I would love to have some sort of fashion option where we can pick our armour skins and stats separately, but that doesn't solve this problem unless there's a range of armour without flaps to choose from. And making new armour wouldn't solve the problem unless it came alongside a new fashion system because otherwise only people who are able to get that armour set (which at this point is likely to be a reward for completing new DLC) and use the stats it comes with will be able to wear it.
Since they're entirely separate pieces, often floating several centimetres from the character, it seems like it should be easy to make the game recognise them as separate objects and hide them when the player wants to.PC EU player | She/her/hers | PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates!

Blackers✭✭✭make new armors without buttflapsI just wish they didn't add the flaps to the outlaw armor, which we have seen before now without them, and it looked fantastic. but the added flaps seem extremely unnecessary, and just make the whole set look like any other in the game. there needs to be more variety in armor/clothing design and shape. It just seems that every clothing/armor set goes by a very basic template that the art team is restricted too.

I have no problem with them, as long as not every armor has them. choices and options are always good.
I tend to prefer armors that don't have it, but I think that a toggle for a specific section of a piece of armor would be weird. it's better to design some new armors on the future that don't all have them.0 -

I was being facetious in all seriousness though this is where all of this prudery comes from.I want spell crafting.1 -
make buttflaps toggleable like helmets (also sideflaps)I haven't had any issue with the buttflap for my character, but there are other armor styles I would have definitely chosen if not for the clunky side flaps that make no sense on that style and throw everything off. So toggle would be best, butt and side separately.1
