The Lag in Cyrodiil fixed ?

    in real, there was less lag 2 years ago without aoe caps: ) and there were like 10xplayers in cyro. anyway all the checks on the abilities gives so much lag too, passives cps etc.

    That is true you can check youtube and see there were like 100v100 people fighting near keep and there was no lag or fps drops...

    I've played the PTS and yeah dueling to test out some stuff was a pain with all the lag.
    I honestly believe it to be a population problem on campaigns and imo I believe they should limit the population pars per alliance to 2 instead of 3.

    If the game is lagging on PvP due to the server checking information of a vast amount it's either time to upgrade it, connect another to it, or lower the population on the campaign to keep the consistency in check with the server.

    We don't need the Animation changed, there have been several calculations by players that server load is about 75% less without AoE Caps (can't find the thread now). What's the problem with this? If u fear unbalance in PvE with that, ok make it PvP only!

    They never respond to a thread like this its always quiet and they are evading questions on ESO live as well, but they for sure have ETA on new mounts and whatnot...

    It will be worse than Live with everyone slotting meteor, and now having access to caltrops and proxy det after like, a week of PvP.

    3 months ago and worse with every patch. Is this how you treat new players ? He doesn't even want to try Cyrodiil @ZOS :D

    Players have no insight into how the server works and what loads there will be there. Not even the programmers, software engineers, and others from the game industry that might hang out in here. We don't know anything about how the work load for the megaserver is split across different physical servers. We don't know anything about how the internal network is designed and laid out. I believe them in this and that they are going to continue to work on the lag, but it is going to take more than what is in Update 9 to fix it.     As for lag on PTS, while I am sure that they can get some information about lag, the PTS system is significantly under powered compared to Live. They have said this on a couple of occasions. I expect lag to be a lot worse on PTS for this reason.

    I envy you the trust you put in Z. I dont have any. Problem so critical left unfixed for so long - i never seen it in any MMO i played so far.

    You guys seriously need to get your facts straight......

    LAG and FPS is NOT THE SAME...

    FPS is completely CLIENT SIDE...that mean VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF THE GAME IS 100% ON YOUR MACHINE...

    which includes but not limited to:
    -animations
    -non interactable assets in the world
    -etc

    LAG is network COMPONENT that sends and recieves various reports in "real time" that keeps track of your interactions...

    when 50vs50 people confront each other in cyrodiil SERVER has to do TOONS OF CALCULATIONS..

    To put it into picture...

    100 PLAYERS

    -all have at least 5 buffs including Boon and Food etc
    -Buffs keep applying and remmoved during the fights
    -AoE abilities affecting multiple ppl in fight - now server has to calculate ressistances, passives,dodges,buffs
    -and tons more stuff

    AND IT HAS TO BE IN 50-80MS for us to be happy....ITS FREAKING HARD...not to mention all the other back end stuff server has to do...

    it has to travel crazy amount...YOU>SERVER>ENEMIES>SERVER>YOU...simplified but it has to run throug entire world and back to you in a hearthbeat (even faster)...

    server technologies is a mysterious game...and i played MMO's almost exclusivelly for the last 14years and i cant find 1 mmo that has ESO's combat system + pvp enviroment....its unique...and therfore there isnt a template devs have to follow...


    if you have no clue what im talking about then just go to any pve zone and walk around, and ask you mom to pull the plug on your router...

    THE SECOND SHE PULLS THE PLUG YOUR LAG IS OVER 9000 (DC FROM SERVER) AND SEE IF YOUR FPS FALLS...IT WONT..CUZ NETWORK COMPONENT DOES NOT AFFECT HARDWARE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR VISUAL REPRESENTATION.



    Guess most people know the diffrence between FPS and latency but these two go hand in hand. I mean if you have 300+ ping doesnt matter how high your FPS is or 30 ping with 15 FPS either way your game will be lagged you will see things delayed.

    FYI no its not unique,
    Most notable alternative is GW2 WvW, and they can do it fairly smoothly when 2 big blobs crash into each other, Im talking 100+ people, only when the 3th blob shows up to the party u start getting real issues
    ESO on the other hand, when a group of 24 meets an enemy force of about the Same size (or less even) *** already hits the fan.... Its terrible in comparrison

    What choice is there? We are not empowered to fix lag. After this much time, forum problem solving is not going to produce the magic fix. All we can really do is complain about it, and I am not one of the people that thinks that poking ZOS will produce faster results. The Bethesda Game Studios sister company pulled off the PS3 fix for Skyrim, so it is not hard to think that they have an overall corporate culture that reinforces their statement that they are committed to it.

    In the end, I stand by the statement that, if someone is playing ESO PVP, there is no reason to not believe them in this matter. A person may not be happy with the progress, or might need to vent in the forum, or might even think that this is bigger than they are capable of fixing, but it is really pointless to play PVP while maintaining that they can't be trusted in what they say they are doing.

    Fanboys and trolls argue for technologies, servers, code...i dont care, TESO is a product, i am a customer, i want to pay for it, i am ok to give ZOS euros every months for that but i cant cause the product is *** laggy and most of the time unplayable at prime time...

    So my only answer is no money for them, sad there will be always people to buy crowns...to have the last pet/mount or crap shop useless thingy i d like to buy too if had good times in pvp...

    The truth is they won't fix that because there is too much to do and its always easier to add things in game like Crown Shop items and other things...

    Maybe the no CP campain will be better because of that.
    They should lower the number of checks going on or transfer it client side. they need to rework their code because it was working 2 years ago.

    They never promised it would be 'fixed'. If it only was that easy. There's a layering of solutions they have to apply to achieve performance improvements, so while I expect things to be better with Update 9, I know it won't be smooth as a baby's bottom all of a sudden.

    Come on! ZOS has had these issues since beta.... yes beta! They should have had solutions for it by now. Let's not loosen the rope quite yet from around their neck.

    It smells of incompetence or just not the right people running the show to me.

    Yes 999+ and there is nobody around, its so bad you can just run with zerg and blind spam in rollbacks and hope you don't die while you lag forward, backward side to side and than suddenly everybody is dead...

    I doubt that the 64-bit client will help with lag, but there may be a difference in FPS due to changes in the underlying libraries.

    I have enough crowns to buy the existing DLC's and TG and DB when it comes out. If Cyrodill lag isn't fixed with this one my wife and I are stopping the subscription. No reason paying for something that's broke.
