Why SHOULDN'T players be rewarded for saving stuff?

@Wrobel - please stop spitting in the faces of the PvP crowd you are suppose to be taking care of.

We've been waiting a very long time for new PvP gear to be added into the game. The fact that we cannot use our hard earned AP to purchase it is absolutely outrageous. It is your fault that we have so much AP saved. As you have not released anything worth spending AP on in quite a long time. Especially with the VR cap raise to VR16, making all of the VR14 PvP gear outdated and crippling to builds.

Give us something useful to spend AP on. Not silly motifs, not terrible potions and food. Give us PvP rewards worth our AP. It's time you start thinking about the player base you've been leaving behind.

I think ZOS admin posts should be in two categories:

- One that doesn't show admin posts since they're nothing but useless reminders to be nice
- One that shows actual feedback and awareness of the thread content which shows in the thread lists as they do now.

Tired of running through posts hoping to find an actual response from ZOS to the complaints we have only to find it's a useless "please be nice to each other" post.

I get what you are saying but honest people would be so *** off ZoS think of saving mats and AP if the was actually gave us usefull rewards/loot when we was killing world boss but most of time when i kill world boss i get if im lucky some gold and mini boss/boss in public dungeon is pointless to kill for gave you nothing same go for mini boss in dungeon the gave you nothing only the end boss do.

Fact is most people only way to get good gear in ESO atm is through craft or buy PvP gear and it have to do with way loot drops are in this game.

Kill most boss in this game is just 1 time thing beside VR dungeon Boss or Trial Boss every other Boss in this game is just 1 time kill so it make us eat up content really fast and if you are not in guild run VR Dungeon or Trail on weekly base the only way you can get good gear is through craft or buy PvP gear and remove gear from vendor or set really overkill number on mats you need to craft is not way to go.

In end people will just save up more for no way for them get rid of.

But seriously I hope this thread demonstrates the level of legitimate frustration players have with regards to the "everyone must start from scratch with every new DLC" philosophy. It's not just PvP'ers suffering cos they can't spend their AP, the same philosophy means that PvE'ers are suffering because all their loot is BoP and they cannot profit from being able to run dungeons more efficiently than everyone else.

Right now the only truly rich players in ESO are farmers and traders. I am a trader, and probably the richest player on my server, but even I can see that the current uselessness of AP and the nightmare of BoP is causing serious harm to the game. And it's not even hard to fix! Just make everything except undaunted sets and master/maelstorm weapons BoE and update all alliance war sets to VR16! Simples!

Everyone is apparently supposed to start as equal or from scratch with a new DLC. But how come this rule only applies to AP?

People like myself, that "saved" gold instead of AP, will be able to buy new Alliance War gear in a day or two. Gear from PvP is still BoE.

Players will never start equal when a new DLC comes out.

Gold cap next? Making sure veteran traders and selfish Belkarth capitalist aren't getting any advantages over poor new players.
Craft cap? Because not equal that some guys spent time researching 9 traits and others didn't have the time.
Crowns cap. Stop waiting for special deals and sales. Buy more drag costumes and bear mounts.
Undaunted key cap.

In every other aspect of the game, you will always be rewarded for "saving". So at least give PvP'ers something meaningful to use their AP on.

I have 200k Alliance Points now but i think player who saved millions of AP shouldnt be punished.

Well the thing is, forcing players to grind for new stuff with every DLC doesn't actually help casual players at all.

If VR16 PvP sets can be obtained from AP bags, then it means that all those hardcore PvP'ers who hoarded millions of AP can obtain them straight away when the update drops. Rich players like me can obtain them soon after by buying from PvP'ers with excess AP, and casual players who have neither AP nor gold can gradually farm/buy the pieces over a few weeks or months. If VR16 PvP sets can only drop in Rewards of the Worthy and campaign rewards as @Wrobel plans, then hardcore PvP'ers will get those in a few days or weeks assuming they haven't ragequit the game over this absurd decision, rich players will probably be able to afford the rare VR16 pieces those PvP'ers farm (assuming not BoP) and the casuals will never be able to obtain those sets because they don't PvP enough to get them and they aren't rich enough to buy them!

Isn't it obvious which solution is better for all??

Oh yeah and for PvE gear sets... if everything is BoP like in Orsinium, it means that elite PvE'ers will be able to obtain them after a few weeks assuming they sacrifice a virgin everyday to appease the rng gods. Everyone else never gets them. I am a fairly active player who does a reasonable amount of PvE, specifically 41 vWGT runs, I still don't have complete sets of Overwhelming or Spellpower Cure, so I haven't even bothered trying to get the sets from vICP. What hope do casuals have of ever being able to use such sets if they aren't good enough to even do the content regularly and they can never buy it from those who can?

From someone that plays casually and rather loathes the zergfest horseshit grouping that is rampant in PvP, I don't feel like I'm at an improper disadvantage compared to someone that participated more in PvP and saved AP and is now able to buy all that nice stuff. I mean sure, I wish I could obtain a vast amount of AP but I'm not willing to stomach being in the zergs. So that's on me, not the guy that's doing the right thing. Tbh, I'm quite shocked how incompetent Wrobel displays himself. Although, I found it hysterical that the two ladies in the interview looked like they didn't want to be there and there faces each time Wrobel said something stupid or illogical.

What kind of qualifications are needed to become a lead designer? Was pre-pubescent humor a requisite?

Brats think they deserve equal without equal efforts. It feels good knowing you'll be rewarded for thinking ahead. Like saving for a house or car.

Let me spend my ap n something i want. If you spent your ap or didn't earn any (enough) then do better next time.

Planning and thinking ahead should be rewarded. You should feel stupid for not doing that and stop complaining for your frivolous spending.

Well i think this thread title is mistaking Saving... for Investing... two different things, i say... very different things i repeat... Which is why you dont put your eggs in one basket or you end up making threads like this and when the market looks bearish... well idk where that was headed but in all seriousness, they probably have a surge of new players all of a sudden which means ... money... and they will probably not want to run them away...

Neither happened for me, I have so much AP because I don't have anything to spend it on (not spending it on ridiculously priced motifs designed to AP sink) - directly a result of refusing to scale vendor bags for so long. Everything worked so much better with those bags yet Wrobel is absolutely determined to make it 200x more complicated because of his own shortcomings.

I finally broke down and spent my AP points all but 300k. I have been saving because I know the gear is VR14 currently and thought I would save it up to use on some VR16 items when they came out. I am disappointed but also relieved because I do not have to save it up anymore. If they won't release new equipment for PVP because we have so many AP points, then why don't they just wipe them. Personally I think releasing the monster items sets is possibly why they are making them purchasable with AP. And the very expensive motifs that are currently there. I would just be happy if they released a TRI-Stat potions or some really good food or scaled the current equipment at least to VR15.

Please don't give them any ideas. Just because you spent all of your AP and gave in doesn't mean everyone else should have their hard worked "wiped." We don't need more AP sinks, we need a way to spend AP meaningfully. The Undaunted vendor was a step in the right direction but 200k AP a week is a joke to most PvPers and what happens when you don't need what is being sold that week or at all in general? Biggest problem here is Wrobel can literally look at the feedback yet makes these terribly uninformed decisions while claiming his team crawls the forums to properly assess feedback from players. There is no logical reason to not scale the vendor bags.

Spending the time to develop a mechanic to delay gear progression is a waste of time.

All it does it make it harder for those with limited resources to get things. Those with nearly unlimited resources will be decked out in no time no matter what system you add to control it.

There are many beta players that have been playing since beta that are in the same situation as I am... which is million of AP and million of gold and a full slotted bank full of mats and a couple alts full of other stuff. Not to mention max crafting across the board.

We're gonna get ours quick no matter the mechanic put in place, you hurt everyone else by creating it... which is counter to the point to it in the first place.

I don't have any AP at all. Well, a few thousand, but not enough to do anything with.

Now, with that being said, I can't imagine why they would limit the amount of AP that players can spend if they had saved some up. Otherwise it removes the incentive to prepare for the future.

Also, I have to wonder who's AP totals are being compared and who they are being compared to? I can imagine that most players who rarely step foot in Cyrodiil will have almost 0 AP, and those who are in there everyday will have tons.

If ZOS wants to put a limit on the AP being spent, then use RNG on the Vendor to give you your selection to choose from.
