Well, my non vet chars will have to play in a no cp campaign, but my vet chars will most likely get a gear set that is suited for a cp campaign.

I would rather play a non- CP campaign over any CP campaign.

I'll play non cp until I reach cap on NA, but I'll be in non cp forever on EU. But it really depends on where the most activity is and where it's the most fun to play.

Well I disagree because ZOS decided to mix PvP and PvE in Cyrodil and IC.

If they had a PvE Cyrodil and IC and only had campaigns for PvP then yes but because it's mixed, No.

They are now stuck with cp and non-cp campaigns as their only options

Don't feel like crafting all new gear to be competitive again. I also don't see the fun in abandoning a part of character progression in an RPG.

The PVE portion of Imperial City and Cyrodiil is not reason enough to use CP in any Campaign. I think that all Campaigns should avoid CP by default, with no option to use them at all. With PVE, even in Cyrodiil/IC, the developers always control one side of the equation. They know how many CP are out there and they can take all that into account when making PVE scenarios.

Capping does two things. It helps control the variability in PVE. They create dungeons designed for a certain CP range. They can make assumptions about how many CPs the character will have. The cap limits the character to reasonable values. As the CP cap rises, all of the existing trial, arena, dungeon, and boss content will be slowly nerfed for higher CP players, unless they go back in and buff them. They will not buff them. Still, the cap slows the adoption of CPs and that is a good thing. It helps to retain PVE difficulty by limiting players who could be immediately OP in these PVE areas.

It also helps to control the gap between the CP-haves and the CP-have-nots in PVP. ZOS has to use the cap to control the gap because they have variable CP on both sides, now. They never know when two players meet how many CP they will have relative to each other.

Sadly, capping CP is nothing but a temporary measure for PVP. Even with the catch-up mechanism, we will (hopefully) always have people entering in the game with no CP at all. As the cap rises, the gap increases. While new players can earn CP faster, it will still take time to catch up. Today, there is a gap of 500 CP. Pretty soon, there will be a gap of 1000 CPs. Eventually, the gap will be 3600 CPs. If the gap between 0 CP and 500 CP is so wide that a cap and catch up mechanic is needed, what does that say about the gap between 0 and 3600 CP?

This is why I think that CPs should be not used in any place that PVP is used in this game. That is a whole lot easier than trying to make Battle Leveling take CPs into account.

Yes i will but it will exploit the class imbalance in a different way..

Stamina based classes are more popular in PvP because of the CP and rightly so, the cp systems makes them so good.

without cp... magicka classes will rofltomp in pvp..

Absolutely. Although this could just cause more people to use cheats like multiple mundus stones because they lack the skill to play without CP. Then again, I'd rather fight someone with 0 CP and cheats than one with max CP and cheats.....

I realize that by not having CP it also affects my damage, regen and what not but I don't care. People shouldn't have endless resources, massive damage mitigation and spell/weapon damage all in one setup. If that was supposed to be the case, then why doesn't every dropped/crafted set cover all of those within one 5 set bonus.....

I feel that non-vet should be non-CP. New vet accounts should have the option for non-vet. On my vet characters I have built them with CP in mind and I don't want to rebuild the character for non CP.

    Again I passionately disagree

I only enter Cyrodil and IC for PvE. I've on occasions done a PvP only group but for someone like me who has little to no interest in PvP, why would I need to loose my CPs?

That makes no sense at all so that is one reason why I disagree
CP caps have nothing to do with any of this...as you seem to believe that most players are in close relation to one another.
They aren't so if I'm a PvE focused person who is forced to enter Cyrodil and IC to complete PvE objectives, I want my CPs because it helps me and if I'm with others, it helps us both.

No idea why you're even talking about CP caps because that doesn't matter for what I'm sharing at all.

The problem is what you elude to but you're understanding isn't accurate. CP caps are in ways to help balance PvP but...who cares if you're not there to PvP. Cyrodil needs a faction based PvE that eliminates all PvP from the map that is not campaign based. Just like other questing zones.

Now you can address CP and non-CP PvP campaigns in your other concerns that don't apply to PvE. It's only a topic of discussion because ZOS keeps attempting to push the two together but by design, it's never going to work out well for all

Specific to PvP tho...you have this gap of skill and stat points that CP do offset in PvP so you can't just say....nope PvP never gets CP.

The issue overall is that skills need to work different in PvP than PvE
Characters need to be set in PvP and allow us to gear up and select skills but the PvP character shouldn't resemble the PvE. Sounds tough but if your going to throw ppl into a zone with objectives, then other than gear and weapons...we need to all play from the same set of skills and options.

CP has nothing to do with ZOS' poor PvP design.

Look at Dark Age of Camelot which is what this is suppose to work like. Where DAOC excels this game falls because instead of meshing all servers into one mega campaign, they seperate us into small groups.

If Cyrodil were the entire NA (all factions) then CP would work and as designed it would work but when u let ppl skip and jump factions by campaigns but mesh guilds with no faction lock...and PvE skills that don't differ from PvP...it's a mess on top of another mess

I want to see how balanced it'll be with no CPs, and I actually can't wait for this change because Azura's Star (the most laggiest campaign in the whole of Tamriel) will finally get rid of a lot of players when this change comes. :)
