Should weapon size scale with your character?

I see many small characters (and I have a few) running around with weapons that are just too large for their size. On many small characters daggers can seem as big as swords and swords can be bigger than the character (don't get me started on staves). And the opposite applies to very large characters. Their weapons can seem too small. So, should weapons scale with your character? Thoughts?

Technically speaking the draw length of a bow should be 4/5 of the arm span of the archer. Don't know about swords though, all I know is that yoda looks really silly with that little tiny lightsaber in Star Wars episode 2

Me Stam DK has a greatsword larger than the avatar.

It makes no physical sense, but its hilarious to look at.

I have a mule that I made as short as possible (and as ugly as possible so I would not feel bad about deleting him but it's been 18 months now and he is still here)

Anyway, he has a big old honkin two handed sword on his back that almost drags on the ground and I like it that way.

Nope, weapons are made as weapons....
IF ZOS were to allow weapon size, I personally would push that these types of adjustments should relate to min and max damage.

Personally I'd just wish for some more options. I mean, my smallish dunmer girl IS using daggers for just that reason (well, and it fits the character idea better) - if I could have an smaller option for staves (cough, Spell Focus Idea, couch), I'd be happy. Same with bows, I'd love to have more bow options... only one-size-fits-all bow is annoying, i'd love me some shortbows (less range but maybe quicker firing for skills?), longbows, crossbows (more armor penetration, but reload time?)...

But speaking from a realism point of view, if a weapon was scaled to a character size, then the weapon damage would have to be scaled to weapon size.
Meaning smaller swords do less damage then bigger swords.
Makes sense, right?
Would make people very unhappy too, I'd wager, if it went that way...

And btw Im pretty sure weapons do scale as well, at least shields. I have a wood elf and when I switch to Xivkin poly, the size change is noticeable.

Agreed... I'd like it if they didn't, and some combinations lookes a little... wierd (petite bosmer on a horse looking like kid learning to ride, while burly nord on a senche looking like animal cruelty...)

Girls like big mounts and thick purses.

I actually like that weapons don't scale. Makes sense that the thin and short have to awkwardly drag the end of a zweihänder in the dirt while the walking mountain type characters pick up the same thing and it looks like a child's toy in their hands.

Very true, they cannot even handle it with the current weapons even if they are that simple like an orcish resto staff - I use one with my Argonian male and the staff clips into the shoulder of my male argonian when he is running. This is a very simplistic, if not to say generic kind of staff, not a lot to it, it is orcish, plain and simple - and it still is clipping into his shoulder.
