Chat boxes are extremely important for getting groups together and for a guild. I Played PC launch too and this is my first MMO ever not on a PC so its weird not having an extremely important feature. I cant find a group to save my life for all the regular dungeons which is irritating cause i am losing skill points and i think a chat box would help tremendously.

Yea we'll actually be able to coordinate attacks and defenses alliance wide. The only problem I see is that the state of lag is already bad so they will need to do some brainstorming to get it under control. If they don't we'll have a problem when 500 players are at one keep

I been really looking forward to this, I transfer from PC to xb1 and it's just not the same selling and finding groups in PVP is going to be much better.

Let's hope they don't screw this up and just keep it a simple chat box clone from PC version.

It's going to be flooded with ***. I'm keeping out of text chat it's going to be full of richards spamming crap into it 24/7 console minds are slightly less developed over the PC master race. Such a bad move to appease a few people.

Any MMO would have problems with 500 people at one place...

That's usually more than an entire server population. It would be like trying to fit 500 people in a swimming pool.
Most MMOs has 10 to 100 different servers to accommodate huge overall game population, but at most you'd have about 100 people on a single map, let alone one area on that map.

So someone tell me why it's going to be useful? We ALL got mics included and most people with nothing good to add don't speak anyway. Why everyone wants to revert to 90s text speak in pvp is beyond me. Simple "help getting ganked" "reds behind us" oh wait no now I need to wait and type it out as everyone switched off audio. The proper well Co ordinated groups won't be using it for sure. Not sure why it's so hard for the party leader to just say "attack x keep next" or "to this ganking spot next" much easier to speak with more positives over text chat. I dread going to grahtwood now. It's going to get flooded with wtb whatever, or any 14yr old virgins wanna snapchat.

You can speak to a few people in a small area.

You can't ask a question in a given zone (we spent many hours on here when console launched answering basic things, and correcting misinformation, over and over because they had no way to spread information.)
You can't coordinate an entire Alliance in Cyrodiil or communicate enemy movements.
You can't ask for groups in a zone.
You can't ask for help in a zone.
You can't do your own trading in a zone.
You can't RP very well, most of them prefer text.

It's going to make your game and social activities much easier.

Best of all, it's optional for you and you won't be losing anything just gaining a method to communicate to a larger area.

I enjoyed chatless Cyrodil alot more than PC-Cyrodil. I hope it doesnt come to the game. Players whine about zerging all the time but chat is exactly going to bring that and wheres zerg, theres lag. Sounds kind of bad call to me.

Personally I think it's good for dungeons, quests, trading and alliance coordination but I won't be using in pvp. I would rather fight then have my ass handed to me while I type x keep us under attack. It's pretty easy to work out what people are doing and where they are gonna attack by looking at the map. I know people are looking forward to it but it's just not my cuppa tea.

Edit: if they add support for smart glass then I would consider it as only need one hand for firing siege and one on my phone typing

Do peopl really think in a middle of a battle ur going to open up a txt window and type!??? Ffs u wait until it's safe after u take a keep at ur base then type what u need it's really simple. It's just an extra tool to help I'm finding it so hard to believe that people are missing this, am I alone in this thought?

If you don't want to use it fine don't but I feel you will be missing out on a lot of action going on in pvp. The first faction that utilizes this tool first and effectively will control the map and dominate.

Great for trading and finding a group if you are not in a tight guild.

Not trolling at all. It's not hard to get into a guild. The amount of times and i mean daily people spamming my toon with guild join requests in unreal. Either you're in crap guilds with no active members or you've upset someone imo. The game has been rolling long enough to get into decent guilds. Trading guilds well you kind of had that coming by not pve'ing. It's where they started at the undaunted site gathering people up for pledges and they expanded. Just trotting about on a horse spamming mutagen for ap isn't getting you into a guild. Same goes for anyone just randomly coming up to me and trying to trade...no thanks. I have no interest and no serious players are entertaining people trying to flog stuff or make friends because they were too stupid or cool for school to use a bloody mic and miss the boat...and now cry for text chat....guess we just need a make a friend section on this forum really..would solve your problem altogether wouldn't it.
Leave the people who actually enjoy being social and not hiding behind words and keyboards alone.

When did they say Text chat was coming with Thieves Guild?Am pretty sure they said it's coming with Dark Brotherhood not TG.

Also yea this isn't really going to help with PVP at all it will just make it way more laggy.It just be way more Pugs groups running around forming Zergs and lagging out the server so personally am not looking forward to chat text coming to Cyrodiil.The rest of the game sure make it easier for carebears to form groups for Dungeon and other PVE activities.I also like that I can sell things probably quicker with Text chat when I need cash fast.

Basically what am trying to say is am looking forward to it for Selling things and other activities but for PVP personally they can keep it out.

Console already got the lag. Sometime around orsinium it just started lagging non stop. It's super fun. You should try it.

Some people are just shy or have social anxiety? Like myself.

Why be shy? All we really want people to do is KILLLLLLLLL HIIIIMMMMM. And then it's mostly silence when action is going on. Only when trotting around aimlessly in Cyro does chat get annoying. But start then y and then x takes you out of it. Not like at a siege you'll be selling anything either. Emote join a group gets you in one.

Still no valid point in ur post. I think mic is great in fact I love it but txt chat makes other things easy that a mic can't do. I'm in 2 trading guild 500 members each in prime spot but sometimes I just want to ask in zone if someone wants something mail it and make gold with out leaving pvp. I play in morning when not a lot of guild members are on this will make finding a group that's doing something fun a lot easier then running up to random ppl asking "hey party pls hey party pls" wait they not on area chat they can't hear me. Also txt chats good bc crap I got ganked let me tell the area real fast that someone is here then guess what a small group of ppl come and kill the ganker woot! Try that with ur voice chat XD

This is not taking away ur voice chat in anyway I'm starting to think that's what you feel like omg my voice chat is being replaced by txt chat, news for you buddy it's not just adding a feature that can help out
