, the changes to cloak will be very unforgiving to nightblades if they allow the current lock out feature to exist.

So it really depends if you want to be a ranged weaving build or a concealed weapon and or in your face sap essence build. Concealed weapon/sap essence = dual wield, range = destro.
