sorc stam or Templar stam for PvP??

✭✭✭✭✭Both are pretty squishy to be honest, owing to ZOS not yet having given either enough of a toolset of class-based stamina morphs.
It has gotten better, but core mobility, defensive, and escape skills for both still require relying on a tiny magicka pool, or offloading health and damage to have more utility that other stamina-friendly classes get without the compromise due to balanced morphs.
Honestly, I have said it many times, ZOS need to give every class ability AT LEAST one magicka and one stamina morph.
Who made up the rule that an ability must ONLY have 2 morphs? Tell me that please?3 -

As a Templar I have all kinds of options and utility. Once you unlock Vigor, omfg Stam Templar is amazing. Having Repentance and Total Dark is just outstanding. Not to mention how much damage you can put out.
I would say both are very viable but as a veteran Stam Sorc with over a year of Stam Sorc play under my belt, Templar all the way.0 -

What uber leet streamers play a Stam Sorc that are any good aside from Fengrush and Xael? Both of those that I mentioned both feel the stamsorc is lackluster and both happen to be the best stam sorc pvpers I have seen. The only thing Stam Sorcs really have going for them is Boundless Storm for mobility. Otherwise they are a class neutral weapon spec who gets most of their damage from 2h skill line ala Wrecking Blow / Crit Rush / and Executioner. When not doing that it's Caltrops and Steel Tornado. Hardly anything to make them the "best class in pvp right now."
All 3 of the other classes are far ahead of Sorcs in Stamina PvP as they have passives that are way more useful and more skills that synergize with Stamina.0 -
DurzoBlint13✭✭✭✭I run a stam sorc from Feng Rush's "TYSON" build. Stam sorc have no offensive attck skills that scale to stam. We only have the buffs- Thundering Presense + Crit Charge. It is a great combo to run with 2h/DW/bow but we do not have the DPS numbers that magica sorcs do AND we have no Hardened Ward stam mod to protect us. All of a stam sorc's attacks come from weapon skills. That being said, it is VERY fun sub class to play! You have to up close and personal to maximize your DPS in PVP, but some of the magica based CC moves (Streak or Encase) can be very helpful. It takes a lot of awareness to not become a "glass cannon" and I am still working on that aspect. I have only been doing PvP for about a week now, so there is a lot I do not know yet. As a stam sorc, you will probably never be the highest DPS but it is very versatile and can be good in almost any situation
I just started a Templar 3 days ago but so far the class seems great for DPS. Only have a couple skills unlocked and I have already seen some nice stam morphs........already there are more options for stam based Templars (lv 12) than I have seen on a vr16 stam sorc0 -

Stam Sorc Pros:
Boundless storm, critical surge (extra healing), Ball of Lightning/Bolt Escape, +stamina and +heavy atk dmg from Bound Armaments, +20% HP and Stamina regen, +10% magicka regen, 15% discount on Ultimates.
Cons: No instant class dmg skill, need to rely on weapon skills.
There are lots of great reasons to be a Stamina Sorc.
Stamina Templar pros:
3 stamina morphs of class skills. Binding Javelin has weak dmg but good single target CC, Biting Jabs is great vs anyone without a shield, Backlash/Power of the Light is terrible don't use it. So you get binding javelin and Biting Jabs for converting to stamina.
Bonus to wep dmg from Balanced Warrior, 4% reduced cost ultimates, repentance for stamina and all regen +10% (requires dead bodies and does not stack with potions, situational)
Blazing/Radiant shield: LOL this weak ash shield is a pro!!! XD
Cons:
None of our class healing passives work with stamina heals, we lose our whole class healing identity for choosing stamina. Lose access to majority of 2 Templar skill tree's.
Magicka Templar is better than Stamplar at everything including burst and DPS. This class has no reason to exist.3 -
