So I was scrolling through some Skyrim mods and some of the armor designs are really good. Why not use some of these?

all fine and good, the more mods you add, the more lag, bugs, exploits, issues.

What zenimax should do is release a sort of creation tool that modders could use to create new content for ESO. Would have to submit the content for review and ZOS would have to approve the content before it's open for everyone to download.

They can start with just tools for making new costumes pets and Mounts. Later they could allow modders to create motifs. And eventually is everything worked out, they could release quest making tools.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

OP is talking about the 'armor designs' shown in the pictures, not the actual mods...they look fantastic btw.
Currently playing ESO. Waiting for The Division to drop; think I might go back to playing CoD again.

    Why would they?
Not only do they (Bethesda) technically already own the resources, but financially speaking it would be far more cost effective to simply make a similar 'adaptation' of the armor instead of buying it.

High poly count is OK for single player games, but I'm not aware of any MMO with assets like that.

    1) ZoS should have let the mod community have at this game's cosmetic side right from the start.
    2) For those who say "But it'll cause so much lag, no!", you're all forgetting one simple truth: Unless you have the cosmetic mod installed, you will never see it. Kinda like I don't see any numbers from your installed combat monitoring mods, because I run completely mod free.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

    1. There's a difference between addons and mods.
    2. The idea is that the design of the arms will be bought so Zenimax can impliment them into the game. An MMO in which you can mod in armor styles simply would not work.

I think you guys are confused. I'm talking about making Motifs and Costumes based around some of these designs not letting people mod the game. Lets face it a lot of the designs zos came up with are ugly.

I believe he's talking about using their designs for their own armor. They aren't asking for texture mods.

What they need is a worldwide design contest. Send in your design of either a weapon set, armour set, or a creature. The best ranked designs by both the community on the forums and then also ranked by staff are (at the very least) considered to go into the game.

No cash prize though so all countries can participate.

First off, I do not want to look like an Asian modders idea of the perfect white guy and second... no. But I bet with the huge community the Scrolls series has and all the talent out there people would do the work for free if ZoS asked, just cause fandom an all that.

ZoS (or Bethesda) don't have to pay modders anything. If they wanted anything they could just freely obtain it as modders are using the modding tools and API Bethesda gave them (ZoS/Bethesda - not separating, all are owned by the same corporation), and thus own any rights or mods ultimately and can use or deny at any time they feel fit.
Call of Duty did this aswell - many games have - they use modders work and ideas as features and milestones to implement in their next title.
But I agree, some things shown by OP would be nice to see, but I highly doubt will happen.

Yes if they add lore friendly styles which yes there are alot of but then you have those modders who are big fans of the JRPG genera and well I love JRPGs as much as the next guy but there armor style for men are way over the top like giant should pads with wings and spikes every where while the female armors are..... "under whelming" if you know what I mean.

I can't get rid of the feeling that you are new to Skyrim and/or its mods because you pointed out mods that really aren't that much of a deal. What about Elsweyr mod? That is one hell of a project for instance. To say my opinion, these "better faces" look horrible, anime-like almost.

But in any case, as much as optional creating mods is, I wouldn't mind if authors would get some sort of a reward or appreciation.
Today we make our stand. Today we take back the Ruby Throne, which is ours by ancient right and the blessings of the Divines.

Lol guys ignore the faces the question is simply do you think ZOS should turn some of the armor designs made by modders into costumes and motifs. Not letting people mod the game not if you like these specific examples etc.

Don't care for the anime faces but I did enjoy a lot of the armor redesigns that some modders did.
