How should I manage my traits?

dereck_phantom
I really want a set but I'm only a level 48 and doing research but it's going super slow. I'm also starting a new character how should I manage my crafting? I play PS4 as well

For chest, legs and head, i'd research infused first. Then impenetrable and divines.

For feet, hands, shoulders and waist divines and impenetrable should be your first.

For weapons, presice and sharpened are best to get first.

If you have money to buy nirn equips, go for it first or asap. You will research it far quicker than most of crafters and can start to make money with it sooner than others.

You really only want one character to do the Equipment Crafting, although having two is not that bad, as long as you just like the basic Motifs.

As for Traits, get two in everything you use first, then 3 etc. After you get to 6 traits, then go back and fill in the other items you skipped as you research the 7 to 9th traits on the items you use. Reason, the good sets only need 6 or less traits to learn. Mostly, the 8 and 9 trait sets are niche sets and only help certain builds. So, research one of the longer to learn traits while researching two of the shorter learn traits after you have 6 in the armor and weapons you use all the time.

Or, just get 6 in everything, then learn the 7 to 9 traits on those items you use all the time. But the key is to get 2 first as you can make some good gear only knowing 2 traits, same with 3 to 6 trait sets.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I recommend having one character as a crafter and level it up.

I always look back at when I began crafting. I have 6 crafters ( provisioning, wood, heavy armor/weapons, light armor, enchanting, alchemy ). The crafting that took the longest was Heavy armor/weapons. I wish I would have moved my weapons research over to the light armor crafter to speed research.

@Nestor how long do you think it'll take to get two of full medium plus and two handed sword?

Divines on Armor Precise and Sharpened on weapons just like Brrrrofski said. Those are what everyone is using atm.

Without passives, you can research one trait at at time. First trait takes 6 hours, second takes 12. So, total of 18 hours. Times 7 armor pieces and a weapon means 128 hours with no passives. So, just longer than a week, assuming your ready with the new research as soon as the first is finished. Figure two weeks real time if you log in in the morning before work/school to que up items to be researched.

The passives that allow you do learn 2 or 3 at a time, and also cut the time per piece down really help with this.

    Everyone knows nirn now.

You see loads of it going for 10k on xbox for armour. Most people use it as one of the last to research just to get 9 traits.

Weapons go for more as people actually use potent nirn for crafting. Nobody puts nirn on armor since they fixed the bug.

If you're going to pvp, impenetrable is probably more important I'd say though.
