A quick question regarding the Rings of Mara... do both characters need to wear the rings to get the 10% exp gain? Do both characters need to be 'near' each other to get the bonus?

I actually haven't used it much yet but I've heard that both need to be online, in a group wearing it. I assume close by :0

Online, in group, not close by. Can be anywhere in Tamriel.
