I've been going back to early Zones and gathering up books, skyshards and doing the dungeons. I'm Veteran Rank 9 and I do "okay" damage against anything above level 30. I still do fine, but I feel I should be doing... better... than that. Here is what I have

Apparel- All VR8 gear, epic level tempers with enchantments
Weapons- VR8 Master Trackers Bow- epic quality. VR8 Ice-Hearts Blade- Superior
Skills:
Bow- Coagulating Blood IV, Venom Arrow IV, Lethal Arrow IV, Unstoppable IV, Charging Maneuver IV, WereWolf Berserker IV
Sword- Coagulating Blood IV, Brawler IV, Dizzying Swing I, Hardened Armor I, Charging Maneuver IV, WereWolf Berserker IV

I rarely use my sword FYI

Here are my stats

you want your gear and weapons to be part of item sets, which boost your stats quite a bit. try to boost stamina and weapon damage. if you can increase weapon critical as well, thats a plus.

on your 2H bar use rally. it increases weapon damage by 20% and gives you a strong heal. drop coagulating blood and slot in rally.

remove charging maneuvers from one of your bars and find another good buff. evil hunter might be a good one to put on your bow bar if thats what you mainly use.

2H sword is going to be better dps than a bow. If you are more concerned with doing more damage rather than sticking with your bow, I would recommend fitting executioner on your 2H bar and using 2H as your main damage.

Also, im not sure of your attributes but if using 2H and bow, you want your attributes and gear enchants to be mostly stamina.

    MORE STAM = MORE DPS

    hope that helps a little.

I agree, you may want to switch main DPS to sword and use your bow as a burst damage bar with poison injection etc..

Since your stamina you definitely want to start looking into set gear. Hunding's Rage is still one of the most sought after craft-able sets for stam builds for the weapon crit and weapon damage for 5 pc.

Also, Medium armor will give you better DPS because of the passives the skill line offers.

If you switch your armor/weapons up to set gear that adds stam/wep dmg/wep crit with stamina enchants, you will instantly see your DPS go up.

As a DW DK I'm using 5 Hundings Rage/ 4 Night Mothers Gaze and my base DPS is ~2600 before Rally buff etc.

(EDIT: Those stats are also without full Stam enchants as I'm still working on my VR16 gear).

Your gear seems okay, but your skills could use some work. You have a couple skills on both bars that are wasting space and hardened armor/unstoppable both give you the marjor buffs so pick one of them. If you mostly use bow then use your sword as the buff bar. Take off unstoppable and charging maneuver from the bow bar. Add a arrow spray morph for AOE and another skill that you like.

For the sword bar take off coagulating blood and add rally, this will give you a HOT and damage boost, keep this up at all times. I wouldn't recommend using both brawler and dizzying swing as they are both just damage skills, you only really need one, especially if you don't use your sword much. Take off one of them and add crit rush or another skill that you like.

I also recommend wrecking blow over dizzying swing, it gives you a damage boost to your next attack. An execute might be a good idea also. You could move hardened armor or maneuver up to your bow bar and add executioner from the 2h skill line. Not only is it good for finishing off enemies but you get extra stam regen from the 2h passive.

    So...
bow - coagulating blood, venom arrow, leathal arrow, arrow spray(morph), open(your choice) / ww (something different from other bar)

2h sword - rally, dizzying swing(or brawler), crit rush, hardened armor, charging maneuver. / a different ultimate.

Thanks for all the feedback guys

I actually use the same abilities on both bars simply because i'm an idiot XD I don't switch between bars during combat because I mash keys I don't intend to mash, which results in a swift death during boss battles

As for sets, i've actually been learning as many traits as I can to actually get something crafted, i've learned at least three traits on one or more pieces of hearvy armor. I've never really gotten into the traits thing until a few days ago even though i'm almost half a bar away from lvl 50 Blacksmith lol

DPS isn't really my goal, I just feel that i'm not doing as well as I should be doing. I know this game is unlike other MMO's in the fact even starting zone things can kill you if you're a tool. I have no issue with that, i'm just surprised at how ineffective I actually am at this level with this kind of non-set gear

I know sets are infinitely better, but I never do PVP unless i'm just bored and feel like something different. PVE is my focus. I'll definitely see to adding Rally onto my bar as a start

I know I haven't addressed everything written, it's 12:47am where I am and i'm about to head off to bed shortly, I just wanted to respond before I became completely brain dead

sets matter in pve also. you dont necessarily need to craft the items yourself. if you look around in guild traders you could probably get some decent v9 sets for cheap. it would make a world of difference. that may be your whole issue.

I'll definitely take a look around Saint, i've gotten a part here or there from sets that drop and liked their bonuses, so i'll see what I can do

Just logged in and added Rally, i'm in a VR2 Zone and noticed I took no actual health damage due to the 'shield' bonus stacked with the effect of Rally. Will test in a VR8 Zone when I wake up :)

You're quite lacking in stamina. I think you might want to put a couple more points in it.

I would if I could lol, i've spent points on health and magicka to keep myself alive and I use stamina potions to make up for the smaller bar

I've been using Rally and I perform infinitely worse now, i'm actually dying 3/5 times instead of 1/5 when I could self heal and usw potions to self sustain

@Metamon - You have to get 5 pce hundings rage and when you hit vr11 get 5 pce ravager(rings, neck and 2 armour)

Your 2h bar should look something like this,
    Stampede
    wrecking blow
    rally
    Executioner
    Evil hunter

    U - Take Flight

    Bow Bar
    Igneous shield
    Vigour
    Bombard
    poison injection
    Hardened armour

    U - Dawnbreaker

    Kick off with bow bar,

Pop igneous shield, hardened armour, heavy attack, poison injection, bombard,
    Switch bars,
Stampede into light attack, wrecking blow, take flight, executioner..

you probably will not get into the take flight of executioner too often however you can change this as you feel fit..

the combo of stampede, light attack, wrecking blow, take flight will nuke most players in cyrodiil as well...

I don't have enough traits learned to even consider crafting it yet

I also haven't been investing in any of the guild skill lines, which means no Dawnbreaker

I have 5/5 pieces of Ashens Grip as that's the only set I can craft at the moment.
I have no idea what some of those abilities are or what they're branched from, so i'm sticking to what I know. I unfortunately can't be helped, many of these suggestions work for dps and fail completely for me since I self sustain through using magicka to heal myself and stamina to deal damage.

    UPDATE:

Switching to the Ashens Grip set has been utterly amazing. Who knew?
If I get to respec my skill points, i'm dumping my Magicka into health and stamina.

glad the ashen grip set is helping you.

    last thing im gonna say:

since you are dealing damage with stamina, it would make sense to increase your stamina as much as you can afford to. doing more damage will help you survive.

you may ask why since your healing spells are magicka?

if you are able to kill the group of enemies in.. say 8 seconds (dealing more dmg) instead of 16 secs (dealing less dmg), you will be also TAKING less damage because the enemies are dead faster, which means you wont need as many self heals, which means you wont need as much magicka to heal yourself during battle nor will it take as much stamina to kill the group of enemies since you deal more damage per hit.

    hope that makes sense

To add to the dumping magicka...

You can still boost your defenses a good amount by using only igneous shield or spiked/hardened armor and Rally/Momentum.

So before you jump into a group of enemies, use spiked armor OR igneous shield, use Rally/Momentum (same skill, one is a morph of the other) and then start attacking. The damage shield from the armor/shield should be enough to keep you from getting wiped, and the heal from rally/momentum should be enough to keep your life up in case you do get hit pretty hard. Also, if you decide to keep Brawler as an AoE with the added damage shield thats a great way to keep yourself allive! Just remember that this would be most effective with as much stamina as you can get (enchants, extra points etc..) so you can spam it a bit and still have enough stamina to finish off the enemy with some burst damage.

Those are really the only utility skills you should need WHEN you manage to get your base DPS up. If you think your damage is still lower than you'd like I would say you are perfectly fine running Dragons Blood on your bar as a heal, especially if you are sticking with mainly PvE.

Also, its never a bad idea to pick up all the health pots for your level from fallen enemies. Having an "Oh *** Potion" in the quick slot has always found a way to help me in a sticky situation.

All in all, the DK is a great class with so many skill combinations that work in PvE just keep messing with them and see if you find a better set up that you enjoy.

Reset my attribute points, turned 20 Magicka into 3, the rest of those points being added to Health and Stamina.
I'm performing about the same against bosses, but am dispatching regular enemies in moments

So, thank you very much for all the help guys- I even added Rally back to my bar and am working with it quite well :)
Now leveling up the Fighters Guild, love the Silver Bolts against undead

The new build allowed me to beat one of the bosses i've struggled quite a lot with, the trio at Old Kalgon's Keep

    Daggerfall Covenant - 100% complete
    Coldharbour - 100% complete

On a fun note, i'm 126 quests away from 1000
