Crafting orders

Firstly, I am not posting this in the "crafting" category, 'cuz most crafters know this stuff.. it is for the customer, who may have no idea what crafting is about...
Crafters are still players and would love to be out there beatin' up stuff; but when someone needs a good set of gear, they will answer if they're not in the middle of something...
but if you want something crafted consider these things before placing your order:

1... what level am I ?... after lvl 1 crafters can only make even numbered stuff 'til V1
2... what style do I want it made in?
3... do I want any particular set items that may give me neat buffs?
4... what trait do I want to apply to each piece?
5... what quality do I want?

The crafter is a crafter; he makes stuff; some will know what might be good for you and your build and aspirations; but some don't; so do your study beforehand and then let the crafter make it... saves a lot of time and angst; and just may save you a few bucks if the crafter receives a well put together order

Usually best to send an email in game so the crafter has something they can refer to, stead of tryin' to hunt you down...

Agree with this, number of times people ask for a set and I have to go have and ask what level, trait and style they want.. if they don't specify then it will be Argonian, Exploration/Well Fitted.
I don't craft anymore unless people are specific.

Very well said OP.

It really helps crafters when we have all the intel needed for the oreder, I normally get people to mail me , with all releveant details confirmed before I startt.

Or failing that, being methodical and in comms with the client., but unless people are specific, I do not craft anymore.

Totally agree.

I craft a lot for people in my guild, and I find it easiest to do it when people send me tons of details on what exactly they want along with crafting materials by mail (some of them do this really beautifully too, it makes me happy

).

The worst ones are people who refuse to type anything out in the mails and send only mats and whispers; the absolute worst ones are the people who demand that you do it immediately

i agree completely lol! For my buddy from work as a joke i make him argonian crap! but if i'm feeling serious i'll make gear that i would like to wear for whatever style it is. But thats just for rl friends.

Another note: don't say you are looking for a "medium armor crafter", and presume they will also be able to make you weapons, too. Not all craters can craft everything, and many people have crafting spread across chars to make the inventory control a little nicer.

Basically, be specific in your requests.

would be heavenly to be able to post on a board if you want armors and weapons made for you and what your willing to pay.
this could be an awesome thing if we could do that.
awesome money maker for us craftsmen also.
