Health regen tanks

Anyone play this type of build in PVP? Which class, race, armor, and weapons would be best suited for this playstyle?

I would recommend checking out Patrick Scott's build, found this one but there may be a more recent one:

Same core ideas on the build but with better gear, and a few additions such as werewolf/impenetrable/resistant investment.

Hope this helps a few struggling dragonknights out there. This concept also works with other classes, only a few tweaks needed.

That video has a Redguard for the build which when trying to build a health regen character is a really poor choice. Khajiit, Orc and Nord are the classes with helth regen perks. ORc and Khajiit get 20% bonus and nord get 30%. With the right set up you could hit 4000 health regen

I know someone who likes health regen tanking and has been testing builds for it, and he always uses orcs. I believe he's in 7 piece heavy armor and prefers Dragonknights, but I don't know what sets he's been using - something for health regeneration and stamina I'd assume.

Greekmanzeus on twitch plays a regen build in pvp lately. His name is Krotha but I believe his twitch name is greekmanzeus. Not sure how often he streams but he was on last night.

This can also be done for other classes, I think race/gear/mundus is more important for this build.

I've seen several people like @Cathexis as a stam Sorc and BRKN GLSS has a Orc NB health regen build and pvp video.

My experience as a stam sorc has been that it is a struggle to achieve a solid balance between damage and health regen.

I don't recommend the build - it used to be a lot of fun before they put in the gap closer stun, but without the mobility it just doesn't work well in cyrodiil.

It is still a lot of fun 1v1 or 1v2 or in IC

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was also wondering which would be a better pvp tank in the non-cp campaigns, a draw essence build or a health regen one. The draw essence build would be using choking talons, and devouring swarm.

It's tough to say. I think my health regen build will be more competitive in the non cp campaign but I dont know about draw essence.

Don't do this its bait there are too many sets coming with new patch that cut your health regen by 50% so it will be usless...

That maybe true, but I only see Fasalla's Guile set, and I don't think that effects health regen.

All the better to make a Nord and stack regen so the 50% reduc will bring you down to a number that's still respectable.

What should I put all my stats into? Health, and Stamina, with health recovery glyphs?

I have done this on my tank (not with new sets, but under current system), but the problem is you have no damage and low health. To get the max regen numbers you have to use food for it, thus losing hp/mag/stam boosts from food. You also use the mundus for hp regen, so again you lose a corresponding possible stat. It's fun to try, and I have done it multiple times, but ended up back where I was with regular tanking. Maybe the new sets will change it -- we will see.

There's a couple of guys running similar builds in my guild, both are magicka based NBs running 1pc Kena, 1pc Engine, 5 piece willow's, 2 piece torugs. They put all their attribute points into magic then run the new health + recovery food.

Your mundus will come down to your play style, one of them runs all divines and has the spell damage mundus the other runs all impen and has the steed, both are very effective in IC and open world.
