Maintenance for the week of April 6:

I hit v16, what is the best way to gear up?

Espresso
Espresso
Is it queuing for random vet dungeons?

Doing Imperial City quests? (tried this kept dying)

Quest in Wrothgar?

I'm feeling pretty lost.

Go into sewers and buy mats with stones. For every 10000 stones that's 200 mats. You can have everything you need in less then a week if you farm with one friend and carry atleast 1000 stones each time you go out for the multiplier.

If you are a crafter... farm Wrothgar for VR16 materials till you have enough. It can be a long grind because you will need a LOT of materials. Then run the Imperial City till you have enough Telvar Stones to buy the VR16 runes. Then craft the sets you want, enchant them, dye them. Take a screen snapshot & roll an Alt :D

My VR16 DK gets very little use atm... I prefer to run with my non-vet Alts in Cyrodiil these days.

It really depends on what sets you want. Have you looked into gear options for your build at all?

Is it dropped sets? Crafted? A mix? The answer will lie in where those sets can be found.

Well, I'm a Magika NB and not a crafter. So, I don't know where that leaves me.

You leveled it wrong if you hit VR16 and have no gear.

Here are some of the options to get gear:

    1. Grind IC sewers - you get trophies and stones that can be traded for gear.
    2. Do daily pledges - they are popular, you can always find people to group up with - you get keys as reward that can open a box with a very good set item if lucky.
    3. Do daily boss quests in Wrothgar for good set items.
    4. Buy less popular and cheap armor sets from the guild stores.
    5. Ask someone to craft you cheap VR15 gear set or even VR16 if you can afford it.

Now here is why I say you leveled it wrong:
You could put 1-3 activities in your leveling rotation and make leveling twice efficient.

You cannot farm wrothgar quests below v16 to get gear for v16 because the rewards are scaled.

Actually thats true with most of what is listed except there are work arounds like saving your undaunted keys until v16 and telvar stones.

I personally grinded sewers and found this the most fun to do as i went with friends in a guild. But i agree its good to decide what build you want to go for first and work from there. You might farm telvar only to find you need to grind wrothgar for quest rewards or vice versa. Decide what you want and work backwards :)

Edit: don't worry about specifics like not being a crafter someone in your guilds can craft for you and/or you can hire someone for a small fee.

Yes you might be right about Wrothgar...I heard that the items inside the reward boxes are scaled with your level upon the quest completion...but I did not test it.

Yeah same here, I leveled my alt in the sewers, got my Agility set and Shield breaker set there while grinding Vr1-Vr16.
Got ganged several times...quite annoying but still better then just grinding for XP old school way.

Check out the guild stores and try to buy a decent 5 piece set, also get some of the off stat agility/willpower items. On PC NA any one of these pieces should not cost you more than 5k, 10k if you want to splurge a little. If you can, find another set with good 2 & 3 bonuses, or craft VR15 gear to fill in the rest. Should cost you 100k, or less, for starter endgame gear. Now you should be able to work towards better stuff without dying.

Run around in Wrothgar for about 40 hours because only every one in 10 equipment material nodes is top tier. Good job Zenimax. Good job.

Sewers is of course another way but you said you want to gear up before entering pvp... And those evil pvp so and so's in the sewers will steal every stone on you.

As a magical NB you can get a buddy and go to a enemy faction buff server and gank the PVEr for Stones. For 2 hours of Ganking I made 30k ap and 12k stones. That's just from AD spawn loop.

@ZOS_RichLambert That's two hours of BS around and made more than your so called average for PVPers.

    @Jaronking

1, anecdotal experience does not equal data
    2, Nightblade ganking
3, Enemy buff server, meaning fighting scrubs and possibly low pop bonuses
4, the ones you killed are making far less which is what brings the average down. Check out the usually pop locked server on a Sunday. You may find a few groups in an outpost or resource farming hundreds of other players, probably weekend only PvPers. That'll also bring down the numbers which are an average per day.

PS, you guys need to stop boasting about how much AP you can make. They are already considering an AP cap :/

I spent a very mentally unhealthy period making a full gold set of crafted light armour and staves. (5x julianos armour, 2x kagrenac's hope armour, kagrenac's hope ice and restoration staves, and 3 pieces of purple willpower jewllery, all with gold enchantments)
This requires something like 1000 units of ancestor silk, 300 or so units of sanded ruby ash, 11 repora runes, 11 kuta runes, 8 units of mastic, 16 units of rosin, 28 units of elegant lining, 56 units of dreugh wax, and at least 6 traits researched in all your gear (may as well do torug's pact instead of kagrenac's hope, which needs fewer traits and is arguably better, but i ended up doing that because of how i transitioned my gear from the VR14 stuff i was running).

    How I did it:
    - VR16 potency runes: tel var stones in IC. this is probably the funnest part of the grind process. if your VR14 build is decent you can grind solo at quiet times which means vastly better tel var stone yields. unless you get ganked. also you get some VR15 gear to deconstruct for mats along the way
    - gold aspect runes: enchant dailies and hireling
    - ancestor silk and dreugh wax: combination of hireling, dailies, buying silk with tel var stones, collecting the silk (and void bloom) in wrothgar and when all else failed just buying dreugh wax from guild stores. There was a period when you could save money by bulk buying low level raw mats such as rawhide scraps which you can refine to try and get dreugh wax from but it seems that you can now just buy the dreugh wax directly for about the same money. don't worry about the silk too much, you will get all the silk you need some time before you get all your dreugh wax.
    - ruby ash and rosin: similar approach to silk and wax but much quicker.
    - jewellery: i cheaped out on it. got an arcane necklace but robust and healthy rings. As long as I could have rings with spell damage set bonuses and stick gold spell damage enchants on them the rest was gravy

By the time you've got 4 or 5 pieces of armour maxed and the rest purple you might as well give up grinding and just do dailies until your dreugh wax comes in.
It was hell, but I know that the day will one day come when I decide I don't care about life any more and start phase 2, grinding for the molag kena helm and dragonstar arena staves!!

Also remember you don't want to go 7 light if you've unlocked undaunted mettle. I just pity the poor *** who have to grind for rubedo hide, heavy and light armour users have it easy by comparison

And for the love of all that is holy do not screw up and forget to add the trait material when you're putting 150 pieces of ancestor silk into a robe, it's one of the most painful experiences possible in eso

    IC and Orsinium

If you craft...max your Passives then go to Orsinium and gather mats while questing

Or just buy gear or mats via traders.
