What headsets have you tried and now currently use to play ESO?

I play on Xbox One and currently use an Astro A50 Limited Halo Edition Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound headset. I tried the Microsoft Stereo Headset first and really loved it. I then tried to use Turtle Beaches, but the 3 I tried I found to be terrible in audio quality and would break easy. Turtle Beach XO FOUR Stealth I found to be the best out of the 3, but it wasn't even close to the quality of the Microsoft Stereo Headset. Turtle Beach XO ONE was lacking majorly, even with the volume and game setting on the mixer at max I almost couldn't hear anything. I used to use the Turtle Beach 500X and really liked it for a while, but then it started to break on both headbands above the ear cups after 1 month of use. Sometimes the transmitter with the 500X would bug out and would just disconnect the wireless Surround Sound signal forcing me to disconnect the USB cable from my Xbox One, turn off my Xbox, and reconnect the USB cable, then turn my Xbox One on again. Now I use the Astro A50 and really couldn't be happier it sounds better than when I used to play on PC and used the Razer Kraken Pro with Razer Surround Pro. Combined with ESO's excellent graphical quality on the Xbox One and the Astro A50 it really makes everything in the game so immersive I hardly ever use my Vizio 38 inch soundbar anymore. What headsets have you guys tried and now use to play ESO with?

Sennheiser PC350 with an Asus Sonar DG soundcard playing dolby surround.

Best headset I've ever owned. All the turtlebeeches I've owned were complete and utter trash.

I found that all combo headphones and mic units were crap. The mic always stopped working and I needed a whole new set every year or less.

So instead I purchased a seperate USB desk mic for $15 and Audiotechnica stereo headphones ATH AD900. I had the first headphones for over 5 years before I had to replace them. I've had the new ones for 3 years now I think. I think I replaced the mic just for general purposes once.

Never seen anything like that, very interesting. Almost looks like the basic chat headset that comes with consoles these days, but is different slightly in that it's in an unnamed package and even shows the controls on the box. I find that to be very interesting, learn something new every day I guess.

Had a Sennheiser PC360 which lasted for about 5 years, later bought the very similar Sennheiser Game One. I thought about buying something like a Modmic and perhaps a different headset, but the all-in-one setup of these headsets are just too convenient.

Both are 3.5mm (not USB) connectors to make use of my Sound Blaster Z.

Go to www.reddit.com/r/headphones and browse the gaming headphone guide in the sidebar (right-hand side). I always recommend getting a good quality pair a headphones that will last for years and you can use for more than just gaming, and then using something like the AntLion ModMic or some other external mic for voice functionality.

I had a cheap $15.00 pair of headphones without a MIC back when I used to play on PC and they quit working after less than an hour of use. Tried a couple other cheap pairs of different brands on PC and they all ended up quit working within an hour or shortly after an hour of use, barely had the volume at 20 on my computer on them so they weren't even loud. Never had good luck with cheaper electronics sadly :(

Oh I'm not asking for headphone advise, I'm just curious what other people use when playing ESO or use in general.

I heard the Logitech G430 is really good, is it Surround Sound? Is it Stereo, but can be used with Surround Sound software and devices like Soundblaster Pro external sound card and Razer Surround Pro?

The mic was a $15 one from best buy. Mics dont need to be expensive. You do need a good headset.
The headset was not cheap. It was $130 but worth every penny imo.

Razer Blackshark, they're incredibly comfortable. The Alienware TactX were much lighter weight, but the sound wasn't as good and they're not nearly as comfortable over long periods. I got the Blackshark for my husband for Father's Day last year, well I helped our (then) one year old pick them out :) Then he helped her pick me out the same thing for Mother's Day after I discovered how comfy his were lol.

I still have my Astro A50's that I bought back in 2012. Unfortunately my awful computer does not have an optical port so I'm not truly getting the full experience out of them that I get on my consoles, but the sound quality and comfort levels (I wear these things for 10 hours+ almost daily) has been unparalleled compared to the other stuff I've tried. I've sampled dozens of Turtle Beach products and a few off brands, the only thing that came close to the A50's was a pair of Mad Cat'z Triton headset back when 5.1 Dolby was the premium. The only issue with the A50's is if you have a bad chipset in your motherboard then the quality will be lower (since you don't get the 7.1 dolby/etc) and your mic will be doomed to be low res and really quiet. Being a guild lead I constantly am ripped into for having a terribly quiet mic, but it's my computer's fault, not the headset.

I misunderstood your post I apologize. Good that you have some sort of advantage above your teammates, in a sense you can sneak attack other players. It possibly could allow you to warn your fellow group and the rival players possibly might not know your there, unless they have a headset that allows them to hear their surroundings as well. I rarely play the Imperial City or Cyrodill content, but when I do having an Astro A50 really helps to avoid unwanted fights or allow you to gain a slight advantage when you do need to fight. Sadly my character isn't exactly made for Cyrodill or Imperial City, so I end up getting killed a lot, despite having the occasional get away lucky free card.

Yeah I spent $340.00 on the Astro A50 including a warranty at the cost of not getting the White Bear Mount and Cub (hope they bring them back at some point), plus a lot of games that had major sale prices I wanted to get. I know it was well worth it as it's easily the best headset I have ever used, minus a couple annoying bugs that are easily fixable. I Never tried the XO7, but the XO4 Stealth that I tried was the best out of the 3 Turtle Beach headsets I tried, but I had to put the volume up to almost max to hear it over the background TV shows that my family watches almost all the time. I only need to keep the Astro A50 at about 50%-60% volume and I can't hear any background noise almost. Does the Super Human Hearing feature make a big impact in PVP meaning allowing you to hear footsteps and so forth? I know it advertises as such, but I am wondering from a users perspective.

It's an "okay" headset. The sound quality is good I guess, although I don't know exactly what "good" is cause I'm no audiophile. The actual mic has horrible quality, like a 5/10. Surprisingly the plug-in earphone mic that comes with the PS4 has wayyy better quality, like a 9/10. Also it hurts my ears after awhile because I have a big head and thick hair lol

I have the Corsair Void Wireless. Upgraded from my Logitech G430s.

    Sound Quality: superb
    Software: Decent
Build Quality: better than Logitech. Rugged plastic. Was worried about breaking them initially but after going through a toddler test I'm fairly convinced that they're the most durable headphones I've ever owned.
Mic: as expected, better noise canceling (was an issue with G430s)
Wireless Quality: best I've owned. This was the original reason why I upgraded from the 430s. And Corsair was on sale and Logitech couldn't beat the price. Comparing 930s to the Void.
Overall: these are my best headphones I've owned. There were some bumps early on but software updates from Corsair fixed all issues. I was surprised to find that I could even go outside and stay connected and uninterrupted in Skype.
