Can you allow Dots to proc Crit surge or atleast some dots like flurry from Dual Wield tree. Its kinda annoying that Flurry does not work with crit surge because it is counted as a dot.

    No. It even says on the tooltip.
    DoTs will not heal you with crit surge.

    ...I know that thats why I posted a question about changing it so that it allows some to work with it like flurry. Its annoying that flurry is counted as a dot.

    The problem is not with crit surge,

    It is with Flurry as flurry should not be seen as a DOT....

    The problem is, you're using flurry. Steel tornado is the only skill from dual wield you need for damage. Blade cloak for utility.

    Crit surge only heals 60%of dmg that proced it.

    crit surge heals for 50% of the damage that proc'ed it..

    I still feel that on dots it would be op...
    Specially if you can stack all these dots and recieve the healing.
    as well as normal attacks...

    It would just be way too OP

    The problem with heals from DOTs is that they are usually relative small so it would decrease healing because there's a cooldown on the heal effect.

    Best way is to remove the cooldown and only allow heals from single target crits.

    No cooldown with aoe is just far to strong for the skill, this used to be the case at launch and it literally made sorcs invincible while aoe farming.

    But flurry should not be a dot.

    - make Flurry an exception on Crit Surges Side
    Or
    - simply make Flurry count as normal Hits, instead of Dots. If Damage on average stam/weap dmg Is "too high" (due to CP maybe?) it still can be tweaked.

    So they made Surge unable to heal from DoTs in order to make it heal more reliably on large hits and now some super smart people show up telling us it would be OP if changed back... :expressionless:

    Critical Surge healing will never be OP with DOTs allowed because of the first change to surge which put a cooldown in between heals. The only reason it was changed in the first place is because Magicka sorcerers complained about heals being wasted on Wall of elements/Liquid lightning, and Stamina sorcerers complained about losing heals due to lightning form.

    Liquid lightning has had it's base damage doubled, wall of elements had had its base damage doubled and now boosted by 80%, and thundering presence has had it's base damage tripled for 4 seconds. DOTs now have a meaningful base damage to heal off of. There is no longer a reason to exclude them. The 60% critical strike healing a level 4 critical surge provide would be most welcome.

    thunderings damage is awful - caltrops would be OK.. spinning already heals through crit surge though. Caltrops is one of the only decent dots that would offer good return, but it would be low and steady amounts, rather than high bursts. But its allright either way as is - flurry should have been reworked awhile ago but still it sits idle while we fix classes broke last patch and plan for future on fixing what is breaking this patch.

    I've wanted Flurry to be good for a long time. If you line it up side by side with Jabs it is inferior (apart from perhaps the disorient effect which is a better form of cc). It is inferior on single target as well as lacking the aoe. Flurry is just bad, and I don't know anyone who wouldn't rather use tornado or flying dagger. I'd like to add the animation for it is pretty bad (like many skills) since it was designed for a bladed weapon. They should rework animations to suit slashing cuts, or make sure that stabs are only coming from weapons intended to stab (Swords, Daggers).

    With cp changes to allow increase dot flurry dmg will increase but all even with that it does not matter because it does not proc crit surge. I would like flurry to stay as a dot but just for flurry the ability to proc crit surge.
