FPS Drops + Screen stuttering since Jan/Feb

Anyone else getting this since last night? I am doing nothing but running forward in an empty zone with no one around and getting fps drops + stuttering for no reason. Checked everything I can think of and pretty sure it's an issue since last mini patch.....

Happens every few seconds and only when playing ESO since last night. You can see where it dips in fps/screen freezing at the same time as dips in gpu load, power usages and memory controller load.

Did you change something ZOS?

They did change the way the game is packed… and if they use Codereplace on the wrong parts of code, it could definitely cause microstutters/lag.

Yes, now that you mention it I do get FPS drops in dungeons, and the seem more frequent than before.

My fps has NEVER dropped below 25. ..no matter what I was doing in game, but last night I was dropping below 10 fps on a regular basis? It kept going up and down like a yo yo for the 3 hours I was playing last night. Hopefully just a *** up.

My friend kept mentioning that his game would 'skip / pause' in Dungeons last night. He has a rather beast rig, only used for gaming, and hadn't ever had a problem before last night.

We're hoping it was just a glitch in the Matrix and tonight all will be well.

I have just checked my performance, logged in - ran through Daggerfall and bit into the daenia forest. It runs all smoothly as before with a pretty stable 55-60 fps on all high graphics. Did those *** ups on your machine appear after some time or from the very start of playing?

Usually starts after about 30 mins - an hour of playing...

overheating...dust in components...happened to me..maybe that will fix it..

overheating...dust in components...happened to me..maybe that will fix it..

We don't all suddenly have dust in our computers over night. This is too common to be a coincidence. I was in vWGT last night and out of nowhere I would get FPS drops to 12 even with a normal (for me) ping of 150-ish. FPS drops in Cyrodiil are normal, but not in dungeons. Something is screwy.

Have also noticed this lately the same thing since last weeks updates where it would suddenly start bouncing between single digits or less and 60+. Quit and restart seemed to fix it for me but thats a pita in the middle of banished cells! I've also recently started using the outlaw refuge in Belkarth and that seems to really kill the fps most times. Just another issue to contend with.

it is not an overheat issue, the OP posted his stats and the GPU is at 76 C, which is not much for a GPU under load. So it has to be something else which is effecting more than one person. Memory usage and memory controller load do as well not point to graphics. So what is left is the connection and possible delays there. ZOS stated in there live show, that they are working on making changes to how the client communicates with the server, so this could be it.

Yeah i also had this last night during prime time, but no one else with me in sanctum had it so assumed it was ISP related. Tried a second ISP and had the same. Had to quit the raid.

I got yesterday when I logged on a massive fps stuttering for around 10s. Afterwards for the rest of the evening no issues.

Noticed this on my wife's laptop today, random stutter and FPS drops, and it was fine before today's patch.
However on my desktop gaming rig I encountered no problems and we both played for a solid few hours.
Maybe it affects certain hardware setups more than others, not sure, but something isn't right.

Are you sure you are playing ESO ? I think something like this is impossible.
Just a question im curious.

I'm glad I'm not the only one this happened to. I always get framerate dips in cities and dungeons. I was actually trying to tweak some stuff last night to see if I could fix it and it suddenly got much worse.

@Troneon, I have a 670 as well, do you experience any screen tearing?

I have been having this issue as well, sometimes hitting Esc will correct it but other times I just have to wait until it is over. Not sure what is causing it but I really hope the 64 bit client will fix a lot of these kind of issues.

AMG Graphics Card R9 270X 2Gbyte Ram Same Issue here EU Server GPU Drops down to 0 % gpu Usage The Gpu clocks down to 450 mhz idle mode and then spikes back to 30-50 % gpu load bad fps drops started with last patch before i had no such behavior on my pc in eso.
