DK - Molten Weapons feedback

Combat & Gameplay
[*]Earthen Heart
  • Igneous Weapons (Molten Weapons morph): This morph will now grant you and your allies the Major Brutality buff for 30 seconds, in addition to the Major Sorcery buff.
[*]Molten Armaments (Molten Weapons morph):
  • This morph now increases your own fully-charged Heavy Attack damage by 40% for 30 seconds in addition to granting the Major Sorcery buff.
  • This morph will now apply the fully-charged Heavy Attack damage bonus to Lightning and Restoration Staves.
  • Molten Weapons: This ability and its morphs now applies a 30 second Major Sorcery buff for you and nearby allies.




Very simple feedback.

BOTH morphs to have increase in heavy attack damage, BOTH morphs have increase in heavy attack damage on wounded enemies. ONE morph has major sorcery buff, the OTHER has major brutality buff.
Make it an execute ability, something that DK's dont have as a class ability afaik.
Need it to have some drawback? Make it reduce light attack damage by +50% or something while active.


What need do I have for BOTH major brutality and major sorcery if I'm playing either stamina or magicka? I only need ONE depending on my build.

    Compared to the Sorc version of this (Surge and morphs) this is pretty useless IMO. There is no additional effect; one gives you the two major buffs and the other just gives you Sorcery with the old skill. I personally think they should both give a small execute buff to all skills, but only a small one. Something like 50% extra damage.

    I'm kind of liking the change, a little bit, even as a stam DK. I really liked it working as an execute, but that buff duration is soooo good. Obviously coming from the perspective of someone using the 40% heavy attack bonus damage morph, the other one is complete garbage. Like, who in your party isn't running their own Major Brutality/Major Sorcery buff, and where in the head do you need to hit them?

    I think there should be atleast 20% or more heavy attack damage on igneous weapons, so there is something for the stam DK. It being only a group buff makes it the less appealing of the two morphs. Other builds will already have access to major brutality and sorcery, because of this I doubt anyone will be looking for this buff from the DK further making this change decent but still lacking. I do think the possibility of DW and bow for the stam DK will be nice but with that build lacking execute (except poison injection) or the extra heavy attack damage makes it a lot less appealing. 2h or S&B will still be preferred probably because of a gap closer in pvp or the DW/bow build could try and use chains. They could make molten weapons give 20% and then add the extra 20% onto the molten armaments morph. I just think the skill will lose its flavor without atleast some heavy attack damage for the caster. I think the heavy attack damage benefits stam builds a bit more anyways due to the length of time it take to do a full heavy attack with a destro staff and without the execute portion I don't think it will be worth the time while weaving. This skill though is a step in the right direction for build diversity, but I think this small tweak would really solidify the igneous morphs usefulness and overall flavor of the skill.

    It has both to make it a group utility skill.

    And it doesn't need an execute, if DKs get an execute, it should replace stone fist.

    Here's my thoughts about it.

    I just feel keep molten weapons and igneous weapons the same but change molten armaments back to 40% and 150% against low health enemies you know give DKs the execute back.

    Now before any one says to slow and bla bla bla I personally feel strong stuff such as molten armaments execute should have a wind up time and yes molten armaments is much strong than any other execute in the game. Scene enemy is at 50% health use executioner form 2H yea did more damage now do 4 or 5 more while molten armaments which can be buffed up even more with blade expert (melee expert) enemy at 50% health one heavy attack dead or nearly dead.

    It is a very powerful execute just have to wind it up first. Like 1 slow yet very powerful attack VS fast slightly powerful attacks that have a chance for the enemy to counter attack or roll away.

    But again that's just me and how I feel powerful stuff need a wind up like honestly crystal fragments. Powerful yet wind up. Side note WB needs changed to a 2s cast time and reduce range to 2 m or single target yes powerful but what makes it OP is hits from 7m away and basically insta cast.

    The execute shouldn't be removed. I barely even ever play a DPS DK. How often do you ever even see someone use a heavy attack? I think I will make a couple heavy attack builds and compare them to what we already know works. The most pointless buff removal I can think of!

    you do more heavy attacks on stamina than magicka just due to the speed of the wind up
