So, I've just done the maths on how feasible it is to start making money selling PA (using PS4/EU average prices) and thought I'd document it to give some people an idea.

Prices used are as follows:
1. Initial Outlay = 175k (25k per fragment)
2. Revenue (per batch of 4 PA) = 18k (4.5k per PA sold)
On-going Costs (per batch of 4 PA):
3, Perfect Roe = 13k (purchased) and 1.7k* (farmed)
4. Bervez Juice = 0.5k (purchased)
5. Frost Miriam = 0.5k (purchased)
6. Sales Commission = 1.26k

Below is the Payback Period (number of batches to break even) after which you should (if prices remain constant) start earning the associated profit per batch:
- Purchasing PP = 64 and 2.7k profit
- Farming PP = 12.5 and 14k profit
Assuming you do the writs and have maxed Hirelings and already have an abundance of BJs (calm down, you!) and FMs, the PPs and profits without these costs are:
- Purchasing PP = 47 and 3.7k profit
- Farming PP = 11.5 and 15k profit

If you then wanted to use one in every batch of PA for yourself: you'd only make money by farming the PR (as buying it would lose you 2.6k or 1.6k per batch depending on BJ and FM) but even then, you're looking at a PP of 16-18 batches.

Personal opinion:
Unless you already have at least 3 fragments or are wanting to farm for PR - it's not worthwhile. You'd be better off farming and selling PR for around 9k profit and buying a PA for 4.5k as you need it.

However, then the issue arises with you farming for 60 mins for 15 mins of free Experience and 4.5k profit. Seeing as you'll essentially be earning 4.5k for 45 mins work, the opportunity cost of losing 45 mins (4.5k) for 15 mins free Experience isn't worth it. (Or, you know, you could just buy 5x 2hr store for 1k Crowns (5 hours of free Experience) which is probably the best value item on there right now).

* 2.5k (average cost of purchasing 200 of the cheapest bait) / 1.5 PR (rough average return from personal experience)
~1 hour of farming time not accounted for

actually the commom price for ambrosia is 3 - 3.5 k.
al the provisoning skill line do not worth.
i can buy any kind of food selection just sitting at my bank's guild store for a bunch of gold.
no need to mess with all those crapping ingredients.
thought i leveled all my alt at 50 with a bunch of ingredients and 4 reciepes (15, 25, 35, 45 level)
provisoning is waste of time for me, but i gratefully for all those that still cooking.
also at the guild store you do not see anymore crazy price about ingredients and food, so even if you do for money is discutible.

I just use my roe for my personal use. I'll sell the odd one now and again and maybe give one away as a present from time to time but the exp from the pots is far more useful to me than the coin gained from selling.

As I said, I was using average PS4/EU prices and as you're on PC - it's not surprising that yours differ.

I recommend just doing writs till you get all that's what I did. But I only use for personal and give to friends if we're grinding for free....so.

Average price per PA on PS4 NA is 3.5k per as well. If you shop around, you can find them for 3k ea.

I went to all in Eastmarch, Mournhold and Coldharbour and the cheapest I found were two at 3.9k (listed today) and everything else was typically ~4.5k with at least 20 days remaining and nothing was expiring soon. I expect the ones ~4k get bought quick whereas the more expensive ones take a while to sell

Price has fluctuated slightly because players are experimenting with new new recipes from the Orsinium DLC and Perfect Roe is in demand (primarily because players are crafting the new foods to sell in traders vice PAs). However, you can still easily find PAs between 3-3.5k and Roe 11k or less. It has been the steady avg for quite some time now.

    25k per fragment?

Last time I checked you could get them all for 60k.

edit: and that was months ago.

What I've seen done as well is people who know the recipe offer to make PA if you send them a roe and they will give you 3 back. They will cover the cost of the purple mats.

Maybe you can sell the fragments for that much but i can verify i purchased all fragments for a total of 60k (pc na-seems like its similar prices). Took a bit of shopping but found them all in about 15 minutes... So from a buyer looking for a deal standpoint its totally feasible. (while im sure as a seller standpoint looking to make good coin yours probably is too in the right places at the right times).

That'll teach me not to load MM for awhile. I remember buying all of them for 60k back in November, then winning a complete recipe in a guild raffle shortly after. I was able to sell that one for 70k.

I believe I just put on up a couple days go and sold it for 7k ./facepalm

Oh wow! Although it's not the worst story I've seen on here: apparently someone dismantled an Imperial motif once for bag space
