Can we get a toggle for buttflaps and crotchflaps?

Please?

It would be nice if we could be given the option to hide those pesky little buttflaps and crotchflaps from our characters. It could be much like how mount armor/bags/straps are handled, with a toggle option in the options menu.

That would make a lot of players a little more happy =/

This is the only time I have heard anyone wanting this.Well,..once before. But not a lot of people call for it.Personally,I dont mind the flaps.I prefer them to the plain look without them. Some armor doesnt have flaps, and it makes my Char look like he has no shape.Just straight down.

I've only heard of people wanting to toggle the side flaps before, which I wouldn't mind. They oddly levitate and swing around when I run and it's a little distracting. They do look cool when I'm stationary in some styles though.

Let me add to those few for you.
I've always wanted these off. Since I first saw the game even before I got into closed beta

I doubt this would be that hard to implement, especially with how much they are making from the cash shop rn.

I would love to get the crotch flaps toggled. They are under the Altmer light jerkin and clip through all the time and I hate that. I like the look of the Altmer light but won't use it because of the clipping. I really want to toggle shoulders though. I have to wear a costume sometimes because I'm mismatched and the shoulders look stoopid.

Agreed. I can understand the hip-flaps for heavy armor. But why do they insist on adding them to light and medium? Robes, jerkins/jackets should not have these.

They went ahead and added flaps to the outlaw armor when it looked so much better without.

    Yes indeed!

It just showcases how easily those pesky flaps can ruin an otherwise amazing and perfect armor!

Everybody! We must make Zenimax listen to us with this campaign! No longer shall we, their playerbase, lie down! We're the true citizens of Tamriel, their everyday costumers! We have the right to speak up about this injustice. For far too long have these damned buttflaps and crotchflaps ruined our daily lives and fashion senses!

But fear not my dearest ESO brethren, for Zenimax must, and shall hear our demand for an optional toggle for crotchflaps and buttflaps! Spread the word! #NoMoreFlaps

Do not underestimate aesthetics in an MMO :) gw2 has no gear progression at all, it just runs on character aesthetics alone.

ESO armor design sucks. There are basically 4 things wrong with it. Some may not bother everyone, but if you have any familiarity with real armor, the ones in ESO will make you cringe. I present them in order of growing severity.

1 - The Cuirass for most armor is built in a totally implausible manner. They are complex messes of various bits and shapes and pay no heed to actual articulation. I also really detest the fact that supposedly rigid metal armor flexes with the breathing animation. But then again, most of them are really just body paints. Even so... there are enough okay styles available that I can live with this flaw.

2 - Hip flaps. Those things are just badly designed. And most of them would be unbearably cumbersome and restrictive to wear in battle. In fact several of them would be dangerous to the wearer. And not only due to their cumbersome design - some of them have spiky protrusions that clip with the character models hands when they are standing idle. What kind of imbecile would place spikes on an armor that basically cuts the users wrist every time he move his hands? A lot of them are also way too big and suffer from the same floatiness as shoulder bits. Finally, real tassets are positioned more to the front of the torso covering upper hips and are articulated to move with the leg, not hanging from the sides of the hips as they do in ESO, not really moving with the leg rather than just flapping about on their own. But this is something I can live with. Chalk it down to an artistic style difference between our world and theirs. It 's still a silly, impractical and, with some armors, painful idea.

3 - There is a fair amount of shoulderitis going on with the armors. Many of the Shoulder guards are just ginormous! And most of them float on your character, unless you have maximized their physical size. Most epaulets for light armor just look silly, and hiding them would be much appreciated feature. For some it works, but on most just looks really bad. And finally, as far as shoulders are concerned... For the love of all that is sensible and pretty, please let us have at least an option for having both shoulders covered when wearing monster set shoulder bits. For that reason alone, I have ignored collecting those bits completely.

Yes, asymmetrical armor is a thing, and I'd be okay with it, if there was some actual asymmetry going on! Wearing one shoulder guard, and only one, is not asymmetrical design. It's just wearing half of a full set! And if you do decided to make the things asymmetrical... please let us wear the bigger piece on the defending arm. I really don't want to restrict my sword arm by wearing a huge hunk of heavy steel on it.

4 - Groin flaps. Good grief. Those things are atrocious. Why are they added to every armor set in the game! Just look at real historical armor. You know the kind people have actually worn while bashing each other with melee weapons. See a trend? No groin flaps! There are very few groin flaps in real world armor, and the ones that have them, tend to have more of a decorative function and come as several separate strands of fabric for ease of movement. Not only that, but those things make riding horses pretty much impossible! But flaps are even harder for me to understand. And would make sitting down a fairly cumbersome exercise.

The only armor to feature groin flaps like ESO are modern ballistic armor, and even in those the flaps tend to be attached to a higher point on the torso so as not to restrict the wearers movements completely. And those things do not come with hip flaps either, since that would just totally prevent the wearer from moving. And the only reason those work on ballistic vests is because nobody expects you to ride a horse on the modern battlefield. And they do not come with but flaps since most soldiers appreciate the ability to be able to sit down.

I can only see the presence of those hideous and utterly impractical and pointless flaps as some misdirected attempt to limit sexualised content in ESO by covering the characters buts and groins. But come on! This game has been rated M anyway, and nothing will prevent people from trying to shift the camera for that upskirt shot, so just remove them already!!

Aesthetics are extremely important to me as a player, I spent so much time in GW2 to get my character to look just how i wanted and i enjoyed my time doing it, spending hours on end grinding for gear that just looked good so i could transmute it to something that that had the stats i wanted.

ZOS could learn a lot from how GW2 went about character customization.

So yes the removal of these flaps is important to a lot of us.
