Regarding Spellcrafting

We know they are currently not working on Spellcrafting and it is most likely going to be abandoned like the PvP portion of the Justice system .

If this will be the case (And I'm not asking for this anytime soon) I would like to wonder what will happen to the massive number of abilities that were going to be implemented with the system. I wonder because Spellcrafting was going to be how ZOS added in the other schools of Magic bedsides Destruction and Restoration such as Illusion, Conjuration and Alteration.

I would love to see these types of skills added (Not anytime soon, don't worry) because of the variation it would add to builds. Also I just love the idea of all those new abilities. (Again, not anytime this year / soon due to balancing etc)

If Spellcrafting isn't removed then great. When it's added this one will be a happy Khajiit.

However if Spellcrafting is not added, how do you think ZOS will implement the number of skills if at all?

Maybe something like the vamp/WW questline you could server a certain Aedra/Daedra and obtain a new skill line, example you could go and do a quest around Azura to get a magic skill line.
    Some of my favorite screenshots
My opinions and posts are mostly on a PvE setting.

I hope it is just on ice, because they want toimprove the current skills. They mentioned it before, that they wont bring new skills till this happend. So maybe there is still a chance in 2017. I extremly hope so. It is so important for the freedom of the character customization.

@keybaud There is already so much code and work done on the Spellcrafting system, plus it is very much requested. Dropping the PvP portion of the Justice System is totally different from this. Many would actually leave if they announced that Spellcrafting was finished due to its significance within Elder Scrolls games.

It has been delayed for a year due to the huge amount of current balance issues (why not add Spellcrafting now, then rebalance?). Give them time, it'll come :)

I hope that the ZOS people hear you and think the same

I agree. My brain is skeptical but I'm giving ZOS the benefit of the doubt here. They know it's a much requested feature, and if implemented correctly, the only risk is some balance issues. Justice PvP, while I lament it's dead, had many more potential issues and according to forum and reddit discussions was a topic on which the playerbase was heavily divided. Spellcrafting will come.

For one I hope they won't add more classes. Classes are useful for obvious reasons: role determination, helping new players, balance etc., but compartmentalizing skills takes the fun out of it a bit. Character progression is also most meaningful as long as you learn new skills etc. They could expand on the Mages' Guild quest line or maybe do something new with the Arcane University (if we ever get to see the island) or maybe something new with the Psjijic Order and release set skill lines that way, instead of allowing us to tinker. But I love tinkering.

My dream mmo would be eso with no classes, just the usual TES skills. Blade, Block, Destruction, Sneak etc etc. There would be spellcrafting for all these spell schools and the equivalent for weapon"schools". This would make combat completely open, no balance issues, just freedom to play how you want and be what you want and evolve in time.

I know this wont happen in this title, but maybe for the future in another game. One can only hope:)

Take any TES game, same will apply to them. And Skyrim was great in 2011, still is to some degree.

Except for the entire class thing, but alright.
